I found out today that I get Easter Sunday off! :yeah: I was so not expecting that! It's also a good thing I took two days off earlier this week, otherwise I'd be working six days strait, at 7-8 hours each day. After what I went though this weekend, I wouldn't have handled going so long without a day off very well, that's for sure. :P

I walked into Whitney Pizza and Grinders about an hour ago, looking for a tuna grinder. Before I even asked, the guy behind the counter says, "Large tuna, right?"
"I've been here before, haven't I?" was my response. He laughed, said, "Once or twice," and got to work on my order. It's a little thing, I suppose, but it's nice to have the guy at the local sandwich shop recognize you. :) |
My sister was on band tour around British Columbia, Canada all week and got back home today. My dad and I picked her up from the school and went out to eat before they dropped me off at my place (I am currently without a car). Anyway, while she was in BC she thought of me. While at a mall, she stopped by Claire's and picked up a Foster's hair accessory kit and a cell phone charm for me. When she handed me that litttle Claire's bag while we were driving to the restaurant I nearly cried, I was sooo thankful to have some of my Foster's "purse" things replenished. I gave her a big kiss. It was awfully sweet of her, I love my baby sister.

It is with a great deal of pleasure that I announce that I now have an air conditioner. ;D
Seriously, we've had a minor heat wave here for the past three days and it's been miserable. It reached the low 90's at one point, which is about 30 degrees higher than my comfort zone. The unit is small and won't cool my entire apartment but it's handling the bedroom quite nicely, and since that's where my computers are, I'm pretty much all set for awhile. Time to sit back and chill out. ;) |
My boyfriend told me he loves me. :-*

Cheesy as this sounds, but just coming onto the forum after a long day and being to once again hang out with my favorite group of people, especially on a day like today where the positive energy seems to be at an all time high for obvious reasons.
Man I should get to bed, lack of sleep is making me very very sappy. 8D |
There was a church potluck yesterday, so I prepped some meat, brought the ingredients to church, and then started frying tacos as soon as the service was over, producing a batch of three every 2 minutes or so.
And I couldn't make them fast enough! People LOVED them! Mobbed over them! Mind you, it probably helps that the other dishes were vegetables, beans, really dry pork, and something involving a lot of bone and grizzle, but still it feels nice to make people happy like that. |
I LOVE potlucks at my church! I rarely make anything, though. But being able to eat a bunch of good food, like "Jennie's Mac & Cheese", and cultural food from all over the world, and then sitting with friends and chatting while we eat, it's always a good day when we have potluck. :)
What made my day today was my car is finally fixed! :D And it runs great, and I shouldn't have any worries about it for a while. Now I just wish I could say the same for my computer. But I'm managing. |
I'm totally in love. :-*
Today me, my boyfriend, and three of our friends skipped class and just sat outside. It was really a lot of fun. We just talked and bonded and stuff... it was good. |

Getting my Sims game running again made my day. Seriously, it may be just a game but I put a lot of effort into it, a lot of sweat and a lot of heart, and to finally have it running flawlessly means a lot to me. |

Some may recall me getting a new auto insurance policy last week. Well, I canceled my old policy today and to my surprise, my old policy will refund me about $200! You have noooo idea how much of relief that is! I'm still struggling to get back on my feet after the nightmare that was April and am really struggling right now. Whew! :)

Excellent! ;D

I had my Thesis Prospectus committee meeting yesterday, and THEY APPROVED MY TOPIC YAY!!!!! Well, now on to the next step.
Also, the plumbing is fixed now. |
1. I was no longer grounded!
2. I watched Fiddler on the Roof. That movie always puts me in a good mood. 3. The Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack. 4. I've got ten posts. Ten is a good number. |
My boyfriend loves me... :-*
And I was informed today that my sweet 16 is all set. Finally! |
Last summer my sister submitted a story she wrote to a magazine, and a few months later they sent her a check and told her they were going to publish it. It takes a while for these things to take place, but today, finally, she got three copies of the magazine in the mail with her story in it to keep and share. :yeah:
What's the story about? Me and Joey!! :D A true story that happened a number of years ago, while moving from Texas to New Mexico to be exact. I was 22 at the time, but the magazine is for tween-age kids, so they depicted me to be about 13 in it. I can hardly wait to see the picture some artist illustrated of us! I won't get my copy until next weekend, but I'll try to share the picture at least when I do. :) |
My congratulations to her!
What magazine, by the way? |
It's called Guide Magazine, and contains a collection of stories, fun facts and moral lessons for kids 10-14 years old. It has weekly publications, and it's been around since the '60s I believe. I grew up with it, and so did she. :)

