FUNNY and DIRTY as hell, much better then the original if you ask me.

Last movie I watched as well, and I agree. In all honesty, I think the second was far superior to the first, but one of the reasons it worked so well was the constant in-jokes and references back to the first, in my own opinion.

As I said, last movie I watched was Clerks 2.

Mr. Marshmallow 12-31-2006 05:02 PM

I actually didn't find as many references to the first one. I did notice some but for the most, the movie didn't feel like it was tying back to the first one alot. I think what made this so much better to me was the major mood swing.

"Clerks" the original, despite it's genius comedy had a very gloomy and depressing nature for Dante. He got royally screwed every waking moment, and at times the movie felt like the world was raining human waste on his head.

What was nice about this movie is that for once, he has a positive and healthy relationship with a girl, a girl who in my humble eyes put on one of the BEST ROMANCES ON SCREEN I have seen in a long time.

I rarely feel so strong a connection to movie romances as I do with this one. It was also a brilliant movie to have Randall actually show a human side to him by admitting his love for his best friend and having a happy ending.

A Boy Named Charlie Brown on DVD. This is one of my favourite animated films, especially with the music. I loved how it was done in an orchestra way, which made the viewing more fun.

Good ol' Charlie Brown. He just can't seem to do anything right!

Carlaz 12-31-2006 09:35 PM

Watched - "Happy New Year, Charlie Brown!" on DVD

I bought one of the new Ultimate James Bond collections the other day, (Vol.2) So I spent part of my New Years Eve watching the 1965 classic Thunderball.

Witchboard

This weird Korean horror movie I saw off Comcast's "Fear.NET" on demand thing. Pretty bizarre, boring at first and crappy ending but was a pretty cool flick.

Duck Soup too. Good movies there.

Last movie I sat and Watched was called Seabiscuit and was about horse racing in depression era US. It wasn't too different from any other sport film really but I quite enjoyed it. I wouldn't have sat and watched it till the end if I didn't. All the actors did a real good job and there was some nice photography of horses moving fast.

You can always tell if a movie's any good if you find yourself spontaneously thinking about it later. Seabiscuit was good for that because it was about more than just what the characters did. If you know what I mean.

Howard 01-03-2007 11:14 AM

We Were Soldiers, I also read the book too.

Partymember 01-03-2007 12:33 PM

frankie_fan 01-03-2007 01:08 PM

I watched Sin City, the recut and extended edition. It wasn't unrated in Australia (it was MA +15). That is such a cool film, especially The Big Fat Kill!

Jabberwocky 01-03-2007 07:24 PM

Does the Best of Bowie video collection count as a movie? BD

Cause otherwise it's still The Yellow Submarine, as my little brother watches it ALL DAY LONG.

Carlaz 01-03-2007 08:21 PM

"It Happened One Night" - great classic movie with Clark Gable.

I caught this last night on pay per view and recorded it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who absolutely loved it. Dante will forever be my crush, even though he hasn't aged well, but hey neither have I ;). My favorite scene is the "ring" scene. "One ring to save them all..." I died laughing 8D

I do, however, like the first one better. When the first one came out I was the same age as the characters in the movie, the second one felt weird to me, I guess it's because even though I've grown up I didn't expect the characters to grow up too.
It was really good to see "Jay" clean and sober.

Mr. Marshmallow 01-04-2007 02:23 PM

I actually thought Randal looked worse then Dante, to me, Dante hadn't changed much. He looked exactly the same way he did in the original "Clerks" aside from slight fat in the face. Randall however looks to have aged badly.

You can tell he's older and it shows. I hope Jason Mewes "Jay" stays clean as I don't like anyone in that kind of crappy situation: drugs. Kevin Smith really wowed me with this movie, it seemed devoid of his previous film mistakes.

The whole "donkey" sequence at the end was by far the show stealer, that and Rosario Dawson putting on a totally kick ass performance, I think this was her best work if you ask me.

Subzeroace 01-04-2007 04:46 PM

Cars, watched it while making my dress up Frankie game ;)

taranchula 01-04-2007 05:12 PM

Continuing on with my James Bond kick, I saw what I consider to be the best of the Roger Moore movies, "The Spy Who Loved Me".

Mr. Marshmallow 01-04-2007 11:21 PM

Dragon Ball: Path to Power

The greatest DB anime movie I've seen, anyone who doubt how great this series (or anime in general) should DEFINITELY see this amazing movie.

Carlaz 01-05-2007 06:24 AM

The Spy Who Came in from the Cold- good classic spy flick!

Howard 01-05-2007 07:09 AM

Road to Perdition on DVD.

taranchula 01-05-2007 07:11 PM

Following up Roger Moore's best Bond effort, today I took in his series swan song "A View to A Kill". And speaking of songs one can't think about this movie without thinking about Duran Duran's awesome theme tune.

Man say what you will about the Moore movies, but they had some of the best theme songs in series history....(Live and Let Die, Nobody Does it Better, For Your Eyes Only, A View To a Kill.)

So true! :)

Invader Bloo 01-06-2007 10:35 AM

The Flinstones ('94 live action)
As I type-Finding Nemo

emperor26 01-06-2007 11:57 AM

The last movie I watched was "Casino Royale".

podpazie 01-06-2007 12:37 PM

Grave of the Fireflies.
I cry my eyes out every time I watch it, as it's an extremely emotional movie. I have never talked with anyone who's seen it who didn't come away from the movie upset in some way. The movie is based on a true story of 2 children in WWII Japan and is written and seen through their eyes. Definately a must see for anyone over the age of 13. I don't think younger viewers would appriciate the movie and would have too many questions regarding symbolism.

taranchula 01-06-2007 05:20 PM

How can I be on a Bond movie kick without viewing my all time favorite film in the series, "From Russia With Love". Which I just completed watching just a moment ago.

Mr. Marshmallow 01-06-2007 08:28 PM

Dead Man on Campus

Took me freaking forever to find this movie on DVD.

Partymember 01-06-2007 08:47 PM

Life Is Beautiful

saddest movie ever

frankie_fan 01-07-2007 06:06 PM

I went to my local theatre to see Happy Feet. Despite the fantastic settings and brilliant songs (and I'm not trying to be critical here), it could've been better, considering the amount of talent in the film.
