I was never happy with Coco's original hair but it was the best green hair available at the time. The process of getting everyone out of the old neighborhood and into the new area involved a quick trip through the Create-A-Sim program; just a formality, really, since everyone was already created. They're the same Sims, same characters as before the SecuROM fiasco, not recreations. But I figured that as long as they're passing through the CAS program anyway, is there anything I want to alter? Just Coco's hair and Berry's skin and outfit; no other changes were made. There was another green hairpiece that I considered using which looked very nice but somehow the hair ribbon with the skulls on it seemed pretty out of character. ;)

Fluffer Nutter and Jackie Khones are not currently in the game but could certainly be added later. They're under consideration, as are a number of other characters. Woof is not present at this time for game-related reasons but will be back before long.

Now, one last detail, which takes us back to the Create-A-Sim program. Obviously it can be used to recreate the Foster's cast, and it did a marvelous job on the Sailor Scouts, too, as well as every other Sim you've ever seen in this thread. That includes real people, too, so I will reiterate the offer I made way back on the old forum when this all started; if anyone wants, send me your name, a photo or two to work from, and the information noted back in post #222, I'll make a Sim of you and add you to the Valley's residents. This offer is open to everyone; I do not practice the politics of exclusion. If you're interested, either post a request here or send me a PM and I'll send you further details. I doubt I'll get many takers here; last time out I got a total of four. But it's fun, and it's a pretty good way to meet the Foster's characters, the Sailor Scouts, and each other.

Woohoo! I'm in the process of sending you a PM for this:bloogrin:

antgirl1 12-03-2007 02:46 PM

Me too :D

Bloonan 12-03-2007 03:14 PM

Well, well. It's still on top of the threads. :P
Honestly, I'm glad of the return. Refresh my memory, though, is the yellow one in the middle Cheese or Bendy? :cheese: :bendy:

Sparky 12-03-2007 05:53 PM

I'll do it this time, Cass; I don't get to play with my self-Sim anymore anyways. You have photos of me, right? Here are what my new glasses look like. I don't care how you do my hair though, I'm in the process of growing it back out and should have it back in a ponytail in a month or so.

Cassini90125 12-04-2007 04:08 PM

Seems that I've got a few takers, here. A question for y'all to consider, on the subject of living arrangements; do you all want to be in the same house, or in separate lots? I can do either, and I'm not fussy one way or the other... although the idea of a "Never Forgotten House" does sound amusing. :bloocross: Your call either way.

That would be Bendy; my Cheese Sim looks a lot dopier.

Sparky 12-04-2007 06:19 PM

My vote is that we should all live together. Just to see what happens. 8D

If I ever get around to packaging my self-sim I'll be sure to send along Kiwi.

Bloo2daMacs 12-04-2007 07:58 PM

Ooh! Ooh! I wanna join in on the action! I unfortunately have no real pictures of myself on my compuer, but I could give you a picture of a sim of myself....

It's from the first Sims, the only one that works on my computer, is that okay?

I must agree, that'd be fun! I hope everyone gets along ok. :macwor: 8D

That will be fine, sure. I'll need the info I mentioned back in post #222 as well, of course. You too, AG1, if you're still interested.

It also has the advantage of me having to furnish and decorate only one lot instead of several. :D I'm assuming no one has too much preference for any particular style of architecture so I'll just go ahead and pick one based on size and utility.

I'll be looking for a "Bird doesn't eat seven thousand dollars worth of bird food nineteen times a day" hack. 8D

Okay, I'm going to go run a few errands and have lunch, then I'l fire up Body Shop and see what happens. :)

xxxClaire 12-05-2007 11:57 AM

Oh man. This looks so cool! Can I be in it too? :D

jekylljuice 12-05-2007 12:04 PM

I would love to be involved, though for some incomprehensible reason I think I'd find it a bit squeamish seeing a Sim version of myself in action. Just make me a pet or something, if that's possible.

Lol, I love that hack. ;) I've been searching for it online and can't find it, I could just send you my copy. It keeps the cage permanently clean and stocked with food.

You get used to it. When Fomalhaut made a Sim of me in her game it was a little unnerving at first but not overly so. If you change your mind let me know. :)

The dirty cage I'm fine with; after all, cleaning it builds Cleaning skill. I buy them aquariums for the same reason. I never did get one for Foster's though, probably because I wasn't sure where to put it. Too much furniture in there already. :P

BabyCharmander 12-05-2007 05:41 PM

I'm still a bit of a n00b here but could a Sim of me be in the game? It sounds like fun. XP (A Never Forgotten house would be neat, too!)

