those are punk bands? I'm thinking The Ramones, Blondie, The Pixies, etc.

See what I meant by everyone having different interpretations of what is considered punk rock? 8-).

frankie_fan 01-15-2007 05:39 PM

I was actually thinking more of Good Charlotte.

Voxxyn 01-15-2007 06:22 PM

She's definitely "straight edge". She has an edgy feel to her look, yet she is a wholesome and(mostly) clean-cut person.

Mr. Marshmallow 01-15-2007 09:05 PM

I think Good Charlotte and Sum 41 are bands I could honestly say I could see Frankie listening too. I also think she's a clean based person and I doubt she';d listen to music that has a lot of loud screaming stuff or constant swearing.

I doubt Offspring and Blink 182 would be her ideal music choice then, we never really saw much of Frankie's interest in music outside of her concert (which could have been god only knows) and her whimpering little "....I'm punk rock".

Howard 01-16-2007 08:09 AM

I think Frankie's musical tastes are eclectic - with punk being her first and formost. I am sure she would have some taste in blues, classic rock (classic punk can fall under this), possible jazz, and some modern rock.

If she likes jazz, I wonder if she's seen A Boy Named Charlie Brown? That's got some good jazz music (with brilliant orchestra music mixed in).

Medikor 01-16-2007 02:38 PM

I wonder what she thinks of country rock? Mandy (also voiced by Grey) dosant seem too thrilled about it.;) 8D The impression I get from Frankie is that she would have that whole Hillary Duff over Brittany Spears kinda thing going in terms of taste. Very much like what Vox said: "Staight edge".

Mr. Marshmallow 01-16-2007 03:09 PM

I could see that. Hillary Duff and maybe Avril Laveigne seem kind of like the soft, emotional yet still rock sounding music Frankie would go for. I definitely think Frankie listens to songs that speak emotion and have depth to them.

I doubt she listens to (like I said) overly perverse, loud, or constant swearing music. I could see her listening to Angels and Airwaves, or All-American Rejects. I also think she feels upset that she doesn't "look" like she's punk rock.

Judging by her reaction in "Bendy", I think she considers herself a fan but doesn't necessarily look the part, or at least maybe she feels a bit insecure about the fact she likes punk rock and isn't considered a fan by others.

Partymember 01-16-2007 03:36 PM

i just got Grey's "Iron Flowers" and "Graceful Ghost" albums today. Awesome stuff, i think Frankie would like them 8D

Frankie Pasta Frame

Hey guys. Check this out. I made this in my own spare time:

Cool, huh? Here's the video on how to make one:

Medikor 01-16-2007 05:19 PM

At the risk of sounding unmanly, Frankie Fan: That looks REALLY pretty! I love it.:D
Nice purchase, Partymember. I've been meaning to pick up some of her tracks myself. It would be great if they did an inside joke where Frankie mentions some of Greys music as her favorites or we could see a cd case with the name "Iron Flowers" in the background of her room!:D

Partymember 01-16-2007 05:36 PM

"Iron Flowers" is really, really, really good. I know the $16 price tag is steep but...you realize that Grey needs supporting, right? She ain't exactly U2! Of the two i'd say "Iron Flowers" would appeal to more people, "Graceful Ghost" is more country-heavy. Seriously, next Amazon purchase save some room for "Iron Flowers", you won't regret it (unless you are a hip hop fan, then you might want to skip it)

Voxxyn 01-16-2007 05:54 PM

I agree that Grey needs support. But unfortunately, since my family completely refuses to order anything online, and since all the music stores I know only stock the most overexposed Top 40 stuff(Borders has a pretty good music CD selection--in fact, that's where I get all my music--but nothing obscure like Grey), I'd probably have to resort to downloading it if I ever want to have a listen. :(

BACK ON-TOPIC, but still on the subject of Grey's singing: According to Craig, an upcoming episode will feature lots of music and singing. I REALLY hope this means we'll get to see Frankie's wonderful voice truly shine.

Medikor 01-16-2007 06:03 PM

!!! Voxxyn you just hyped me to the theoreticle limits that a human can be hyped! I pray that that episode makes it into production because it would be a crime to be denied Frankies singing voice.:D

Cassini90125 01-16-2007 06:06 PM

That would be an amazing episode!

BOOYAH!! As much as I've heard Tara Strong sing before (which, if you haven't heard before, is beautiful), I would love to hear Grey sing as well.

frankie_fan 01-16-2007 06:38 PM

Sorry for double-posting, but Cassini, I do apologise for cross-posting. It just seemed that no one was paying attention to my message about it before. :(

I think it's a great frame, frankie_fan.

