Spider-Man 3
I don't get the negative reviews. I think it's the best of the 3, the only let down was Venom. They should of waited until 4 for him. :edmad:

Leroy and Stitch

X-men: The Last Stand

Feast

I hadn't seen the last Lilo/Stitch movie and I was reluctant after seeing how Stitch the movie, Stitch 2: the glitch, and the series sucked something awful. However, I was glad to see they made the movie interesting to say the least.

All the old cast came back and even though I never cared much for the show, seeing all 625 experiments in a furry mutant battle royale was certainly entertaining and while it never can touch the original film, it was pretty fun.

I agree with you 100% Invader, Spider man 3 wasn't the best of the 3 films but I don't consider it trash by any means necessary. Even with all of the flaws I still found this movie to be an excellent film, again, my only beef (main beef anyway) was Venom needed more air time.

Similar also to my feelings to X-men 3. For all the bad flak this film got, it could have been a LOT worse. I felt they handled Phoenix saga well into translation, Beast was perfect, and there was some really intense action drama. It could have been better but its really much better then I first thought.

Feast is a kick ass movie, simply put. I bet it would have done well in public theaters and its a shame to think Project Greenlight ended because this was one hell of a great film they put out.

Invader Bloo 11-11-2007 11:24 AM

I don't like X3. But Venom needed way more air time, maybe he secretly bonded with the symbiote & escaped. :D
Peter was a little slow on trieng to get Eddie. I don't get it a bomb expldoes near Harry & he just gets a scarred face but Eddie supposedly dies? Big plot error.

It was a small explosive, Harry wasn't stupid enough to throw a big bomb inside his own place. He'd be killed too if it was a big bomb. That's why he threw a small explosive at Peter and how it only scarred him.

Venom/Brock died because the bomb was inside the symbiote and Eddie jumped into it because he felt he couldn't live without it.

Oh yeah and the last movie I just watched was...

Ratatouille.

Shakespeare in Love

When this movie first came out on video 10 years ago, I watched it over and over and over, I absolutely loved it. Haven't seen it since then, but even after 10 years, I remember many parts of the movie. I especially liked the part toward the end where Queen Elizabeth comes to a mud puddle, and there are five or six men in front of her bowing, but none of them notice the mud puddle and offer to lay their cloak over it so Her Majesty could cross without getting her feet dirty. When they finally notice, all of them take off their cloaks, but she walks through before they can drop them and says "Too late!" I LOLed just as much this time as I remember doing so 10 years ago. 8D

Have I mentioned before that I love historical movies? Well, I do. :mfoster: One of the reasons I love this movie so much.

Medikor 11-12-2007 10:01 AM

I watched a few movies over the weekend but the one that I watched almost in its entirety was TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze. I love the first two Turtle movies since they are a precious part of my childhood and darn good movies to boot.
I caught some bits and pieces of some war movies I planned to watch but I couldn't really get into any outside "All Quiet on the Western Front". I can't get over how brutal this movie is.
Given that it was Remembrance Day when it was on, I almost started to cry during the scene when the soldiers charge across no-mans-land and are mowed down by machine-gun fire. And then when they finally made it into the enemy trenches people start fighting for their lives with anything they can grab like shovels. Powerful stuff.:(

Yeah, exceedingly bleak. I remember watching that on Remembrance Day a few years ago, and it certainly hit home. Paul's friendship with Kat is the aspect that stood out most for me; I recall the final outcome being very heartbreaking.

The last film I saw was Ghosts of Cite Soleil, a feature documentary about gang culture and political turmoil in Haiti. Far from the happiest film I've ever seen.

Meet the Robinsons and parts of Miss Congeniality 2.

I finished viewing the first film earlier this afternoon; I rather liked it. It was fun, quirky and charming. A good attempt at 3-D Disney animation that didn't come from Pixar studios.

The other film was picked up at Blockbuster at the request of my aunt;she just wanted to see it, since she saw the first one.

jekylljuice 11-15-2007 01:47 PM

The Italian Job

The original 1969 version with Michael Caine (why settle for anything less?). A pure, 100%, unadulterated classic heist movie which climaxes in some truly phenomenal chase sequences. I mean really epic, intricately beautiful chase sequences. The climax to the Blues Brothers quite easily takes the cake for the highest volume of awe-inspiring metalic carnage, but as far as I know this movie has yet to be bested for the sheer grace and sublimeness of its high-speed pursuits. If you can find it, watch the deleted scene with the cars on ice.

The criminals here are such an amusing and likeable bunch that you have no qualms whatsoever cheering for them every step of the way, so much so that that notoriously inconclusive ending comes as a bit of a slap round the face, but it's still extremely funny and clever in its way. Certainly a lot nicer than the alternative ending which my friend informs me about at any rate.

