Sorry I'm late for for our #1 lady's Birthday party. Here's to Frankie having a day to kick up her feet and relax.
And I see some great new stuff being sported around here to. Great avi and sig bar, Ducky! And I love that wallpaper, Cass. What a great way to make use of that sketch you got.:D

L.G. 07-29-2008 08:08 PM

Should've said this sooner but Happy belated Birthday, Frankie.

My present to her would be $250 worth of diesel fuel so she can still take fun trips with the whole Foster house despite rising fuel costs :scribble:.

WiltsAKGirl17 08-06-2008 07:51 PM

It's a shame I missed Frankie's birthday, really, but I had something resembling an excuse (grounded xP), so I'm going to try to redeem myself:

~ Happy birthday, Frankie, even if it is later than it should have been!

~ Gorgeous card, Cassini! It's amazing-- just like the recipient. :-*

~ I really like your new avatar and sig bar, FF-- very sharp and nice looking.

This guy named dude13 at fanfiction.net writes really great frankie stories. I love them, jhe knows how to keep frankie in perfect character and it makes me even love her much more, good to read while waiting for new fosters eps.

"Perfect character"? I've never noticed that Frankie was so bi-polar on the show, swinging from acting like a silly, goofy little girl one moment and becoming a screaming, hysterical maniac the next. I never noticed Mac being a whiny, scaredy-cat crybaby, either-that's Eduardo's gig. Frankie is a LOT more emotionally stable on the show than in those fanfics, sorry. But then, those stories are "AU", more or less.

Xroc88 08-07-2008 08:14 AM

But its still the same personality, on the show frankie doesn't put up with anybody, same in the fanfics, although it seems to exaggerate it a bit, i see no changes.

Howard 08-07-2008 08:29 AM

I do enjoy Dude 13's stuff as well. The stories are fun to read, but PB is right, he goes over the top with Frankie's character (Mac and some of the other characters too). While Frankie can be the big sister, prankster, the hard worker, or a mother hen, she does not overdo these little roles. The only thing I was disgusted with Frankie, is when she showed her weakness in "Little Peas." I felt a strong young woman of Frankie's caliber, should never show her weakness ("I'm such a LOSER!"). There is nothing wrong with her doing that in the privacy of her bedroom; I was very upset when she showed her "vulnerability" hand. While I think it was a set back on Frankie's demeanor - I will not love her less.

Mac-a-lacka 08-07-2008 08:49 AM

I've never really noticed or payed much attention to any possible "out of character-ness" in Dude13's fics. :P :wiltshock:

But, I still really enjoy his stories. :)

We all reach our breaking points. Considering what Frankie has to put up with every dang day, I don't blame her at all. As for fanfics, you already know my opinion of the bulk of them. :frankiemad: Of more interest to me right now is whether or not our favorite lady will have a significant role in the remaining few episodes and the movie. We'll definitely be seeing her in Return Of The Bloo Superdude (y'all are going to love her costume) but I don't know anything beyond that.

Return Of The Bloo Superdude is a new episode; they showed us a preview at Comic-Con. Looks like a dang good one, too. I don't know what the airdate is, though; not until November at least.

Xroc88 08-07-2008 09:25 AM

You said frankie has a costume? how does it look like?

Mac-a-lacka 08-07-2008 11:58 AM

You guys are talking about this, right?

No, I'm talking about a new episode with the Bloo Superdude that hasn't aired yet. The preview had Frankie in a supervillain costume, mostly black, with a high coller, high-heeled boots, and a cape. And an attitude.

Really? I can't wait to see what Frankie looks like in all those things. :P

Wow i have to see that.

Medikor 08-07-2008 04:10 PM

Sounds like her new outfit could be influenced by some scolding prior to Bloo telling another story.;)

Frankie as a supervillain...this I MUST see.:weirded:

Howard 08-07-2008 08:39 PM

I may be dating myself for this, but I think Frankie should dress in all black leather like Diana Rigg from "The Avengers" (Patrick McNee).:D

And I get creeped out when guys start talking about how a woman "should" dress.

;)

O.O Now THIS I have to see!!

frankie_fan 08-23-2008 10:40 PM

*dusts off the thread*

Hey Cass, do you know when this Bloo Superdude episode airs? I'm DYING to see Frankie in this supervillain outfit!

