Gorgeous!

Cassini90125 02-17-2008 09:27 PM

My thanks to all.

Some of you saw the pics I did recently of my Sailor Jupiter Sim imposed over different background images. Well, if I can do something like that for Lita then obviously I've got to do something similar for Frankie sooner or later, and this is what I came up with. I know it looks like I'm trying to deify her or something but really, that's not my intent; I just wanted to do something special for her. Anyway, here it is:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...0125/FCIRX.jpg

The original pic came from my Sims 2 game; the background is from NASA. The finished pic was produced with Paint. I was really happy with how this turned out.

frankie_fan 02-17-2008 10:17 PM

Cool! Frankie looks like she's struting the catwalk!

Medikor 02-18-2008 06:27 AM

That flash of light behind Frankie makes it look like she's coming from the stars or something. Very nice, Cass.:D

Howard 02-18-2008 12:17 PM

Nicely done Cass! Frankie looks real great struttin' her stuff!

She is sweet, nice and if a imaginary friend needs help she is ready to help him/her/it at the moment. She is not greedy or mean. She is perfect(for me like I said) , so... FRANKIE RULZZZ!!!

Dragonrider1227 04-30-2008 11:52 AM

If you're referring to Hinata4's current sig image, it's from Store Wars.

You know that's the funny thing about liking a character so much. You find that even things that are not supposed to be cute or likable look REALLY sexy on a character. Like when Frankie was dumped in butter and being hugged to death by Bloo and Eduardo in "Cheese a-go-go". I just thought she looked cute like that.

And even though she was crapping her panties in the "Blooooo!" episode from being locked out, I kind of thought she looked cute even being freaked in that episode too. Only time that something bad happened to her I didn't like at all was obviously, with Goofball's antics forcing her to scrub the floor for the "depressing montage".

Cassini90125 04-30-2008 01:05 PM

I didn't much care for the "I'm such a loser" scene in that revisionistic The Little Peas, either, although Gooftard was certainly worse. But you're absolutely right about how feelings can make a difference when you look at someone. I've alread posted about that subject regarding a woman I used to know named Beth so I won't repeat that here. Another example I know of comes from an episode of Frasier, during the story arc where Daphne gained an awful lot of weight. Everyone could see it except Niles, but maybe he just didn't care; he was seeing the woman he loved, who he'd been in love with for so long. Who she was had become more important than how she looked, and no matter how heavy she got she'd always be beautiful to him. There's an important lesson in there about how human beings see each other.

Medikor 04-30-2008 02:23 PM

I'm sure a certain percentage of Frankie's cuteness may come from Mr. Mackracken's penchant for cute characters (the Powerpuff Girls come to mind). But, as been stated countless times before, the wonderful personality that was made part of her character is what really draws you in.:D

Cassini90125 04-30-2008 02:27 PM

Exactly my point, dude.

Howard 04-30-2008 03:44 PM

I think if it were anyone else but Grey Delisle breathing life into Frankie Foster (Personality), I would never watch the show.

I think Frankie is overlooked at times by the foster crew, she gets way less self-centered episodes than the other characters. She has been giving a bit less screentime in some eps and none at all. I think its because more children are attractied to the IF's than the human characters. But the adults like me like the human characters like frankie because of the lifelike personality they have.

I swear that some people in IR are like frankie.

(Frankie's 2008 Valentine's Day card goes here)

You know, I honestly don't remember. I've got so many screencaps and other pics of her that it's hard to keep track of where they all came from. That particular pic was altered, by the way; in the original pic her eyes were looking to the left instead of toward us.

Dragonrider1227 05-01-2008 05:29 PM

Ah, I had a feeling it was altered when I took a closer look at it. Still cool :D

Mr. Marshmallow 05-02-2008 10:43 AM

I'm sorry I missed that photo earlier, very nice job as always Cass! That's actually a very lovely pic of Frankie, I like it much better then the generic one wikipedia has of her with that red lip line she always has. Always nice to see my name associated with supporting Frankie valentine's day love.

The photo looks great, as always, Frankie's mailbox would probably explode with the amount of love pictures and dedication images you've made for her Cass.

Just trying to say "I love you" to someone who means the world to me. Giving of myself is the best way I know how. It feels pretty good doing it, too.

Here's a pic I didn't make:

Sorry about the low quality and the watermark, both of which were deliberate on my part, as was adding my name at the bottom; I don't want random guests running off copies of this one. It's one-of-a-kind and pretty dang special; Craig drew her for me at Comic Con last year. In the original picture she's facing to the right; what you see above is a mirror image, flipped with Paint. Definitely a treasure, just like the lady it depicts. :-*

frankie_fan 05-09-2008 12:39 AM

That was nice of him! I never get that kind of treatment, even though I have a brother-in-law that works at Warner Bros. in California!

