They didn't have it at my Wal-Mart store, either. Some releases get the DVDs later than others, from what I've learned. If you cannot get it online or want to get it locally, keep checking back with your nearest retailers.

One Radical Dude 03-06-2007 06:51 PM

Okay, I'm sorry for posting back-to-back, but there's something I want to address. SynDuo told me that he went through many sets, claiming that he couldn't view the second disc on any of his DVD players at all. Has anyone else faced this problem? If so, please mention it.

Aww... And here I was hoping the trouble of finding one was because they were selling out due to high demand. 8D
I shall try again in a week I guess. If I can wait that long...

Also, I just looked over the link Sparky provided and I like it! Im glad they didnt rely heavily on stock art... Bleh. I especially like the back cover! :D Cute.

Sparky 03-06-2007 07:53 PM

No, unfortunately I was told by both Best Buy and Suncoast that (and this was the same deal as with the GBA game) that it might be released, but the stores won't get them automatically because of projected low demand. You have to special-order it.

AprilDawn 03-06-2007 07:57 PM

Aw! "low demand"? Great... and I live in the boonies so who knows if I will ever get it. :/
Theres always Amazon...

One Radical Dude 03-06-2007 08:08 PM

"Low demand" -- you gotta be kidding me? :(

Oh, and the "low demand" thing kinda bites. I hope this doesn't affect its chances of being released in Region 2. :(

Anyhow, thanks for providing that link, Sparky, since I imagine it'll be a while before I get to experience it for myself. I particularly love the packaging art. And the Gallery of Friends is also pretty interesting, for all the additional background information it provides about the minor characters.

I'm looking forward to that. Store Wars is probobly my favorite episode of the first season.:D

Howard 03-07-2007 07:17 AM

I got mine at Target yesterday, but I had to wait until my significant other was done watching "Gilmour Girls" before being able to play it. I am now on the "Busted" episode.

Voxxyn 03-07-2007 07:27 AM

I'm not surprised by the "low demand"/can't-find-it-anywhere dilemma. Foster's, despite reportedly being one of the highest-rated originals on CN, is unfortunately not popular or well-known in the mainstream on the same level as SpongeBob or Fairly OddParents or Avatar(I've read repeatedly that Nickelodeon almost always crushes CN in the ratings). I'm crossing my fingers that the local Borders will have it, since they have a far more expansive and varied catalog of DVDs.

But anyway... I checked the DVD page, and I must say it looks GREAT. :D I really want to listen to the Store Wars commentary track. This DVD and the upcoming Frankie comic-book will definitely keep me happy until whenever Season 5 is ready to debut.

lucyrocks73 03-07-2007 07:29 AM

Unfortuately, I'm broke as broke can be.

So... Maybe the Easter Bunny can help (heh...). My mother likes to put DVDs in the Easter baskets, so...

Hey, I can dream, can't I???

Oh- someone listen to/watch the character commentary- I want to hear about it!!!

pitbulllady 03-07-2007 08:42 AM

I'm a bit surprised at the "low demand" thing, too. I run into LOTS of people, many of them adults, who love this show. It might not get as much recognition as Spongebob, but then, CN doesn't push it as hard as Nick does with SB, either. That can be a good thing, since people aren't as likely to get sick of the characters so soon. Even a lot of kids here at school are getting tired of Spongebob, and more and more of them are into Foster's. Last year, only one student did a Foster's-related fanart pic for that assignment, and this year, several of them have(mostly girls-mostly of Wilt), so the popularity is steadily growing. In every place I asked about the DVD, many people knew of the show and watched it, and I am definately out in the boonies myself. It's just a surprise that even places that normally carry a lot of new animation DVD's don't even have it.

It actually kind of surprises me that some people are having difficulty finding the DVD. I thought I was going to have difficulty finding it, but obviously didn't. I guess it just depends on where you live.

I watched all the extras last night, and my favorite part was the commentary on Store Wars. I was laughing the whole time. It was practically just like a new episode. You guys have gotta watch it!

My dad just bought it for me today, nice cheep $19.99 CAD at HMV

It was a little hard to find, they only had one copy and it was hidden behind some stuff in the box set area (I looked in new releases, and the family area first)

I have to say it is so great o.o I just watched the Store Wars commentary, it was... There is no word for it. Just go and get this DVD and watch it now. I'm sad theres only one eppy with commentary, but heck, one there is is good enough to make up for that.

