I can recall seeing ads in the newspaper TV section for it, but never really paid much attention, since I basically associated Cartoon Network with Anime, and I am just not a fan of that genre(no offense, many Anime fans out there). I was really introduced to the show, and to Wilt in particular, by some of the members of the Boggs Board, who also had some Foster's fanart on Deviant Art. I kept seeing posts mentioning Foster's, especially regarding the similarities to a certain Pixar movie, and I kept seeing fanart featuring this tall, lanky red thing with this huge grin on its face, which reminded me of Randall's equally large grin. It was only upon taking a closer look at the art work that I noticed that this tall red thing was missing his left arm, and had suture scars there from an obvious amputation, and that one eye looked "funny'. I also found out that the owner of that stubby arm and huge grin was called "Wilt", and he was supposed to be a really likeable character, so I got intrigued enough to start watching the show. The first episode I ever saw was "Partying is Such Sweet Soiree", and I got hooked, not just on the show, but on the Wilt-Man! Everything about him-the grin, the infectious good nature, the helpfulness, the walk, the silky-smooth voice-just grabbed me. I guess, as I've explained, Wilt appeals to some deep, primal female instinct in that personality-wise, talent-wise, athletic-wise etc., he represents the Perfect Male, in spite of not even being human! In a sense he IS human, though, since he was created by a human child, and no doubt there has to be human DNA incorporated in there somewhere, and he certainly has a very human soul, complete with weaknesses. The fact that he's almost the exact opposite of me, in terms of personality, and that there's so much about him we don't know, makes him even more intriguing, a mystery to be figured out. What more could a gal want?

Nothing more. :D

To me, Wilt is like...a father to the imaginaries, like Frankie is like the big sister. He (at least I think) knows right from wrong, what he should/shouldn't do, is mature, (VERY good thing to have) has common sence, y'know, that sort of stuff.

Although he has these traits, he also has this fun-loving side that most children possess. This could cause him to play sports as a hobby (or possibly more), hang out with his friends, stay in touch with the good side of things, etc.

Basicly, I think Wilt's mind is split in half - one side is adult, and the other kid-like.

When I watched an episode of Foster's for the first time and saw Wilt I was like, "WOAH, this guy looks COOL." (I've always been attracted to tall, skinny guy characters...o.O) Then I watched more, loved his personality, attitude and CATCHPHRASE. "I'm sorry!" Then I looked up Foster's on the internet, and there was no going back after that. 8D

You know, I always held onto that "his name is Wilt" thing, since AS SOON AS I SAW THE WILT AD, I went where? The website! 8D And his name was Wilt. But the way I pronounce it, it sounds like this: Wilt. Mostly in words I don't say the "T" sound as loud as the others. I wonder if that sound is known as "weak T"...XDDD

Nope, he blushes magenta. You would've known that if you played the adoption game in Cartoon Network La in 2004. XD And no, I didn't screencap it. I regret not doing that. :(

I'm a Wilt/Frankie fan, too!:D

Hope that ain't to long:P

You press the qoute button at the bottom of the post you want to quote.

I saw Foster's the first time it aired (me already ebing a CN fan), I fell in love with Bloo & Wilt. Some of the others took the next episode to fall in love with. (Coco, Mac, Ed, Frankie). Bloo & wilt are lucky!

Slightly OT here, but what does that look like? Anyone got a screenshot? I mean, he's already red...

That pretty much describes MOST adult human males, LOL! Most guys I know, even those with kids of their own, can be really silly and immature at times, and then again, when the situation calls for acting grown-up and in-charge, they're there. Then again, who am I to talk, when I watch animated tv shows and collect spiders? Wilt really isn't that atypical of an adult human male, other than his tendency to say "the 'S' Word", which for some reason, many human males have issues with.

This was part of an on-line interactive game, which was held only for a limited time, and is no longer available. It was similar to "Neopets", in that you got to adopt one of the Imaginary Friends, and had to keep him/her happy. You had to find out what he/she liked to eat, what kind of music he/she liked, etc. If I'm not mistaken(and I got this from Antgirl1's Deviant Art journal), she adopted Wilt, and after eating on one occasion, he burped! Of course, knowing Wilt, THAT was an embarrassing thing to do, so that's why he blushed, LOL!

LOL, indeed! Still, I wonder how come the creators of Foster's haven't make him blush in the actual show? When are they ever gonna do that?! Oh, and I already know what that website is about, so no need to tell me about it. Thanks for the info, though!:)

antgirl1 10-24-2006 05:16 PM

But it was still CUUUUUTE! XD

It's probably beause no one's complemented on him in the show yet. XD

And if *I* remember correctly, there were two responces when he ate food that was positive:

1. Licking lips with a smile.

2. Burps, then blushes while smiling with his teeth, teeth on top of the other, with a slight "sad" look on his good eye. (yes i'm too descriptive)

CG 10-24-2006 05:31 PM

That or it might be hard to blush when your skin's already beet red. Plus he doesn't seem the type to blush easily.