Eh, no harm done. Voxxyn's right, by the way; it looks great. Nice job!

I heard her sing as a character in Samurai Jack once. It didn't even occur to me that it was her when I listened, but fortunately for me I love to read credits. ^^ Very pretty voice.

i would love to hear Frankie sing!

She sang in a couple of episodes already, albeit briefly. There was when she sang those nursery rhimes in "The Big Cheese" and when she sang one or two lines in "Imancipation Complication". But it would be nice to hear her give her vocal chords a good workout musicly.:D

Howard 01-18-2007 01:07 PM

I definitely agree. I would love to hear Frankie sing a full song (backed up with a full band and everything); she could really prove her mettle.

Partymember 01-18-2007 05:22 PM

i've listened to "Bloody Bucket" about a million times since yesterday.

Seriously...i think she cut the most depressing album ever. Sadder than "Layla and Other Love Songs" from Derek & D.

You should hear her sing on Family Guy (sorry for going off-topic!).

kageri 01-18-2007 07:28 PM

What?! She was in that one? I've seen it and I never noticed her voice at all.

I hope you realise that I'm talking about Tara Strong, not Grey. Again, sorry for going off-topic. She was the singing voice of Meg.

Really? I should have been able to pick that up. Anyway, my brother came up with a funny idea of an episode and surprised me when he included Frankie so much in his idea.
The idea is that Frankie is lugging around something heavy or ffagile and Bloo is buzzing around her because he wants something. Due to Bloo's distraction, Frankie drops whatever it is she's carrying and it either breaks or lands on her foot. Increadably frustreated already, this causes Frankie to lose her composer and she swears (coverd over by a noise made by a convenietly presant imaginary friend).
Bloo hears this word and asks what it means and starts playing with it as Frankie is trying to stop him before Mr.Harriman hears him. This leads to some wacky events and probobly ends with Bloo and Frankie getting their mouths washed out with soap.
I thought it was a pretty good idea for an episode but when my brother said how much Frankie would be in it I just had to tell you guys. My brother is as big a fan of the show as I am and I thought the roles he thought out for Bloo and Frankie were pretty true to their characters. I can just imagine the look on Frankies face when she realizes what she just said with Bloo next to her.8D

Voxxyn 01-19-2007 06:30 AM

Maybe Mr. Herriman gets so mad at Bloo and Frankie that he curses at them--in front of Madame Foster.

We were thinking of something like that. Mostly that after Harriman gives Bloo and Frankie a lecture, Maddam Foster comes in and stubs her toe or something and starts to swear like a sailor.8D

kageri 01-19-2007 04:27 PM

ATTENTION EVERYONE, FRANKIE ESPECIALLY: FRANKIE'S DRIVER'S LICENSE EXPIRED ON THE 9TH OF JANUARY.

Better get a new one! :0

(Checks copy) Dang, you're right! This calls for a special Frankie vs. the DMV episode! Titles, anyone? ;D

billytheskink 01-19-2007 04:52 PM

A Frankie at the DPS (or DMV as they seem to be called in every other town) episode has real potential. Good thought Cassini.

I'll have to ponder potential titles, I'm sure something clever could be developed.

You got that from SB.:D

That episode could have Bloo trieing to get a license as sub-plot too or maybe Ed.:-/ 8D

"Do you have these keysin pearl?"

Medikor 01-20-2007 10:52 AM

Maybe Coco could be the star next to Frankie because she has a licance too.;) That would be hillarious if Coco ends up being Frankie's driveing instructor if she had to take a driveing test again.

"Cocococo coco co cococococo co"
"Paralell park? I can't paralell park to save my life! Come on, Coco, be a pal and pass me now, hmmmm?...
"COCO!"

That....would....be....so....awesome!

Partymember 01-20-2007 08:14 PM

parallel parking is really really easy. I don't know why people make such a big deal about it.

I saw World Wide Wabbit today: Frankie is so great, laughing her ass off at that Herriman video, the maniacal glint in her eye when she held up the disks...hilarious!

Crash-N-Cortex 01-20-2007 08:34 PM

It's nice seeing Frankie laugh on "World Wide Wabbit". It shows that there's something Frankie can laugh about Herriman.

Medikor 01-21-2007 09:13 AM

I love the love/hate relationship Frankie and Herriman have. It makes any tender momants between them (if any) that much sweeter.:D
