"Go Fosters!"

Here we go on.

I just love Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends and I hope it goes on forever, well not really forever but just for a long time so we can honor its ture talent.

So what I'm trying to say is I just love that show and I bet you do too. :bloosmirk:

So rock on with Foster's.

At present I do not know if "returning" means a new season or not. I have been all over the web today and I can find nothing that's a definite yes or no. However, I am more hopeful than I was yesterday.

Thank you, Cassini; that DOES give me a bit more hope than I had awhile ago, since the gist of this article indicates that Foster's will be continuing production, since it says that both it AND a series yet to start airing, "The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack", would be joining "Chowder". Unless that "MMoF" is to start airing very soon, while Foster's Season Six episodes are in first-run, that seems to me to indicate that the new show will begin NEXT season. I could be wrong, but that's the general feel that I'm getting, and I hope it's not just wishful thinking making me feel that way. Hopefully, Lauren will show up before long to clear this up, since she usually pops in when there's a controversy like this.

So there is a 7th season, then?

I don't know, but... if "Foster's" were to be cancelled, I'd just want to have all the season box sets and maybe a movie (Theatrical would be nice) to conclude it. I'd always like more episodes, but I don't want any more if they're... "wierd" episodes.

According to Toon Zoon, Flapjack is set to debut this summer.

So it's to be assumed that this new comedy block will premiere durinig the summer months.

Geez, at this point my biggest question is, will we EVER see Terrence again?? :terrconf:

Wow, the day is almost over and still no official news on whether or not the show will go on. Add me to the list of those who are anxious, although I'm well prepared for the absolute worst (that being, not just that season 6 will be the last, but will only consist of a few episodes). I'll just be able to breathe easier once we know for sure what the show's future holds.

Does anyone know what chances there are of it being canceled altogether, and CN not even airing the rest of the episodes Craig and Co. put together? I don't expect as much, as of course we all know it's very popular, especially lately with new licensed product hitting shelves. I also expect that they have to air all the episodes they ordered in order to get their money's worth out of it. But there might be some catch most aren't aware about. Just wondering. ;)

Hopefully we'll soon hear from Craig and/or Lauren themselves with official confirmation one way or the other.

Question: How long did Ed, Ed and Eddy go on before they finally pulled the plug?:duchconf:

I don't know. Pulling the plug and not showing all the episodes left? I don't think Cartoon Netowork will would pull a Fox.

Thanks MonkeyDoom, I was afraid I'd have to double post. :bloosmirk: I'm not sure how many episodes EE&E got, but I can try to find out (if someone else doesn't do so first).

Anyway, found a little more news just now at the The Animation Guild's blog-

Quote:

Just now Cartoon Network -- housed next to the Burbank Police Department in fabled "Downtown Burbank" -- has the Chowder crew developing new episodes on an upper floor and the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends animators working on half-hours of that serious on another ...

Foster's, since the beginning of its run, has produced a goodly number of its episodes in-house. CN doesn't produce all of the series locally, but splits animation duties between crews in California and Ireland.

Back when the show started production, management told me that the Irish animation crew had a narrow edge in cost-per-ep. (With the stellar performance of the American dollar over the past year, I don't know if this remains true.)
And then a commenter added in comments-

Quote:

Boulder Studio in Dublin is no longer doing any animation for Foster's. They had been splitting animation duties with CNS's in-house Flash unit through season four. With the start of season five early last year, all animation has been done in-house. So CNS, in fact, does produce all of the series locally, in fabled "Downtown Burbank".
Wow, I didn't even know my favorite show had any ties to Ireland. Interesting. :)

Doesn't exactly have to do with the Upfront, but news, none the less.

The blog does contain a link to another report on the Upfront, however. Although I think most have seen it already-
Quote:

Cartoon Network has designated Thursday nights as the new destination
for comedy. Anchored by its new animated hit Chowder, which the
network announced today has been picked up for a second season,
Thursdays will also feature existing laughers Foster's Home for
Imaginary Friends, Camp Lazlo and George of the Jungle and offer a
platform for new series launches including this summer's The Marvelous
Misadventures of Flapjack.
Not identical, but similar to another quote shared by another report on the Upfront.

Ireland? Sweet!

One Radical Dude 04-03-2008 06:41 PM

Let's stay on topic, okay? I'm thinking about seeing if I can get a confirmation of what the future of the series holds, and maybe someone can explain everything here. I'm still sticking with the belief that this might be the final season of Foster's, unless I'm proven wrong. Obviously, CN won't say which shows will be ending. :P
