The commentaries. Are they done by the actors/writers or are they done by the characters themselves?

Because it kind of sounds like that from what you guys have been saying and I just want to be sure. And are there commentaries for every episode?

On the DVD, there are two versions of "Store Wars", one being the one we see(AND hear)on television, and the other being that one, but with an ongoing running coversation between Frankie, Bloo and Mac dubbed over it. It's supposed to be that the whole incident at the mall was captured on tape and used to bad FRANKIE from shopping there ever again, because of her failure to control Bloo. She's trying to convince the mall that Bloo is contrite about his actions, so she can get back in, and she and Mac have hatched a plan to get this written confession and apology from Bloo by showing him the tape. Bloo winds up turning the tables completely on them, slicker than a Southern politician in a nekked oil-wrestling competition, though! You can choose between the normal version of "Store Wars" and the commentary version.

Oh! I can't wait to get this!
Maybe "Good Wilt Hunting" was a fake episode created by Frankie so that we could never find out that Wilt was her date to the prom, and that's why he was imagined. 8D

And all you "SpongeBob SquarePants" fans out there... If you've seen the episode "The Chaperone"...

I think Wilt is Mr. Long, Tan and Handsome! XD

Frankie went to her prom with Wilt, or so she says! :O

Now that's cute! Who better to take one of the sweetest ladies in the world to her big day then one of the nicest guys ever imagined? That made my day.:D
Also, I just orderd my copy off Amazon today. It's expected to come in by March 19.

AprilDawn 03-09-2007 02:20 PM

Whoo! I got it last night! I was late to a party actually because I had to go to TWO places to find it. Yea, I couldnt wait until today, I know.
So much for low demand. They were sold out at Target, AND I got the LAST ONE at Hastings. :D

Ya know, I was watching it today, and in the episode, "Dinner is Swerved", they say "shut up" and "stupid" a lot. Odd... kind of reminds me of Angry Beavers when they censored Norb for saying shut up... hmm.

Voxxyn 03-10-2007 06:42 AM

Got the DVD last night. :D Borders had a single copy stashed in the Kids DVD shelf, which I grabbed instantly. Dunno if there were any others that sold out; I hope that was the case.

Now, I want to figure out how to take personal screencaps from the DVD... since the method I used for the WinRAR files makes the DVD unplayable in my computer.

taranchula 03-10-2007 11:38 AM

Say anyone find the easter eggs yet?

I was able to find two thus far, each one is located on the episode selection screen on disks 1 and 2. I won't give anything away but one was kind of funny and the other was kind of pointless. :P

One Radical Dude 03-10-2007 11:41 AM

Yeah, I found those, too, I agree with what you said. Either way, kinda nice to see.

What were those easter eggs? I don't have this DVD (I don't know if I'll get it since the original Adoptcalypse Now credits weren't included). Put them in spoiler bars, please, so they aren't spoiled for people who want to search for them.

taranchula 03-10-2007 12:41 PM

Anybody order some eggs spoiler side up? :p

Spoiler Below
The first egg on disk one was just more footage of Herriman Hip Hop dancing from World Wide Wabbit, there wasn't any dialouge just the beat of the music. So yeah that's the pointless one.

Spoiler Below
The second egg on disk two, is the Groucho Marx chicken (From Phone Home and other episodes) telling some lame jokes. That's the mildly funny one

Mr. Marshmallow 03-10-2007 02:23 PM

Well I got it today and though I am upset there are only 13 episodes on it, considering how short "seasons" feel with this show, still it was nice to finally get a show I love on DVD for a reasonably good price. Not a big fan of the cover artwork though.

I mean it's a tad weird. I don't hate it but, I was expecting something just a little more creative or eye catching. Either way, I'm glad I finally got this because it has some of the rarely seen kick ass episodes like "Berry Scary" "Boooo" and of course "Store Wars". There's something funny bout that episode.

I noticed the DVD set seemed to focus most of it's visuals on that episode. Like Bloo holding the dancing cactus toys on the disc cover, the ONLY episode with character commentary, and the fact the back shows Frankie carrying Mac and them from the episode. It's just weird how all the art focuses alot on "Store".

kaytea 03-10-2007 04:51 PM

woot I just got mine today :D
lawlzs I totaly lost it when Craig brought up the wilt fangirls

Spoiler Below
I also lost it when mac said "oh yeah your hot" in the commentary

Yeah I thought that was one of the highlights from that good but all too short interview.

Now if only us Frankie fans would get a little wave and a wink like that :D talk about making my day.

But in all seriousness, it's a beautiful thing to hear a shows creator actually acknowledge the fans like that and I hope Craig and the others continue to do so with the future DVD season releases.

One Radical Dude 03-10-2007 06:31 PM

It was a short featurette, though it was nice, too. I hope they do another behind the scenes, but with more of the actors next time.

im sure they will

taranchula 03-10-2007 07:38 PM

If this is anything like other Cartoon Network DVD set's there will be more featurettes on future seasons. They like to do about one per season covering different aspects of the show. I know the Samurai Jack and Justice League sets were like that.

I found another one. It's in the main menu on the first disk, I believe.
Spoiler Below
It just shows some animation tests. Kind of interesting.

