It's Thanksgiving, the day we give thanks for the things and people in our lives. Of all the things and people that I'm glad are a part of my life, Frankie Foster always tops the list. This is for Frankie, the lady who always makes me smile, and who truly lights up my life.

Happy thanksgiving to you, Frankie Foster, and to all her fans everywhere.

Lynnie 11-27-2008 01:33 AM

Aw, very nice Cass. I've always really liked that song, too. I sometimes sing it to myself. And of course I always like those space backgrounds you choose.

xxxClaire 11-27-2008 11:39 AM

Aw, that's sweet.

frankie_fan 11-27-2008 05:36 PM

Very nice! Don't know the song, but still, very sweet! :-*

Mac-a-lacka 11-27-2008 08:19 PM

I bet Frankie would love it.

Indeed I she would! 8D

Nice Thanksgiving tribute Cass. Our princess would definitely love it. She makes it all happen at that place for those imaginaries!

Cassini90125 11-29-2008 10:55 PM

As I've been saying for ages. She's the one who keeps the place going, and almost entirely by herself. No one else even comes close. Quite a lady.

Love the new sig, by the way.

Mr. Marshmallow 11-30-2008 11:03 PM

"Destination Imagination" is the pinnacle of Frankie fan devotion, as I said before in the actual episode thread, this movie just honestly felt like Craig and the other creators were bending over backwards and literally giving Frankie everything the Frankie fans have been asking for since she first appeared.

Every minute of this movie was such a treat, everything in it was perfection at its finest and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. Finally now everyone who watches the show can see Frankie is and always will be, the heart of Fosters.

Cassini90125 11-30-2008 11:24 PM

In truth, not quite everything; it left a couple of large questions unanswered, although I got them answered at the Con so it wasn't a big deal (for me, anyway). The first segment of the movie was amazing; so was the rest of it but that first part, to sit there and watch the herculean effort Frankie puts forth day after day with little help and hardly a break... wow. You've got to give her a lot of credit for that. Small wonder that she succumbed to the lure of the toybox; she needed and deserved a break, a long one, and she needed and deserved it badly. I doubt any of us would have been able to resist either.

Mr. Marshmallow 11-30-2008 11:27 PM

Only thing I would have liked to know is about Frankie's past and her parents but I think this is something that needed to happen.

I think this movie needed to be this way and people needed to see Frankie's importance on a larger level.

Something Frankie's past episodes and other "crazy house in a panic episodes" failed to truly capture the true depth of the emotional need and importance of Frankie until now.

Cassini90125 11-30-2008 11:43 PM

It succeeded, too, I think. It's always been said on the CN site's Foster's page that "Frankie is the engine that keeps Foster's running"; the way the House fell apart when she decided to stay in the toybox proves just how indispensable she is, as did Mr. Herriman's futile attempts to find a replacement. Can't be done, Mr. H., can't be done.

Howard 12-01-2008 03:49 AM

Concur; Frankie is the ONLY one that can handle the load at Foster's. She is the only one that knows the ins and outs. Foster's would not be Foster's without her.

I do not blame her for taking an unexpected hiatus. If that was me - I would NEVER come back. For me there would really be no reason to. Kind of like when Ozma made Dorothy, Uncle Henry, and Aunt Em, permanent residents in the land of Oz (yes I do read the original L Frank Baum stories).

Xroc88 12-01-2008 04:48 AM

Frankie certainly delivered in this movie. I think she is the movies main character.

Here ya go, guys - a screencap of Frankie's supervillian outfit from the upcoming episode Bloo Superdude 2:

Click here to see the outfit

Don't click if you'd rather wait for the episode to aire. Sorry, I still don't know what the airdate is, just that it's in January.

Fomalhaut 12-19-2008 03:09 PM

Hm, could've never guessed it was Frankie if you didn't tell me. :)

Nice outfit, btw - supervillain indeed! ;)

frankie_fan 12-19-2008 05:49 PM

Wowsers! THAT'S a supervillain outfit!

WiltsAKGirl17 12-24-2008 10:27 PM

I couldn't take the suspense, so I clicked. ;D Nice outfit-- personally, I'd like it better if I could see all of Frankie's face, but that's me for ya.

Thank you so much for sharing, Cassini!

Gotta say I prefer her Frankarella outfit from the end of the ep.

Okay, after seeing that, I'm suddenly reminded of the music video for Say You'll Be There by the Spice Girls! 8D

