I got my economic stimulus check a few minutes ago. Definitely made my day.

Oh did you? When did you file? GM filed early and has not gotten a check yet, he was just assuming he wasn't getting one for some reason.

My accountant handled it so I'm not certain but I think it was back in March. Date of mailing is determined by the recipient's Social Security number; could be that his number hasn't come up yet. Here's the schedule:

I found out tonight that my local Walgreens has rehired it's former manager, a good friend of mine who was well-liked by the entire staff. That made a lot of people happy. :)

On another completely unrelated matter, I tried a method for doing a clean install for my Sims 2 game to limit filesize and reduce the number of files and loading time, and it worked like a charm. ;D

Add that to the stimulus check I mentioned earlier and this is turning out to be a pretty dang good day.

My family had a long vacation with my parent’s best friends up in New Hampshire. It was a college reunion with three families. Each family has kids, and as we said our goodbyes, the youngest of the children (four years old. His name is Sam) ran up to me, gave me a gigantic bear hug and said in a gut-wrenchingly cute voice, “I miss you.” I was tearing up and I didn’t want to let go of him. Also, he was adopted from Russia, and Russian kids are adorable, so it was ten times as cute. That made my WEEK. Sam now knows my weakness. I’m scared now.

What made my weekend? Finding out that my sister's out of town...therefore...a quiet weekend.

When I saw this post my first thought was that it was spam - after all it is one word, screamed in allcaps. A moment's thought however absolved it as possibly the best response anyone could have to the question "what made your day?"

So bravo. (Still, don't make a habit of spam-type posts.)