Medikor 11-16-2007 06:04 PM

The Naruto movie that takes place in the Land of Snow. I can't remember the exact title.:-[ It was okay, but like most movies based off anime series it was pretty forgettable.

Titan A.E.

An unfortunately forgotten animated movie that was (I think) the last animated film Don Bluth made. This movie originally didn't interest me when it first came out but after catching it on cable, I was really impressed with what I saw.

Really original story, excellent graphics and effects, good characters, and I loved the music. I personally loved Nathan Lane the best in here as the alien Preed. Its a really entertaining and creative film if you ever get the chance to see it.

Invader Bloo 11-17-2007 06:22 AM

Knocked Up
I really like this movie, maybe even more than 40 Year Old Virign.

Star Wars: A New Hope on TV

Having seen the Steve Oedekerk spoof (which is really funny) and played the Lego game, I thought I might as well check it out. I didn't watch all of it, though, as I had to take a bath.

"Stuck on You". The Farelly bros. are freaking genius with this one. Matt Damon is funny as crap.

Titanic

I first saw this in the theatres. Have seen it probably a hundred times or so by now. Loved it from the beginning. Sure I like the love story, but my interest is more the costumes and the history. And I always liked Jack's character. He's so reasonable, witty, funny. I always loved his line "What? You mean they didn't teach you how to spit in finishing school?". There's also the one, where he's looking at the ring on Rose's finger and, remembering how she was going to jump overboard the night before says "Woah, look at the size of this thing! You would have gone strait to the bottom!". And also, when he's cuffed in that back room, water is starting to come in from under the door and he says "This looks bad." He always makes me laugh. 8D

And I love the music from it. The theme song is one thing, but the Irish song from the steerage party and the song from the set off. I just love it!

Invader Bloo 11-18-2007 12:31 PM

I like that movie, but the thing that's most shocking is the director of such gory action flicks as "Aliens" & the first 2 Terminators made Titanic. :o

You think that's shocking?

Consider director Robert Rodriguez. A guy who was famous for making films even more polar opposite then Cameron. I mean think about it. On the one hand, Rodriguez made kid friendly films like:

Spy Kids series, Adventures of Shark Boy and Lava girl

THEN, he makes hardcore action, gore and sexed up films like:

Sin City, Grindhouse, and Dusk till Dawn

Invader Bloo 11-18-2007 12:38 PM

He goes from some of the most famous action movies of all-time to one of the most famous love movies of all-time.

Some say that it is the spiritual continuation/conclusion to the 80's gem "Pirates of Darkwater". I've seen some of A.E, but I really need to see it again.
You may get a kick out of this, Lynnie.

This is Spinal Tap

I?ve lost track of how many times I?ve seen this film exactly, but it?s always great for a repeat viewing (the pretentiousness and ineptitude of those heavy metal rockers never gets old; neither does all that business concerning Ian Faith and his cricket bat - in fact the film as a whole remains remarkably timeless), and last night I finally got to see it on the big screen, courtesy of my local student cinema, which was a treat.

I would say that my favourite moment is the Stonehenge sequence, if it wasn't the most obvious choice...so I'll go instead with Nigel's demonstration of his haunting new classical composition. D minor really is the saddest of all keys, isn't it? Instantly makes me want to weep.

Classic with a Captial "C".

Ratatouille

Best animated feature of the year! It was spectacular; Quirky story, gorgeous style, great characters, great music, nice theme and motifs, very fun to watch.

I saw this film when it was still out in the theaters, but rewatching it has reminded me of why I'm currently plugging it in my signature. This film really deserves to be the Best Animated Feature of the Year simply because it lives up to the standards of a good film.

Btw, the short film included on the DVD, Your Friend the Rat, also merits viewing, as it is both informative and entertaining, and also features Remy the rat and his brother Emile singing. Any good educational film with singing things, whether they be rats or vegetables (wink, wink), is worth seeing, so I recommend both the feature film and the short for viewing.

I believe you won't be disappointed with either.

Scary Movie 4

The opening with Dr Phil and Shaq was hilarious. 8D Now I can't wait to see what Scary Movie 5 has in store.

I personally prefer the David Zucker Scary Movies (since the first two I consider to be more sex teen comedy films than parody films).

Mr. Marshmallow 11-21-2007 11:33 PM

The Mist

Good god this movie was UNBELIEVABLE! Man alive I loved it, it was beyond spectacular. I always knew and always suspected that if Frank Darabont (the director) could make movies like "The Green Mile" and "Shawshank Redemption" he'd make another masterpiece and he SO did.

