I saw it but didn't think anything of it at the time. I can imagine some groups getting all upset over it, though. I'm surprised the censors didn't spot it; we should pay extra attention to future reruns (whenever that happens) to see if it gets edited out.

Edit - Wicca was referenced in Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost, way back in October of 1999.

I don't think it'd make much of a fuss. I mean, what 6-11 year old knows/cares what wicca/n is? Just sayin.

...You obviously don't pay a lot of attention to the childrens' entertainment news. :/ Believe me, parents go nuts over the teeniest things sometimes.

I saw it the first time too! My ex-gf (now room mate) noticed it first; the funny part is she despises Fosters. By the way, she does have spell books and such. She practices it, much to my chagrin.:wiltshock:

I remember noticing Coco reading a book upside down and snickering at that alone. I never bothered to read what the cover said though. I'm wanting to see it again now.

I personally don't see it as an issue, but oh yeah, some people will get totally irrational over what most everyone else may see as something stupid. To me, I see it as a simple nod to the latest "darker" trends, including perhaps Harry Potter.

I would totally pity anyone who would get offended over a five second background throw away gag.

I mean next thing you know they'll playing every line of Coco's dialogue backwards listening for hidden messages? :jk:

When it airs over here I'll look out for that and see if they edit it out (they edited Destination Imagination over here, after all). That's interesting.. in this day and age, a cartoon referencing religion is.. unusual.

WHAT!?! What bits did they edit out...I can't think of anything worth editiing. Is "peeved" offensive now ;)?

Mew 05-21-2009 02:04 PM

Apparently, since that's what they edited out. They did an okay job (they didn't just mute it or freeze the scene), but you can tell it was edited >_>. I'd upload it to Megaupload, but I don't know how to get it off my DVD. But yeah, I think it was a silly edit too >_>.

...What are YOU taking about? It's not like the "wiccan" book was a major thing in the show. Besides, Foster's is over with. I don't think parents would raise a fuss over a show, especially not an episode that'll likely not air m/any times again.
