I also think that theory is well worth bearing in mind. Of course, if it is true, it would be a sign that pandering to base too much is a bad thing. I may or may not have remembered to include this during the episode discussion.

As for myself, I could totally see myself as an annoying IF who gets no notice at Fosters. Totally.

Dragonrider1227 12-04-2007 12:10 PM

I missed that episode. Frankie cried and called herself a loser? Aww, poor thing :'(

Mr. Marshmallow 12-08-2007 03:40 PM

Okay, "Frankie my dear" was just on like a couple days ago, or yesterday, anyway I didn't have the time to watch all of it because I was busy with other things but as I watched it again, I was really amazed at something I found out. I was SO touched by seeing Frankie's little "tipsy dance" when she felt she was in love.

I think it truly was a credit to DeLisle by speaking in such an adorable, cutesy voice when Frankie was all lovey dovey and what not. It's virtually a pointless and minor thing to talk about, but I never realized how rare it is to see Frankie in a genuinely care free mood, no stress or worries or temper tantrums when she was dancing like that.

I just thought it was the cutest damn thing I had seen on the show. This is probably pretty "minor" in terms of stuff to talk about for Frankie's appreciation thread, but I felt this was a somewhat needed change from all the depressing talk about her getting crapped on thanks to the "Peas" episode.

Cassini90125 12-08-2007 03:51 PM

It was very cute, yeah. It does make me wonder what it would be like to hang out with her on one of her rare days off, away from the House and all the worries and responsibilities that go with it. To be honest, I don't think she'd really be all that different than the Frankie we all know and love, just... well, I hate to say "Sunnier" but it's the word that's stuck in my head right now. I'd love to see a few more good "awww" moments like that on the show.

Xroc88 12-08-2007 03:55 PM

Frankie owns every character on the show hands down!!!!!

I actually think it would be different because she wouldn't have to worry about anything. In fact, if you look at ALL of Frankie's free days or free moments, she ends up getting stressed about something because something ends up bugging her. Even on her date with Dylan, she seemed genuinely "free" until Orlando Bloo showed up.

What I liked about that little tipsy scene was for a brief minute or so, Frankie was totally cleaned out of any fear of responsibility in her head. Which for her is a miracle another one of the reasons I liked it. Frankie even told Mac in "Squeeze" how lucky he is that he doesn't have ass loads of responsibilities to pile on his head and ruin his fun days.

That whole beach thing alone was another example of a stress free Frankie that ended up causing problems. Although it was kind of worth it to see Wilt end up being responsible for something so mysterious it got them all banned for the beach :bendy: something about that mystery to it makes it all worth wild.

Cassini90125 12-08-2007 04:32 PM

I don't think she'd be different in that she'd seem like she was someone else, like the Pod People or something. It would still be the same Frankie, just relaxed and carefree, same as if you or me or anyone had our burdens lifted for a time. We'd all be happy, and that's what would show, but our underlying personalities would be the same. Like I think, for instance, that on a carefree day off, Frankie would be just as quick with a wry comment or sarcastic answer, but the character of such a response would be more playful, more of a teasing kind of thing that something with a "get off my back and let me work" tone, if that makes any sense, and you would see and hear the difference in her smile and her voice. In that regard she might seem very different but she'd still be the same Frankie.

Medikor 12-08-2007 05:08 PM

It is nice to see Frankie so carefree and happy. I was glad (if a little jealous) that someone/something could make her so happy.
It's always a joy when she has a cute moment like that or when she went all fan-girl about Madame Foster's actions. And lets not forget her whole "I'm sowwy, Mr. Harriman" line. One of my favorites will always be when she was overwhelmed by the comfort of that massage chair.

Cassini90125 12-08-2007 05:15 PM

I tried one of those chairs last year; can't say I blame her at all.

Yeah, that "I'm sowwy, Mr. Harriman" line cracks me up everytime I hear it. You could tell she was having a lot of fun with that... although I'm pretty sure Mr. Herriman wasn't. 8D

That was beyond cute, it was just too much fun to see and hear. Hell, if anyone said it like Frankie did it'd be hard as Hell not to laugh at it.