Cassini90125 12-06-2007 12:48 AM

We were all n00bs once. ;) Yeah, if you want to join in, you're more than welcome; please see posts #246 and #222 for instructions.

Just so everyone knows, this will take a little time to set up. Hopefully I'll have a few Sims ready before too much longer, then I can get to work on a storyline or two. Remember also that I'm not an artist so when I have the prototypes ready I'll definitely be wanting feedback on what needs to be changed. Don't worry about damaging my ego; I'm not Bloo, I won't whine about being misunderstood. :bloocross:

Cassini90125 12-17-2007 12:47 PM

Ta-da!

Meet six of the residents of the Northwest side of Foster's Valley:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...5/NFSims01.jpg

From left to right: xxxClaire, Linestra, Sparky, Lynnie, x_dummkoff_x, and Imaginary Light. :)

A few notes:

The game does not allow teens to be installed without a parent. There are two ways around this; one can install them as adults and use a game hack to turn them back into teens, or one can use any adults present as parents and use another game hack to sever the relationships after installation. When I installed the Foster's cast I went with the former; five IF's went in as adults and were reverted to either teens or children. As it turns out, the game had some fun at my expense with that; it changed everyone's outfits, and it was a time-consuming pain in the tuckus to redress everyone the way they were supposed to be dressed. So for the Forum Sims here, I went with the latter approach. Congratulations to Sparky and Lynnie; you each have two teenage daughters. 8D Yes, it's only temporary, you will all be unrelated again after I find y'all a six-bedroom house. In the meantime, I'll let you speculate on who got custody of who. 8D

Personalities still require a little tweaking, and interests have not been set, but that will take no significant effort. I have no idea what everyone's Lifetime Wants are at this point, as they aren't created until a Sim is actually moved in. When I know I'll inform y'all; like everything else they can be changed if requested, no problem.

If there is anything you'd like your Sim to be doing or avoiding or any goals you want her to work on, by all means let me know, either here or via PM. Also, please remember that Sims do have a measure of free will, they can be very stubborn sometimes, and I generally let them make their own decisions, therefore management is not responsible when they do something spectacularly embarrassing before I can stop them. I'll use my discretion when posting, of course. ;)

The Valley isn't full, by the way, so if anyone else wants to get in on the fun, by all means let me know; it's a standing offer with no expiration date and as I said before, open to all. :)

Finally, you may have noted that the six Forum Sims seen here are all female; this was true in the earlier game, too. No guys ever send me a PM saying "I want in! Here's my pic and stats!" Lots of ways to interpret or misinterpret that fact; I'll leave it to your imaginations to play with. 8D

Excuse me while I now go house-hunting. :D

Imaginary Light 12-17-2007 01:12 PM

Oooh, how exciting is this? I can't wait to see the adventures that ensue 8D

Nyo 12-17-2007 01:47 PM

I love SimSparky's pants, lol.

Sparky 12-17-2007 03:27 PM

You're free to make my Sim overweight, I'd prefer it really. In my own game I was forced to make her exercise until she was fit because it was a requirement for her job. :P But whatever.

Lol at having daughters. "You are all my children!" 8D

Lynnie 12-17-2007 06:57 PM

Yay! Aw,that's so cool! I'm also amused at having two teenaged daughters, especially when my Sim is only suppose to be in her mid/late 20s, Lol, ah, games are fun. 8D *sends them both a hug*

And yeah, we need some guys involved! Come on gentlemen, it'll be fun!

Looking forward to some adventures. :)

xxxClaire 12-18-2007 03:49 PM

8D This is so exciting!

Ignate 12-19-2007 04:03 AM

Wow, I went trough the whole thing at once, and I have to say this is awesome.
I'll try to PM you when I have the time. But for the moment, well done.

Two ways to do that; SimPE or or Red's Famous 50's Diner. ;D

All 27 pages?? Dang, that must've taken some time. :wiltshock:

Uh, I found a house:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...25/NFHouse.jpg

Not too fancy and it needs a little work but it will hold 6-8 Sims, has room for a driveway, fits the storyline, and best of all my system doesn't complain when I load it. :D 6-8 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, open-plan living/dining area, spacious kitchen, and a den/study/work area, all for under $30,000, which proves that Sim economics don't work the same way ours do. 8D

Lynnie 12-19-2007 07:04 PM

Ooh, sure wish this house was in the real world. 8-) $30,000, eh? Yeah, that doesn't sound bad to me. In my area you'd be lucky to find a 30 year old 3bed/2bath with no yard for that much. The cost of living is ridiculous up here. As is housing. ::)

I'm sure Lynnie Sim will be more than happy to help fix it up. :)

Invader Bloo 12-20-2007 05:19 PM

Hey Cassini do me! Maybe as a roomie to some of the other RPers. :slybendy:
I don't have any pics but here's what I look like:
Blue eyes, short-ish brown hair, regular size.