Going to watch some of the other features now,

Lots of <3 guys (I know I haven't been posting much)
(yes you can tell I'm excited about this I wished you all love :x)
Rest or buy this baby now :O

Just got this from Amazon about an hour ago, and let me say that the commentary track is one of the greatest things in the history of recorded sound, Bloo's rant about commentaries in the middle of the commentary had me as the kids say ROTFL!

Call me strange, but I actually think that's quite charming. Not that I'm reading any romance into it, just more evidence of a certain someone's unshakable courtesy.

I STILL haven't found it-guess I'm gonna have to look online now. I never thought it would be so hard to find this thing, not when I can't go anywhere without someone either commenting on my Wilt statue on my dash or mentioning the show.

Mmm, it does make me wonder what kind of social status that girl had back in high school. :P

CG 03-08-2007 02:13 PM

I couldn't get anyone to take me to my prom; I ended up going with my cousin Vince.

AprilDawn 03-08-2007 02:18 PM

Well, I wish I had someone like Wilt to take me. Mine was a guy older than me who wanted more than to be my date.. :/

But anyway! Hopefully Im going to Target tomorrow since I saw it on their site. Maybe it will be there! :D

jekylljuice 03-08-2007 02:44 PM

I didn't have anyone to take me to my "prom" (if you can call it that). I just sorta hovered about in the background, as did most of my friends. They're not really that big a thing in the UK. :herriman:

It's hard to believe that a girl as attractive, intelligent, outgoing and kind as Frankie would have been overlooked by the guys at her high school, unless they were too freaked out by where she lived. She's not the "wall-flower" type, and she's certainly not an "Ugly Betty", either! She's only 22 now, so it's not like that many years have passed since her senior year in high school(what? 4 or 5 at the most?)for her looks, or her personality, to have changed THAT much. Either her original date changed his mind, or experienced some unfortunate setback that prevented him from going, at the last minute-OR the one she went with was her first choice to begin with. And I bet, that unlike MY prom date, Frankie's did not totally embarrass her by taking bites out of the catered food and putting it back on the serving tray, either! Yeah, mine totally did that.

I just found what is probably the LAST Foster's DVD in the whole state of South Carolina, at the Target in Florence. They's sold out of all but one, and the only reason IT was still there was because someone had picked it up and put it in with the video games, and it caught my eye on the way to the DVD section! Circuit City was sold out. Wal-Greens was sold out(yeah, they have DVD's)-so much for "low expected sales", huh? I'm gonna watch the commentaries later tonight. I also found a large "Craig's Blog" t-shirt at Hot Topic, and there's a new "I (heart)Bloo" t-shirt there, too. The sales clerk said that there were new designs due out soon, and we were both so hoping for one with Wilt!

Voxxyn 03-08-2007 04:42 PM

Well then, that's good to hear. Hopefully I'll find a copy when I hit the retailers tommorow.

Sparky 03-08-2007 05:40 PM

Lol, putting that one comment in a spoiler tag was useless. 8D

Invader Bloo 03-08-2007 05:40 PM

I'm going to K-Mart Sunday, to pick up the new SW figures. Hopefully they'll have some.

Ah ha Wilt fan girls!.... Wait a minute....D'OH!

CURSE YO FRANKIE FOR SAYING THAT & RUINING MY DREAMS CURSE YOOOOOOOOOOOU!

pitbulllady 03-08-2007 06:11 PM

And we find out that Wilt does INDEED have bones, since it's mentioned in the running commentary that he actually BREAKS one(no, not his arm)and has to have X-rays and wear a cast put on by a doctor-poor baby! Believe me, I can SOOOO feel his pain on this one!

Mr. Marshmallow 03-08-2007 09:39 PM

I'm confused about something, and it may sound stupid but until I get the DVD set, I'd like to know something.

The commentaries. Are they done by the actors/writers or are they done by the characters themselves?

Because it kind of sounds like that from what you guys have been saying and I just want to be sure. And are there commentaries for every episode?

It's a character commentary, with Mac, Bloo and Frankie, I believe. I don't yet have the DVD myself (damn this region elitism :frankiemad: ) but from what I can make out it's only for the episode "Store Wars." Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

And pitbulllady, I take your point about Frankie, though I have sometimes wondered if her lifetime of living with imaginary friends ever earned her any social stigma in her teenage years. You know how high school students are. >:(

And ouch, poor Wilt. Broken bones are no fun. It still makes me wince when I remember falling off a climbing frame at the age of 7 and cracking my shoulder bone.