I remember they brought that back for the Scribbles episode.

"I said I was sowwy"

"Yes will being 'sowwy' doesn't cut it" 8D

Cassini90125 12-08-2007 10:43 PM

I used it once myself, in that short bit I wrote about Frankie, Madame Foster, and Mr. Herriman playing Scrabble. It's one of those lines that once you hear it you never forget it.

Cassini90125 01-19-2008 03:53 PM

I went to my local Walgreens earlier today, as I do almost everyday. As you might expect at this time of year, they have an isle chock-full of Valentine's Day goodies. Seems that all of it reminds me of Frankie in some way. I look at a box of chocolates and I think of her going crazy over Madame Foster's cookies in Cookie Dough. All the red packaging reminds me of the color of her hair, of course. Then there's the crystal; every piece of sculpted or spun glass, when it catches the light at the right angle, makes me think of the sparkle in her smile and her eyes. Every verse on every card seems like it's something I'd want to say to her. And all the plushies with their arms outstretched like they want to be held, they remind me of how much I'd like to hold her, to share a few moments of the warmth I feel for her. But even without all the merchandise around, Valentine's Day still makes me think about Frankie more than usual, because it's a day about love, pure and simple, uncluttered by the nonsense that permeates the other holidays, a wonderful day when you can look in the eyes of that special person you know and say, "Today is all about you and nothing but you, and you are so worth it." So for me, at least, Valentine Day is all about Frankie, and no one but Frankie. And she is so worth it. :-*

Mr. Marshmallow 01-20-2008 02:20 PM

Truth be told, Valentine's day has never been a big holiday of mine. Most likely due to the fact that as far back as I can remember, I have never had anyone that I could truly share valentine's day with. When it comes around I don't really feel too sad about it since I've gotten used to it for such a long time.

Maybe someday when I do find a woman I can love and share things, valentine's day can share a deeper meaning as I really would like to. As weird as it sounds, I look forward to the day that I have someone I can blows wads of cash on to buy chocolates, cheesy love cards, and flowers for someone. That's a situation I still to this day look forward to.

I personally have to commend you Cass for housing such a strong love for Frankie that you can associate so much with her. I do the same with Sailor Jupiter but not through Valentine's day. Its nice to see someone being so passionate towards something and finding that passion in the simplest things.

Probably the most comforting I think about with Frankie and valentine's day is that you don't have to worry about buying the wrong kind of flowers or doing anything super extravagant for her. Frankie is the kind of person that would appreciate the simplest of gestures with great affection and a person who can do that truly is worth spending money AND time on.

rossfellow 02-05-2008 04:11 PM

I just realized that DeviantART has no respect for Frankie whatsoever.

Dear lord.

Forgive my ignorance but when did this happen? I always found some pretty decent (and quite attractive) pictures of Frankie on Deviantart.

So I have to ask, what kind of disrespectful art drawings are you guys referring to?

Cassini90125 02-05-2008 06:51 PM

It's perhaps best if I don't go into that. :frankiemad: But yeah, there is some good Frankie art on DA; I made my avatar from one such picture, by an artist named Jagg17 as I recall. The full-size picture prints very well; an 8.5x11 copy of it is framed and sitting on a display table in my living room.

Xroc88 02-06-2008 04:58 AM

Why is there like nude photos of her or something? i never saw anything direspectful in there either about her.

Cassini90125 02-06-2008 06:52 AM

That and worse, and let's drop this topic and move on now, okay? :frankiemad:

I think everyone is referring to this...

Which as they said is the very sad truth, but then again this sort of thing is nothing new as many a cartoon lady has been objectified in such a manner, over and over again.

For what reason? I don't know and quite frankly I don't want to know or even care. I'll just ignore it and concentrate on supporting those artists who bring actual creativity to the table (IE Everyone on this very forum) rather then supporting those who rely on pure shock value in order to get a few hits or pageviews.