Valentine's Day is coming

I was at CVS several hours ago, like I am most every night. Headed straight for the Valentine's Day goodies. I do that every year; I can't help myself. And yes, I did buy a few things for Frankie. Yeah, I know I can never give them to her but again, I can't help myself; it's something that I need to do, a way of expressing how I feel. Too bad the barbarians in the aisle with me weren't feeling quite the same way about the women they knew; their conversation seemed to center on what they hoped to get in return for the chocolates and plushies and other objects they were thinking of buying. As you might have already guessed, what they were aiming for was biological in nature. Is that all Valentine's Day is about? Apparently so, for some people. Not for me, thank you. Let me tell you a story here, from several long years ago when I actually had someone special and real in my life. "Karen" and I were in one of the local shops in Hartford one afternoon, just passing through on our way home, not looking for anything in particular. She found this adorable white plush puppy with a built-in music box that played "Where oh where has my little dog gone?" and was completely enchanted with it. You know the feeling, when you find something that really touches your heart. She sighed as she put it back on the shelf, saying that she wanted it so bad. We grabbed a couple of sodas and went back to our respective homes. Later that night I snuck back to the store and shelled out $25.00 to get the plushie. All I could think of was the look on her face in five days when I gave it to her. It wasn't really in my budget for the month but that hardly mattered. Only the joy she'd be feeling mattered. Five days later on Valentine's Day I went down to her apartment, plushie hidden in a grocery bag, told her to sit down and close her eyes. She did so, smiling in anticipation, and I flipped the switch on the plushie's music box. The smile on her face, the look of surprise and pure happiness on her face... I made the woman I loved happy, that's all I wanted. Isn't that what Valentine's Day is about? Isn't that what it should be about? It's about giving, not about what you might get in return. It's about giving of yourself, too, be it with something from a store or a homemade card, a crystalline heart trimmed with gold and engraved with poetry or a single flower, or anything, really. It's about how you feel about the special person in your life, and how they feel when you do something special for them. It's about expressing your love for that person. This is why, in part, I ask every year if y'all want your names added to Frankie's Valentine's Day card. If I just go ahead and add them, that's not you expressing anything; it's just me being presumptuous and saying "Of course he/she loves her!", which is not what Valentine's Day is about; it's not what I'm about. I'll leave that kind of behaviour to the DA crowd. So, as I gear up to search for an image of my favorite animated lady, a suitable background image, and try desperately to think of something to write on top of it all, I put the annual question to everyone reading this once again:

Who wants their name added to Frankie Foster's Valentine's Day card?

frankie_fan 01-30-2009 08:54 PM

And every year, I say, 'I do'. :-*

You should know by now! 8D

Mac-a-lacka 01-30-2009 09:10 PM

I would, please.

Frankie_Foster 01-30-2009 09:52 PM

I bet you know what my answer is.

Xroc88 01-31-2009 05:17 AM

I do!!!

for the best redheaded woman i the world.

HerrimanWasHere 02-02-2009 12:22 PM

You know what...I don't mind being added to the card. (If you even want to add me) I might not be in love with Frankie, but I love her as if she was my own sister.

Cassini90125 02-02-2009 12:28 PM

I'll be happy to add you. It's open to anyone who cares about her.

L.G. 02-02-2009 06:48 PM

Could you add my name to the card, please? :)

jekylljuice 02-03-2009 01:49 AM

Hey, can you put my name on this card too please, Cass? I always felt slightly weird about it in the past, being a gal, but clearly no one else does, so why should I? I just want to show my appreciation for Frankie, after all.

Imaginary Light 02-03-2009 08:24 AM

I feel pretty much the same way as jekylljuice. I'll add my name to the card as well.:)

xxxClaire 02-08-2009 01:10 PM

Me too, bud.

AXavierB 02-10-2009 01:06 AM

Ever since Destination Imagination, Frankie has been a favorite character of mine. The others on the show don't appreciate her enough.

Cassini90125 02-14-2009 07:58 PM

Not my best work, what with half of my equipment and programs out of action, but here it is:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...25/FFV2009.jpg

Names are listed in the order they were recieved (mostly).

You have no idea what I went through to make this. But she's so worth it.

Happy Valentine's Day, Frankie. From all of us. :-*

Lynnie 02-14-2009 08:14 PM

Very lovely Cass.

Hope everyone had a good Valentines Day, and was at least able to have some yummy candy or something. I got some chocolates, so I'm sure happy.

xxxClaire 02-14-2009 09:04 PM

Like I said earlier, very nice. You did a great job on it.

Mac-a-lacka 02-14-2009 10:35 PM

Very excellent job.

frankie_fan 02-15-2009 01:04 AM

Aww, what a way to end my day after a weekend in Sydney. Love the heart cloud, and such clever wording: 'The Destination of my Imagination'. Couldn't agree more. :-*

Again, such great work!

jekylljuice 02-15-2009 01:15 AM

Very nice, Cass. I'm glad that I was able to be a part of it.

L.G. 02-15-2009 05:59 PM

Cass, what you've got there is fabulous! :smed:

Cassini90125 02-15-2009 09:42 PM

As always, my thanks to those who commented.

For those interested in the "behind the scenes" stuff, the image of Frankie came from the old Adopt-A-Friend game a few years ago. Cleaning it up was a bit of a challenge but I've learned all sorts of tricks that one can do with Paint. The background is a screencap of a much larger image, trimmed a bit so that Photobucket wouldn't laugh at me when I uploaded it. Don't ask me what inspired the words; they just came to me and since I was running out of time I used them. Two minutes to spare is much too close. I'm starting work on next year's card right after Thanksgiving 2009. In the search for an image of Frankie that was suitable I gave serious thought to using a pic of my beautiful Frankie Sim but I assumed everybody would rather see the original character. Next project, perhaps, and I do have an idea in mind. Stay tuned.

Glad y'all enjoyed the card.