Shelltoon 05-09-2008 12:52 AM

Cass, you are so lucky... I wish I could have something special from the crew. ;.;

Partymember 05-09-2008 04:46 PM

WOW!

very very cool

Medikor 05-10-2008 06:49 AM

Now that's a treasure and a half, Cass! Very special indeed.

I think that's the perfect gift for a Frankie fan such as yourself, it's a great picture. Really sweet of Craig do draw that for you, absolutely.

When you think about it, in giving us the show he gave us all something that's pretty special.

He drew something for each of our group that requested it. I only spoke with him briefly but he struck me as a really decent guy, someone who with a few strokes of a pencil creates a magic all his own and is happy to share that magic with the rest of us. In creating Foster's he created something wonderful for all of us, in all of the characters residing in that crazy house, but for me his most wonderful character is and will always be Frankie. Maybe I'll tell him why someday.

I've occasionally mentioned that no pic is safe from me and my trusty copy of Paint; stars know I've littered this site with enough images to prove it. :bloocross: Naturally, having scanned Craig's sketch onto my hard drive, I started to wonder what I could do with it. Eventually I dreamed up a halfway decent idea and got to work. The image was cleaned up to remove anything that wasn't black or white; every shade of grey became either one or the other. After that, gaps in the image were closed, forming a solid, unbroken outline. A little smoothing and touch-up of the lines and curves followed, after which color was added; red for her hair, green for her jacket, etc. A quick hunt online located a suitable background image; too large, really, but a few quick clicks and it shrunk to exactly the size I needed, 1024x768 pixels. I made Craig's drawing of Frankie transparent, moved it around on the background until I had the positioning right, and at that point I was pretty much done. A little more touch-up work, and that was it. Click to save. The end result is my new desktop wallpaper:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...125/ffwp02.jpg

Looks better at full size and without the watermark. I am very happy with how this turned out; I hope you guys like it, too.

Medikor 05-14-2008 09:43 AM

I was wondering if you were going to copy that drawing and colour it in. I'm glad you did because it looks great.:D

Partymember 05-14-2008 03:13 PM

very nice, awesome coloring :)

Howard 05-14-2008 03:36 PM

Very nice coloring Cass. I love the background too.

Lynnie 05-14-2008 07:42 PM

That's beautiful, Cass. You're so lucky to have such a great work from Craig himself. But then, I'm sure you already know that. ;) Don't forget to remember to treasure it always. And always.

jekylljuice 05-15-2008 08:10 AM

Beautiful colouring there, Cass, I'm sure it will make a fine desktop wallpaper. And yes, I agree with Lynnie, you are certainly very lucky to have received such a beautiful drawing from Craig himself - couldn't have happened to a more deserving fan of Frankie's.

xxxClaire 05-15-2008 06:43 PM

Wow, that's awesome! I love the colouring!

BluebottleFlyer 05-21-2008 02:55 AM

That's brilliant, Cass, love what you've done there. Frankie fits into that background perfectly.

Ditto what Lynnie said. Something like that, you just can't buy.:)

Frankie foster has got to be one of tv's biggest most lovable chartacters that the human mind can come up with, She has everything man wants, class, confidence, toughness and charm. If it wasn't for frankie id never give fosters a second look. Let me tell you a story of how i got to bel-air (Joking lol)

Let me tell you a story on how i come to fall in love with frankie foster. it all started when we flew up to missuri to visit my sister, we stayed in a hotel that night and my little nephew and neice were watching cartoons on the tv, i was there just listening to my ipod while browsing the internet on my sisters computer. I was becoming a little bored waiting for a flash animation to load up so i took a peek at the tv and took my headphones off hearing the fosters theme song wondering what kind of pile of fail cartoon network has created now. My niece and nephew went with my parents to go down to the snack machine. As i started seeing the show i don't remember which ep was showing but a little bit into it i was thinking stuff like: phh man this show sucks, but then thats when i saw HER:frankiesmile: coming on screen saying something like: hey guys whats up?

Thats when the show really caught my attention, i began to watch the show a lil more watching parts with frankie in it, and thats when the first time i fell in love with a cartoon character.

For the whoel day i couldn't get her out of my head, No one really noticed but somehow thinking about her always motivated me and made my day brighten more.

So thats when i found my place in bel-air "ahem" frankie-air "cough"

Fosters home for imaginary friends.

Theres no other character on the show that i like but her.

FRANKIE FOR PREZ 2008

The drawing is a wonderful gift from Craig, Cassini-- it looks great! As does your work with it to transform it into a beautiful desktop. Very sharp indeed.