I'll be needing the info noted back in post #222, too. And you would so be in your own room. 8D

I'm sure Lynnie Sim will be more than happy to help fix it up. :)

The final price, with cheap but reasonably comfortable furniture, came to $63,317. To save time (and avoid any charges of favoritism), every bedroom is the same size and all are identically furnished in the same theme - "Yellow". The house is located three doors away from Foster's. The original model had no second floor and was a little narrower, at least until I went into Build Mode and got adventurous. :D Pics to come shortly, at which point you will discover that my knowledge of interior decorating is exceeded only by my knowledge of everything else. Yes, I will redecorate upon request. ;)

Everyone has been installed, by the way, and the game has assigned everybody's "Lifetime Wants", which is your Sim's goal in life, more or less:

Lynnie: Marry off 6 children
Sparky: Become a Celebrity Chef
Imaginary Light: Earn $100,000
Linestra: Reach the top of the Law Enforcement career
X_dummkoff_x: Reach the top of the Journalism career
xxxClaire: Reach the top of the Gamer career

These can be changed, like everything else, through the miracle of game hacks. ;D

Lol, that's what it is in my game too. I was thinking if I ever reached the top of the novelist career she's in now, I'll have her start over in the culinary career. GM's Sim has already achieved his LW, to be a mad scientist. Now he can really compete with his rival, Professor Membrane across the street. ;)

Cassini90125 12-20-2007 07:02 PM

"Novelist" career? Something you downloaded from MTS2, I presume?

Sparky 12-20-2007 07:10 PM

Yeah. My game is quite heavily modded.

Cassini90125 12-20-2007 07:16 PM

Ha, your's and mine both. :D I've only added a few custom careers though; none are in use at the moment. I'd love to know if it's possible to create new, fully functionable Lifetime Wants but I haven't found anything on the SimPE site about it.

Sparky 12-20-2007 07:19 PM

Yeah that I don't know. But since I have so many Sims that are characters from specific sources, I download custom careers a lot to try and match them up as best as possible. I may even try to make my own someday, but then again I'm not really playing Sims these days.

LOL! Six?? Hmm, when I was little and had my own imaginary friends (and imaginary husband), I had nine kids. I still remember all their names- Anna, Lisa, Bobby, Lilli-Anna, Nichola, Michelle, Helen, Joey, and Melody. I still have most of those dolls, too.

Hehe, no need to change her lifetime want. I think it fits her pretty well. 8D

Every career has ten levels, each with it's own title. In the Gamer career, at level one you are officially known as a "n00b". 8D

Some shots of the house

The upper floor:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...HouseUpper.jpg

As I said the other day, all of the bedrooms are identical. Each is furnished with a bed, dresser, desk, and chair; if you want anything else it comes out of the family budget. Different color schemes available on request. I haven't assigned rooms as yet.

The lower floor:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...HouseLower.jpg

The red and green rooms are not currently used for anything but Ignate will be in the green one unless he wishes to live elsewhere. The other room will probably have an imported Indian bubble blower at some point.

The immediate neighborhood:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...HouseLocal.jpg

On the near right is the home of miss Amanda Blue, who's picture is elsewhere in this thread. Further to the right lives Dmitri Chalkovich, who once got into a slap fight with Blake Superior; the neighborhood is still gossiping about the incident, with Mr. Herriman being the worst gossip of all, largely because he was there in the park the day it happened. On the left, off the screen, is where Mac's family lives; further up the street are the other cast member's homes, the town center, several families you've never seen before, and Foster's itself.

This promises to be an interesting game, to say the least. :bloocross:

xxxClaire 12-21-2007 02:25 PM

The house looks pretty good! I like the yellow bedrooms! :P

8D That's hilarious!

Sparky 12-21-2007 02:46 PM

I like the yellow bedrooms too. And I fear all our Sims trying to share only two bathrooms... :wiltshock:

And I totally hate those stupid bubble blowers. I can tell you already that my Sim won't leave it alone if you put it in.