Hey, wasn't there supposed to be deleted scenes on the DVDs? I remember a while back when the DVD was announced, the website named the special features that it would include, and one was deleted scenes. That's why I thought the original end credits for Adoptcalypse Now would be on there.

chesme 03-11-2007 07:56 AM

I am a sad little monkey. I got my dvd's last night and it seems there's either an error on disc two or it's COMPLETELY BLANK. No dvd player will run it. Now I have to take it back, though I'm not sure Walmart's policy is on dvd returns... I've never had to do one before. :'(

Like most every other store, their policy is that you can only exchange it for the exact same DVD only, once it's open you cannot get a refund at all.

I've heard about other people having problems with second disk too, so I wonder how long it will be before Warner Home Video adresses the issue?

One Radical Dude 03-11-2007 01:24 PM

Sounds just like what SynDuo experienced. Yeah, unfortunately, most retailers will not refund your money. Sounds like this problem could be more widespread. Hopefully, this issue will be addressed, and that people can get replacement discs.

chesme 03-11-2007 06:05 PM

Aw, man... I'm sorry to hear it's not an isolated event. Hopefully, Walmart will have one left when I try to exchange it.

One Radical Dude 03-12-2007 10:40 PM

They finally have the DVD in my area. So, for those that could not find it locally last week and can't do the online shopping (or avoid it), check back.

AprilDawn 03-12-2007 11:19 PM

I suggest Target to buy it at for those who live in the area with them.
There, they had it $5 cheaper than ANYwhere else I looked. Of course, thats probably why they were sold out and I had to spend the extra to get it that same day because Im impatient. Yup. 8D

InsaneFan 03-13-2007 11:06 AM

OMG, I was in Texas when the DVD was released, and SHAME ON ME I FORGOT. I was reminded by a PREVIEW on CN! THEN, I couldn't find it anywhere, and I couldn't get on the internet anywhere to order it and have it waiting for me when I got home. So, I finally got it yesterday, at the 6TH place I tried.

*deep breath* BUT IT WAS AWESOME. I've watched the commentary 3 times already. xD Thanks to my sisters who just couldn't watch it the same time I did.

Spoiler Below
YOMGWILTWENTTOPROMWITHFRANKIE!!! =O =D

Also, I was TOTALLI excited and hyped up when Craig mentioned us fangirls. I bounced and floated around the house for a half and hour after. x3

Yeah, me too! And it takes a LOT to get ME to bounce around for oh, like more than two seconds nowadays! I thought it a bit "off" that he stated that all of us fangirls were "teenage girls", or that the only reason we liked Wilt so much was because "he's so nice", but hey, at least he acknowledged us and showed that they totally are aware of Wilt's appeal to female fans!

Well, fortunately, it's not effecting the majority of people here. So the chances of you having a defected disc are not as great as getting two functional discs.

pitbulllady 03-14-2007 02:09 AM

Oddly enough, my Disc Two won't play at all in my computer's built-in DVD/CD player, but it will play in the plug-n-play USB player I bought to attach to the computer, so go figure. No trouble at all from Disc One, though.

Sarah 03-14-2007 05:30 AM

♥DVD.

Hehe, it's outtt :D

I got it yesterday at HMV and flipped out after she (as in the salesgirl) put it in the bag and said 'have a nice day'.

She looked at me like I was nuts.
From there I went home and watched all of the first disc, and this morning I completed watching the second disc.

And I want to do it again. :D

chesme 03-14-2007 08:10 AM

Well, I exchanged my bad copy for a new one. At first my dvd player didn't want to play the second disc like before, but I gave it another chance and, YAY, it plays.

It seems so strange it is just that second disc that is the problem. I'm wondering if it's something to do with the copy protection.

Sparky 03-15-2007 02:52 PM

For anyone who's interested, CG wrote up a transcript of the little mini-documentary thingie by Craig on the DVD for my site. Here it is.

Medikor 03-16-2007 06:43 AM

My copy finaly came in this morning and I love it! The commentary had me spliting my side non-stop!8D

Sparky 03-16-2007 07:33 PM

I see that they're selling this DVD at Hot Topics. I saw it on HT's website, but saw it in an actual store today.

scary_dream 03-16-2007 07:54 PM

I just got mine in the mail today!

Unfortunately, I checked the mail on the way TO work, so it was staring at me the whole time while I was there. Longest.....day....ever.

I'm off now and about to go home so.... YAY!

Invader Bloo 03-17-2007 06:58 AM

No sign at Target. Of course they had that gay Lunatics Unleashed season 1 DVD.::)

Sparky 03-17-2007 06:16 PM

I saw it at Walmart today. I'm guessing its starting to become a tad easier to find than when it first came out, which is good. Hopefully it'll stay available for a while.

Howard 03-19-2007 11:13 AM

Our Target hd two left. I already purchased mine from the same store on release day.

One Radical Dude 03-19-2007 08:34 PM

My Wal-Mart didn't have anymore copies. Did they actually sell out of copies? :P Hopefully, the sales were good there.

Subzeroace 03-20-2007 11:34 AM

I haven't seen anymore copies since I got mine, and I have been looking. Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Future Shop, HMV none at any of them.
