Actual Bloo and Mac Characters: Seen Them?

I was wondering, now that Cartoon Network has Mac and Bloo characters that travel around the country for promotional events (Meet and greet at sporting events, festivals, etc.), has anyone meet them in person?

I never heard of this. Is there an article or anything you can point us to?

Several sports teams (the Reading Phillies and the Philadelphia 76ers among them) and the Portland Rose Festival have hosted them. This is a PDF from said Rose Festival:

Awwww. No pictures? :[

I'm curious to see what they look like... like if they're both mascot costumes or what.

From what I've heard, they're mascot-type costumes.

Here's a picture I found a while ago while googling. I think this is what you're talking about:

I feel bad for the person who has to hold up Mac's colossal head.

Maybe it's just light styrofoam or something similar. It can't be very comfortable, though.

Hey, thanks Shany!

I wouldn't say heavy, but definitely very hot, especially during the very warm months. :P Frequent water breaks.

I've heard of people making fursuits/mascot costumes with a little fan in the head that keeps it ventilated. I'd want that if I had to wear that costume, but even if it wasn't feasible I'd still wear it just because it would be cool.

I used to do the costumed mascot thing. We didn't have fans, but we would bring bottles of water and snacks into the heads with us. And the stuff that we did in those costumes when no one was looking would scar any child for life. Something about the combination of a 40 pound costume, 100 degree heat and minimum wage just makes people crazy. :scaryberry:

Nowadays, thanks to modern technology, they wear cooling suits with ice water inside tubes to cool them off. It still smells a tad gamey inside, so they usually put something like Odor Eaters powder or air freshener as they dry.