This movie is excellent. It's scary, creepy, horrifying, and downright disturbing. I tell you right now with the utmost honesty, this is probably the best movie I have seen this year. The actors and characters and writing are all top notch, but be warned, this movie's ending will leave you holding your jaw. This is what you call a REAL shocker ending.

It looks phenomenal.

No Country for Old Men
and
The Incredibles

No Country for Old Men is the newest from the Coen Brothers and it's definitely the best movie I've seen this year. It was just so well-crafted and features the best villain I've seen in a long time. Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin give the performance of their lifetimes, not to mention Javier Bardem as the quiet, relentless hitman, Anton Chigurh. Just, wow.

I saw The Incredibles on NBC tonight. What can I say about this movie that hasn't already been said. My favorite movie of all time.

The Secret of NIMH

I had always heard bits and pieces of this film and managed to catch a few scenes from it. I thought it was one of those classic toon movies you had to grow up watching or you'd never like/love it as much as adults did.

Boy was I wrong. This was a great film, beautiful animation, classic yet lovable characters who worked out very well. Its dark and so well made, I was really impressed. My only beef is I felt that the ending and the villain's demise were a little rushed.

This film could have lasted to be a bit longer, other then that, this was a really great movie and I'm SO glad I picked this over watching "Monster House" on demand.

jekylljuice 11-23-2007 01:07 PM

Surf's Up

This movie started out fairly well, and had a pretty unique and interesting concept, but just couldn't sustain itself. As the story went on, it had a pretty hard time translating itself to the mockumentary format, to the point where in the latter half of the film it might as well not have been a mockumentary at all, just your typical sporting-themed family flick in which we're treated to all the same winning-and-losing morals we've already learnt a million times elsewhere (everywhere from "Cool Runnings" to "Cars"). Still, James Woods was pretty good as that unctuous sea otter.

Mr. Marshmallow 11-23-2007 02:02 PM

Enchanted

Man was I expecting a turd from this movie, I was totally WAY OFF! This movie was a wonderful movie. I expected a lot of cheesy jokes and stupidly obvious moral messages with animation and live mixed. Instead, I got a kick ass, well cast and acted story with enough depth and imagination in the writing.

This movie really wowed me, I never felt so inspired and honest to god: WARM over a film. The message and delivery of the theme of the movie played out so smoothly I couldn't believe Disney had made such a fantastic live movie. Disney mocks their own films so sharply and well, this was certainly no crap kid film.

The actors actually feel like cartoons characters brought to life, with every quirky line and facial expression duplicated right off the animation page. I personally found James Marsden as Prince Edward to be the most hilarious "Live toon" in the film, his peppy attitude in such a funky costume is a real treat to watch.

It's no where near the god awful likes of films like their "Shaggy dog" remake or nauseating films like "Bratz movie". This movie genuinely is smart, funny, and fresh, it suffers no watered down stupid physical/farting jokes for kids and it appeals to those looking for a real original film that can entertain kids and adults without feeling its too kiddish or dumbed down. It's a GREAT film.

I've been thinking about seeing this film. It looks funny. The one that sold it for me was in the trailer when Prince Edward got knocked over by the cyclists while he was singing! I was literally on the floor. 8D

Yay, Hooray! One of my favorite movies EVER when I was growing up! "Auntie Shrew, Auntie Shrew!" "A Sparkley! I always wanted a Sparkley of my very own!" Oh, and I have always loved that theme song. I figured it would be the perfect lullaby to sing to my baby, should I ever have one. Such a pretty song.

N-E-ways, the last movie I watched was The Muppet's Christmas Carrol
Charles Dickens' classic Christmas story has always been one of my favorites, add the silliness of the Muppets and whamo! A great movie! More nice music in it, too. The ending makes me want to get up and do the jig. :D

It really was a touching little dark movie, it was sweet and well written and animated. Probably the best Bluth film I've seen, that and Titan A.E. Like i said, I only was letdown the villain was dispatched so quickly and the ending felt a little abrupt. I wished they would have shown more.

Like Justin becoming the new rat leader or something. Mrs. Brisby was such an adorable character, so kind and polite. She's a fine example of a female lead that doesn't need to act like a female Rambo bad ass like the movie version of Tomb Raider to be a good character. Brisby worked out just fine the way she was.

I also got a little annoyed by Jeremy the crow played by Dom Deluise. I like Dom but this character just felt too much like his other roles, Tiger and Itchy. But unlike those two, Jeremy really didn't do anything in this movie. But these are minor things really, this movie really was an excellent animated film.

And the last movie i watched was Ben 10: race Against Time, I left a long ass review in the movie's thread if your curious on my thoughts on it.
