The Host
The "famous" South Korean monster movie I had heard so much about. I finally got a chance to see it thanks to my friend yesterday, and i got to say that is one BAD ASS looking monster. Looks totally original and realistic for a CGI beast. The movie itself was pretty damn good, had some tense moments and some good emotional stuff. It dragged down a few areas but overall it was very well done. |

The last film I watched was Fly Away Home (or as I call it, "the Goose Movie"). A very charming film about a girl who raises a flock of Canada geese and teaches them to migrate, which was loosely based on the real-life work of Bill Lishman. The source of antagonism is perhaps a bit too simplified for my liking, but otherwise I think it's a pretty powerful and beautifully-cinematographed little picture, topped off with some really haunting scenes and poignant music, particularly toward the beginning. |

I only saw C & D because I was too late to see American Psycho. I thought it was a perfectly reasonable premise but It did occur to me that Hitler kept his Alsatian with him throughout WW2 and Churchill shared 10 Downing Street with his 'darling cat'. Always seemed daft to me that anyone wouldn't like either. They're both fantastic animals for very different reasons.
Last film I saw was Hot Fuzz (finally!). Very good movie, especially the hilarious scenes with Timothy Dalton. Nice to see Edward Woodward in a homage to his best work. |
Hollow Man
I seriously don't know why alot of people had problems with this movie. I thought it was a great take on the invisible man story, and I LOVED Kevin Bacon in here. Talk about a great psycho performance. Some really cool special effects and I loved the whole "hollow" eyes mask look. |

I think the problem with that film came in several parts, Prior to it, Bacon was not known for any phycotic roles, so it broke peoples expectation of bacon. It was a bit scarry and sometimes a bit gross for some people. And last problem was people do not want to be reminded that, Is it true when you cannot be seen or traced one would loose inhibitions and do things that they know they should not do. this makes people face the big question of is man inherintly good or evil personally I thougth Hollow man was ok, but I would rather rewatch darkman. (I think that was the name of it) Monty :-/ |
Superbad
OMG 8D if you haven't seen this yet go watch it, it was sooooo funny. "McLovin!" |
The Predator. It's fun to watch the Governator go all Rambo on an alien hunter. 8D

AVP: Alien vs. Predator
It's okay. Hopefully Aliens vs. Predator will be better & the Predators will win this time! |

hmmm, Some movies are best left on the big screen or in a REAL Hoime theater only. I liked prtator much more in the theater than on the small screen. another great example of this is the flic I watched earlier this week, "Apocolyps Now Redux" I seen the original dozens of times, the best showing I saw of it was off a 12" lazer disk in a custom home theater. The sound was AMAZING,,, this movie was a true piece of art in my opinion. Monty :-/ |
