Sharpshooter

Special Ops sniper is ready for retirement but gets talked into one last mission, succeeds, gets double-crossed, and gets the double-crossers. Not much on plot or character development but enjoyable nonetheless. What was especially interesting was that the action took place mostly in Julien, CA, about an hour outside San Diego; Howard and I visited there during this year's Comic-Con and back in 2011. Seeing familiar locations added a lot to the movie; makes me want to rewatch Jurassic Park 2, which took place in San Diego, just to see if I can spot anything that I've seen in person.

Skyfall, the latest James Bond entry. Cracking good actioner hampered by some over-the-top crashes and pyrotechnics. Judi Dench continues to be awesome as M, Bond's superior (her curtain call in the role).

Wreck-It Ralph. Think "Super Mario World" meets "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" A very clever and witty CGI-animated Disney effort about redemption and being true to one's self. Vanellope Von Schweetz (voiced by Sarah Silverman) steals the movie.

Bought Wreck-It Ralph today (actually finally bought a blu ray player just for that), but what I actually just finished watching was Brave. I missed it in theatres, it didn't look that good from the previews. And I ended up not caring for it after all. Looks nice and all but just...eh. No offense to anyone who loves it, just differing opinion.

Honestly, that's how I felt about Brave too. Lovely animation (that hair..!), but the story itself was just kind of boring. Not bad exactly, it just didn't do anything for me at all for some reason. -shrug-

The Sting. I wish I could look as good in a tux as Paul Newman did in that movie.

Speed

A bus has a bomb on board, which will explode if the bus's speed drops below 50 mph. It's up to Keanu Reeves to save the passengers and catch the mad bomber. Doesn't sound like much of a plot but it's a pretty good story with a lot of action, a few nice explosions, and what is probably the longest chase scene in movie history. 8D Good casting, too; Dennis Hopper makes a very convincing psychotic bomber. I'll definitely be watching this one again. Rated R; Runtime = 1 hour, 25 minutes.

Sandra Bullock was a knockout, by the way. :bloocross:

Carrie (2013). I liked it better than the original one.