Cassini90125 08-23-2008 10:50 PM

I don't honestly know. If the movie is the next new episode we get, and it airs on Thanksgiving, we may not see Bloo Superdude 2 until December. :P

I looked on YouTube earlier in the hope that someone had managed to record the clip we saw at the Con but I found nothing. Guess we'll just have to wait for it. Definitely an interesting outfit, I'll say that.

Xroc88 09-03-2008 03:09 AM

I seriously hope she will get good sized roll in the final eps and the movie. If not i will be severly dissapointed, she hasnt had a good sized roll lately and that is worrying.

Medikor 09-05-2008 10:11 AM

I'm sure that the crew will do their best to give the characters equal treatment for the final season. Frankie included.

Howard 09-05-2008 04:16 PM

It is the last hurrah, they have to put quality time into each character.

Mr. Marshmallow 09-14-2008 09:41 PM

I sure hope so. Frankie I think deserves much more attention, focus and above all, appreciation and I feel its a shame that she didn't get at least a little bit more air time after 6 seasons. I'm hoping the last episode will give her a pretty decent chunk of air time, I mean she got pretty good work in the Wilt movie.

Unfortunately, I have my doubts that she won't get that much time or credit to amount up to a proper send off. Much as I do love Frankie, I fear she isn't seen by other fans as such an important asset in the "credit" department. The only way I can see it working is if there's some big problem, plot, or issue that can involve everyone so everyone can contribute.

Kind of like the climax to Pirates of the Caribbean or Season 1 of Heroes, all the characters both big and small managed to play a role relating towards the bigger issue at hand. Its rare to see it done properly but it can be done and I hope Fosters can accomplish that....but most importantly, I hope Frankie gets some mad love ;D.

Lots of Frankie fans has said how much we love her on this board, so let's hope we get some more reasons to love her by this last episode. Here's hoping.

Cassini90125 09-14-2008 10:08 PM

I think we'll get something, although perhaps not as much as we'd like. She might have a decent-size role in Destination Imagination, although the movie itself is I think likely to focus on Mac and Bloo. But yeah, she very definitely deserves some quality screentime. And I agree, some other fans don't give her the credit she deserves or even have much regard for her. But we know better, and that counts for something in my book.

As for her role in the remaining episodes, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I think she'll have a significant role in Bloo Superdude 2 but beyond that I haven't heard anything. As you said, here's hoping.

Xroc88 09-16-2008 05:05 AM

If this show wasn't IF focused based then im sure frankie would definatley get much more attention, but since its heavily focused on the fosters five that we've all seen too much of than i have my doubts also.

Seriously when i heard the fosters five and looked at the picture and it didn't include frankie i kicked a chair.:edmad:

Cassini90125 09-16-2008 07:15 AM

That's the way the show was designed, dude. Strong fan base or not, she was always intended to be a secondary character. Nonetheless she's gotten a couple episodes of her own, and happily they were among the best of the series.

Xroc88 09-18-2008 06:53 AM

I gues your right. but still when your a hardcore fan of someone you must want MAOR!!

Happy birthday to me

Inspired by Sparky's recent work with the online coloring book, I decided to make myself a birthday present. I liked the results so I thought I'd share it with you guys:

From page #55 of the Mac Daddy coloring book. Turned out rather well, I think.

Awesome! :groovyed:

Cassini90125 10-02-2008 12:51 PM

Thanks, guys.

Something perhaps worth noting, here. The coloring book contains scenes from three Foster's episodes, including Store Wars, which is the story containing the pic I colorized. Take a look at Frankie's ears; in the pic (and throughout the book) she has the redesigned version, which weren't created until long after Store Wars originally aired. Mildly interesting factoid, I think.

Lynnie 10-02-2008 03:52 PM

I saw this last night, no reason really for not replying until now, but good job Cass! She looks like she just stepped out of the show.

I don't remember noticing how her ears are different in the early episodes as compared to the later ones. I know her hair was different, with wispy strands hanging loosely in front of her ears in the earlier episodes. Hm, going to go look at some screencaps now. :smed:

Cassini90125 10-02-2008 03:57 PM

Version #2 is an improvement, in my opinion. As I recall there was at least one episode where she had both versions at different points.

Lynnie 10-02-2008 04:21 PM

Aah, I see now. In the early episodes her ears are elongated and almost appear to be pasted to the side of her head. In later episodes they're rounder and stick out a little more naturally. I agree, the later ones are much nicer looking. She looks cuter in the later episodes.
