PREPARE FOR LINKDUMP OF MUZAK

I have too many favorite pieces of videogame music. Let's see...

Monster Hunter Freedom 2/Unite - White Fatalis
I love Monster Hunter. All of the songs in Monster Hunter are good, but this one takes the cake.

Team Fortress 2 - Right Behind You
Sinister to the extreme, and from one of my favorite games. I like.

Mario and Luigi : Bowser's Inside Story - Final Boss
Partners in Time had a mediocre final boss tune, so it's good they up for that mistake with this one.

Half Life 2 : Episode 2 - Vortal Combat (VLVX_song22)
This one perfectly compliments the situation it plays in. KILL DEM ANTLIONS

Jazz Jackrabbit 2 - Boss Battle Music 1
JJ2 was one of the very first videogames I ever played. It's also among my favorites still. This boss music is one such reason why.

Cave Story - Scorching Back
I've always liked this one. It really provides a feeling of urgency where it plays, and it's catchy too.

Jazz Jackrabbit 3D - Castle City
Though the game was ultimately scrapped and cancelled, some of the music from it was amazing. This particular gem shines out.

Neotokyo - Tin Soldiers
Hello somewhat obscure Source mod soundtrack. This song doesn't even play in the game, mostly because the players would be unable to concentrate on their shooting with these 9 minutes of awesome playing in the background.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon : Explorers of time/darkness/sky - Dialga Battle
Not much to say about this one.

Left 4 Dead 2 - Re: Your Brains
This sometimes plays on jukeboxes scattered about the game. It's chorus summons a horde, too, making it even more ironic (And hilarious). It's also written by the same guy who wrote Still Alive.

Kirby 64 - Miracle Matter
FFFFFFFFFF- I still hate this guy. By far one of the best pieces of music in a Kirby game though.

...That isn't even half of my list. Good lord.

Mario Tune

LOL on 'Kidstube?!?'

EDIT: And ANY Kingdom Hearts song!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oku0yZ84RuI (Zelda theme, Donkey Konga)

Fantastic! So, dramatic, so.... awesome!
Memorable, and beautifully played, featuring horns, keyboard, strings, guitar, cowbell and others- it gives it a Latin/jazz feel.

A major one I forgot-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EV77owpNVcg (Yoshmitshu, Tekken 2)
A beautiful and very haunting piece, which starts slowly, builds tension and a techno beat kicks in, with a big key change, resulting in an excellent and spooky piece of art.

With the recent announcement of Mega Man 10, several great remixes of the theme of the game have been made. This has become one of my fave Mega Man themes EVER.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7q55uFAk7M

It almost feels like a perfect marriage of the 8-bit Mega Man style music with the 16-bit Mega Man X style music. Yummy!

On a related note, how great was Splash Woman! She had one of the most mesmerizingly beautiful (and still epic) stage themes a water level has ever had.

Just listening to my I-Pod and came across some more of my favorite video game tracks both old and new.

Game: Shantae: Risky's Revenge (DSi)
Track: Scuttle Town
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgphuoZMIM8

A very catchy tune that fits well with the exotic atmosphere of this Metroid styled platformer, the coolest thing about this song is about 28 seconds in the music sounds a bit like Dick Dale's classic tune "Misirlou"

Game: Tekken 3 (ps1)
Track: Opening Movie
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbK8fWyY-c8

Awesome synthesized theme that really gets the blood pumping, and one of the few opening movies that I rarely ever skip while playing this game.

Game: Spider Man (ps1)
Track: Opening Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jIt0KdpHOZ0

A pretty cool rendition of one the most iconic cartoon themes of all time.

Game: Y's Seven (PSP)
Track: Boss Theme
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-CLYKYqZJ0w

Electric Guitars used in boss battle music tracks are always cool, but when you add violins to the mix the cool factor is increased by twelve thousand.

Game: Sakura Wars: So Long My Love (Wii and PS2)
Track: Go Go NYCR! (New York Combat Review)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEZFyKpbPoc

And lastly here's one from my current video game obsession, a very up tempo number that is used as one of the game's battle themes. I like it not only for the swinging sound, but also just for the sheer absurdity of blowing up giant robots to such a jazzy tune.

I felt the need to resurrect this thread, due to playing so many games since the last post. So, here are my favourites in no particular order:

Game: Wolfenstein: The New Order
Track: The New Order
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtwvEBxrB54
If you ever wanted to know what would happen if the Nazis truly won World War II, this is the game for you. This track (which plays in the main menu) truly sets the mood for the game, and the experience you'll get once you see the Nazi-occupied world.

Game: Team Fortress 2
Track: MEDIC!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6NQx4WRRg0
As much rage as this game gives me at times, I can't help but admire the characters and music in this game. Not only is this piece of awesomeness great on its own, but if you watch the short that first featured this music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36lSzUMBJnc), it'll give you every reason to go Medic on your team!!

Game: Fable
Track: Oakvale
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7Axe5wU33k
As I mentioned in a previous post about this, THIS is how you do music for a fantasy setting! I have nothing against other pieces of music for fantasy overall, but this really is a wonderful piece that sets the scenery for the whole game.

Game: Rhythm Heaven (DS)
Track: Tears of a Dog Ninja
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A67fTNF-kz8
I LOVE the rhythm and timing of this track. Combined with the slicing action that you do in the game, not to mention that it's insanely catchy, this is truly one of the best tracks of the game.

There will be more, this is just all I can think of for now.