I had some comments on the whole Deviant Art subject but I guess I'll put them away for now. Back on on topic, has there been any dolls of Frankie made?

Don't I wish. I'd drain my savings account for a Frankie Barbie but Mattel has not seen fit to create one. It's really too bad, too; they did a truly spectacular job when they made a Barbie version of Daphne from Scooby-Doo, and if they made a Frankie of that quality, she'd be almost beyond belief. :-*

Xroc88 02-07-2008 05:35 AM

I would co-op with frankie on guitar hero 3.

Medikor 02-07-2008 02:30 PM

Don't you have a custom made Frankie plushie, Cass? It's a shame that Fosters didn't didn't hit merchandising in a big way. But even if it did I doubt anyone other than the Fosters five and Cheese would be made into toys, dolls and play sets.:(

I do indeed have a Frankie plushie, and a Frankie pillow that Sparky made for my birthday. Both get cuddled a lot.

In general I think that regardless of which character it is, the homemade Foster's memorabilia is of better quality than most of the commercially made stuff. You won't find anything like these two items with a Mattel or CN label on them, and even if you do they could never match the sentimental value. Hand-knitted yarn and felt mean more than factory-made silk anyday.

Medikor 02-08-2008 05:57 AM

And no lead paint ether!8D

Howard 02-08-2008 01:53 PM

Cass,

Those are such great things to have. The plushie I have seen before, and that is the cutest thing! The pillow is the first time, and I think Sparky did a bang up job on it! I wish she could knit me one!

Cassini90125 02-14-2008 08:48 AM

So, who wants their name on Frankie's Valentine's Day card? It's done and it's being posted tonight, so say so here or PM me fast if you want to be included. Of course, some of you are pretty obviously going to say "Yes, add me, add me!", and your names are already on the list. PM me anyway just to be certain; besides, lots of PM's make me feel special. 8D

Medikor 02-14-2008 09:16 AM

It goes without saying but I'd love to be on that valentine project of yours, Cass. I can't wait to see it tonight.:D

Mr. Marshmallow 02-14-2008 01:41 PM

I don't think you even need to ask me, or get a PM from me.

My signature pic says it all .

frankie_fan 02-14-2008 05:27 PM

Do you even have to ask?? Of course I do, Cass!!

Mr. Marshmallow 02-14-2008 07:11 PM

Very Nice :D!

That outer space wallpaper still looks nice and that's a beautiful quote at the top. Good Frankie pic you used too and I always appreciate you including all our names in the "Frankie love list".

My only comment would be the text style used for the names is kind of hard to read. Other then that, always love seeing your Frankie styled work.

It wasn't hard to read for me!

Lynnie 02-14-2008 09:35 PM

Aw man, I would have gotten my name on that. But I got here too late. Hmm, I'll send my name to it telepathically. *poof* There it is! It's just invisible

And no, "invisible" is not the same as "imaginary". They're two different things. 8D

Very nice, Cass. It's lovely. Hope everyone had a good V-day.

Medikor 02-15-2008 05:18 AM

I love that pic of Frankie you chose, Cass. She looks so sweet. I already can't wait to see what you make next year!:D

Cass, that is one beautiful card! I think we all know who the REAL Frankie fans are (even the ones that did not submit their names, but still show up to pay homage to our revered redhead).

I have a list 8D. Seriously, I almost didn't bother asking, as I'm pretty clear on who really cares about her and respects her, but it never hurts to double-check. One never knows if someone new might want to be included.

The image of the Rosette Nebula is courtesy of the guys at NASA, who's pics of stars, planets, and other jewels in the sky have provided wonderful backgrounds for many different subjects. The pic of Frankie is from Everyone Knows It's Bendy, with a few minor alterations. I considered doing this year's card with my very photogenic Frankie Sim but decided that the original would probably be more appropriate for this thread.

Glad everyone enjoyed it.