-On Sunday, I went to my dad's house to wash off the tree pollen off my truck with the garden hose, and afterwards, he, my step-mom, and I saw our neighbors got a new dalmatian pup. They invited us to play with it. Everytime my step-mom encouraged the pup to come to me, it would run back to her instead8D.
-To my pleasent surprise, I'm noticing that the gas stations in my area that sell diesel have regular grade gas set at only a few cents cheaper than diesel per gallon, and at one least station has regular and diesel priced exactly the same. I have never seen that before. Quote:

Forgive the double post, but here's the picture that came with the story my sister wrote about my cat Joey and I. :)
http://www.fosters-home.com/forum/pi...&pictureid=463 I'm 14 in the story since the magazine is for 10-14 year olds, although I was 22 when it took place in real life. I'm frantically looking for Joey after he disappeared at a hotel while I was moving from Texas to New Mexico. That's my dad in the background, helping me look for him. One of the scariest moments in my life, but with a happy outcome. The story is titled "Cat on the Loose". It's not appropriate to be posted to the forums due to religious (Christian) content, but if anyone wants to read it, PM me and I'll send you the link. ;) |
I ordered a t-shirt from Angus Oblong's site to wear to Comic-Con and he emailed me personally right after to let me know he'll ship it right away.
Eeeeeeeeee. :D |
Spent the night before my birthday with my loving boyfriend... :-*
And now it actually is my birthday! Partyyy!!! |
I rode in my friend's BMW Z-8 Alpina Roadster (#111 out of 555 built) to a meeting out in the sticks. Man, that car has some pick up in speed! I think I felt the G-forces. My friend owns a very lucrative business.

Okay, get this. While working earlier today, I was speaking with a woman with the surname "Bloos". I am not making this up. I'm not going to reveal the first name, but she had the last name of "Bloos". It was spelled B-L-O-O-S. I thought that was kinda cool!

Wow! Did you tell her how cool her name is and why? |
On the way home from work, I got to see a quick glimpse of the police arresting a clearly drunk driver (There were like two empty bottles on the hood of the squad car.) it does my heart well to see local law enforcement keeping the streets safe from nimrods like that. :D

Took a trip to Durham City today, it was chock full of people, sun was out, nice atmosphere. Can't buy days like that.

So do I. I bought some precooked bacon at CVS earlier. I microwaved three slices, crumbled it, and added it to a bowl of rice along with some parmesan cheese. Added quite a bit of flavor.

I've been accepted onto a creative writing course that's running this summer. ;D
This means a lot to me, since creative writing is something which I absolutely love doing, only I didn't get do quite so much of it while I was studying at University - probably because I'd devoted so much time to academic writing that I didn't really have the time or inclination to do any other kind. It's great to finally be getting back into the swing of it. :) Actually, I'm in a pretty good mood in general right now. My CRB went through successfully last week (finally!), I have two of my all-time favourite cartoons on DVD, plus I get to see one of my all-time favourite bands in concert at the end of the week. Hope things keep up like this. :smed: |
I had a huuuuge scare earlier today. Later this month at my job location, we're going to go through training again, but for a different department. I had gotten time off approved a few months ago for July. For a good part of the day, I was not in a great mood knowing that I might have to choose between keeping my job and not go on vacation, or go on vacation at the expense of giving up my job. Later on, I was told that the site director said that the time off will be honored, so I was totally relieved. :yeah:
