I currently have a 40 min delay in Houston, due to a captain needing to arrive from another city.
|
Ah, so the delay isn't weather related. That's good.
Here's your little friend, Cass. Seen much better here than we could see on the little screen on my camera. http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._6530702_n.jpg  |
Yep, looks just like the one in my room last night. I left him the empty pizza box; no doubt he found it.

I'm back in my home state. Boo. lol The travel went well. I did have a big scare before going to sleep last night into this morning. I noticed that my camcorder was not with me. I asked Rid if he saw me with it, and he said he didn't recall me bringing it back from San Diego. I know for a fact that I brought it with me on the train northbound to Anaheim. I ended up going to the Anaheim Amtrak/Metrolink Station and explained what happened and the description of the lost item. The woman called to find out if anything was returned, and she told me that the cam was returned at the Union Station in LA. So, the people at Amtrak had the item sent back to Anaheim on a southbound train from LA, and I had them leave me a message and contact Rid about it, since he's the only one that could get the cam. He's going to ship it tomorrow. Huge sigh of relief. And hooray, good, honest people out there still exist!!
Now, I gotta get ready for work in the morning. Fuuun. |
Whew, another one made it home safely. Good to hear your camera is ok, that would indeed be scary. Looking forward to seeing some of the video! :)
I need to scan or photograph the two sketches Craig did for me. I'll try to do that tonight. |
Which reminds me, I should get to work on the photos I took. I'll be clearing out the old albums on my profile page so if y'all want one last look at the current pics you'd best look soon. ;)
On a somewhat related matter, I read a rumor somewhere that the four-day passes for Comic-Con 2010 may cost $100.00. Just a rumor, mind you, but it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be true. |
The $100 deal is truth (it was the onsite price and will be the price, once they start selling them online (which I heard they're going to start doing within a few weeks). I still went for it, but yeah, it did go up. Not sure if it has to do with them trying to prevent it from selling out quickly or if some of the funds are going to go to possibly contribute to expansion of the San Diego Convention Center (which does need to happen). I know $100 is a lot of money, though.
|
I'm surprised the price didn't go up last year. I don't think that's too bad a jump, especially after keeping it the same price two years in a row. Not to say it's not a lot of money, because it is. But it's worth it, isn't it? :)
And now, for my 2,000th post, here's the sketches I got. :) http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...ickisscans.jpg http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...isscans001.jpg |
They were planning to expand it by 65,000 square feet according to one guy I talked to. They could definitely use the extra room.
Bloo's smirking again. 8D |
Oh, that's fabulous, Lynnie - you must be pretty chuffed with those! I think Mac looks particularly adorable there. :)

Yes, he is! |
We got in yesterday, and the bird came home today. My feet are really screwed up, one foot has a bunion now and the other is infected. So um, yay. -_- We're likely not going to Con next year for financial reasons, so at least I won't have to go through that again.
I have not yet found my digital camera cable but when I do, I will post photos. |

Ow! I hope your feet will be ok, Sparky. That sounds horrible. Sorry to hear you won't likely be making it down next year, too. I hope things will turn around for the better real soon.
I for one had completely forgotten my phone's charging cord. I was worried my phone's battery would run out so I ended up not using it as much as I had originally planned. When getting into my dad's car when he picked me up, there it was in the back seat. Not sure how it had gotten there, it must have fallen out of my bag on the trip to the airport Saturday morning. I hope you're able to find your camera's cord. :macwor: |
I had kind of a scare along those lines; I couldn't remember if I packed my house keys. They turned out to be in my suitcase, fortunately, but I spent several long hours wondering if I was going to have to break into my own apartment. :P
My sympathies on your feet, Sparky. I really hope you find a solution for that; I know it's been a llong, painful problem. We'll miss you in 2010, too, but you already know that. Just take care of yourself, that's all we ask. |
Ow geez, sorry to hear about your infection there Sparky.
All I can really say is, Get well soon. Wow, the 09 con just ended and people are making plans for 2010 already. Talk about dedication to having fun. :D I too is currently in the early stages of planning another journey to next years event. And by early stages I mean I am going to start to save my money little by little and then see what my finances are like around Christmas time before making any firm commitments, so stay tuned peeps. And if not 2010 then maybe 2011, but one thing is certain I do want to go one more time. |

It does appear that I have lost my camera bag, which contained the usb cord and I think maybe a memory card I never use. Possibly another cord I never use, the one that connects the camera to a composite input. Anyways next time I turn on my desktop computer I can use the built-in card reader to retrieve the photos but I do need to order a new usb cord from the company because it's not a common one I can buy locally. I'm going to do that in just a moment.
So anyways next week I hope to have the '09 CC page up on this site. I don't think I can get to it before then. If you have photos start going through them to see what you might want to contribute. |
Just been reading up on all the posts, and it's safe to say the '09 Con was canny event-packed. Obviously it goes without saying that I wish I could've been there myself, but I'm glad to hear everyone had a great time.:D
Sorry to hear about the feet, Sparky, hopefully they'll be alright soon. |
I may have two or three pictures worth sharing on the CC09 page. Sparky, should they be a certain size?
|
You can use these as an example of a general size.
I keep forgetting to get my photos off my camera. :P I don't think I have anything super-fantastic to share anyways. |
My replacement camera cable came today so without any further excuses, here are a few more photos from the Con:
http://www.fosters-home.com/comiccon...maccosplay.jpg The highly elusive male Mac cosplayer! http://www.fosters-home.com/comiccon...tevestatue.jpg Steve Purcell poses with the Sam & Max statue at Symbiote Studios. (I bought one of these.) http://www.fosters-home.com/comiccon...terrsundae.jpg Terrence gets hungry at the Ghiaradelli place. http://www.fosters-home.com/comiccon...howardriff.jpg And finally back at our hotel, Howard cooks on Terrence's guitar. I'm still taking photos for building the CCI09 page here on Never Forgotten, so please send some my way. |
I'll definitely send some photos to you by this weekend. I'm on the last week I have to be up at 6am each weekday (hated doing so :P). Nice photos, by the way!
|
Yeah Sparky, that last photo is hilarious! I did save it - and it might be an avatar (who knows). Okay peeps! My photos of the Con are on my album. I only shot five photos (I am not much of a shutterbug), and they are the ones I thought were important - and they barily turned out. Go have a look and feel free to comment!:bloogrin:

I uploaded images on my DA page here.

More Pics!!!
Another set of Con pics is now posted on my profile page; this set is titled "The Exhibition Hall" and was shot entirely within the Exhibition Hall. Kind of self-explanatory, I guess. Comments are welcomed, but you already know that.
|
Nice section of pics, Cass. Makes me wish I could go. I managed to comment on a couple of them too.
|
Another great set of shots, Cass. Takes me right back to '08.:)

Pic Set #3! Yay!
Pic set #3 (of 4) is now up on my profile page. Nothing fancy, just a collection of random stuff that caught my eye. There's a lot to see in the city; I'm already looking forward to next year's trip.
|
Great pictures, Cassini. You're just a natural with a camera.
|
Set #4 is here!
Much appreciated, dude. :)
The final pic set has been added to my profile page; this one has cosplayers and various other people who went a-connin' this year. Enjoy. |
Everyone looks great in that group shot, thank you for uploading it! I remember seeing a few of those cosplayers too. Aww, I miss it now. I hope I can make it next year.
