Well, the only other CN Original released as of now, Samurai Jack, did have extra French and Spanish tracks, so it's a huge possibility.

Hey, I wonder if the "never-before-seen footage" will include the original Adoptcalypse Now credits. Oh, and the character commentary and Craig McCracken designing the final cover = greatness.

Medikor 10-08-2006 04:44 AM

I'm thinking that the characters that commentate are based on the episodes. So if it's a Frankie-centric episode, Frankie will get to give her fair share of opinions.:D Just imagine what she would have to say about World Wide Wabbit!8D

FostersFriend 10-08-2006 06:41 AM

Does anyone know perhaps what countries they will be realeasing this in?

I MUST know this rocks!! :bloogrin

Medikor 10-08-2006 08:05 AM

It will likely be available to all of North America, but it may not be available to Europe for a few months. (If at all) Don't worry. I'm sure it will be able to get to the hands of Foster's fans worldwide.

FostersFriend 10-08-2006 10:44 AM

Hopefully. Cuz i'm from South Africa. Hopefully it is in stores here soon enough. :(

One Radical Dude 10-08-2006 10:57 AM

Yeah, it's most likely going to be released in North America, so if you really want it, you need to have a region-free DVD player or get your PC set up to watch DVDs from any region on your PC's DVD drive.

Invader Bloo 10-08-2006 10:58 AM

Don't forget Red in his episode! Frankie is an most of the episodes in season 1, so she'll likely appear.

Sparky 10-08-2006 03:19 PM

HA HA!! I *doubt* very much it'll happen, but Red and Bloo tag-team commenting on Seeing Red would be priceless! ;D

Invader Bloo 10-08-2006 04:00 PM

Red: The flowers smelt good! Terrance squashed the poor flowers though, that's why I really punched him
Bloo: SHUT UP! This is my commentary! See I'm on the cover! You look on your DVD cover!8D

kageri 10-08-2006 04:50 PM

Perhaps the character commentaries will bring us some amusing fourth-wall breakage....

That's exactly what I am expecting, maybe something along the lines of that little sandwich sketch that Grey, Keith and Tom did at Comic Con 2006.

HappyFoppy 10-09-2006 03:03 AM

I found out 4 awesome things.
  • Foster's DVD in February.
  • It has character commentaries, which will almost have no fourth wall anymore (it's this broken).
  • Craig is on the forum (which I did not ever know.)
  • He's designing a box art other than that one which already looks awesome, so what to expect from the new one?
But. There is a sad thing.
  • Belgium is 7291 km away from USA. And Belgium does never get merchandising.
So it's time to cry now. :'(

Cassini90125 10-09-2006 06:26 AM

Don't cry. You might be able to work out something with someone you know in the USA to send them to you. Shipping costs might be expensive but it could be done. :)

Medikor 10-09-2006 11:55 AM

You mean Craig McCracken is a member on THIS board? Or do you mean he just reads what we all have to say on here? Either way, that's pretty cool!:D

One Radical Dude 10-09-2006 01:53 PM

Technically, he IS a member of this forum. He makes appearances every now and then.

Medikor 10-09-2006 03:19 PM

Cool! I'll have to keep my eye's open so I can thank him for makeing such a wounderful show. What's his board-name?

BlooCheese 10-09-2006 03:38 PM

He's Mac Daddy.
It is seriously awesome that he posted/posts here.

frankie_fan 10-09-2006 09:16 PM

If Mac Daddy does appear here again, ask if he has any plans for an Australian release! I cannot wait!!!!!

Invader Bloo 10-10-2006 02:48 PM

I think he wants everyone to have a DVD, that's CNs problems for certain country only releases.

One Radical Dude 10-10-2006 03:21 PM

Right, I'm sure Craig wants DVD sets to become available to as many locations as possible. However, he doesn't have as much control over releases as Cartoon Network or Warner Bros.

InsaneFan 10-10-2006 04:52 PM

EEEEEEEEEE! I am OMGing over here! *dies of awesomeness overload*

And you guys mentioned R&S and Brother Bear doing character commentaries(both of which I've seen), but ya'll didn't say a thing about the Fairly Oddparents one. That was great too.

Foster's will BEAT ALL, though. Total seriously.

Invader Bloo 10-12-2006 01:57 PM

What FOP DVD?

CCMars 10-12-2006 05:14 PM

I heard about it earlier, but still, YAY!

Invader Bloo 10-14-2006 06:09 AM

I hope season 2 comes shortly after this one comes out, maybe a month or two.

Kzinistzerg 10-14-2006 08:50 AM

*does the nyahnyahnyahnyahnyah dance*

Whooo!

February is too far awa. And yay for Craig!

Sounds good, however, that's more likely to be unrealistic, and not necessarily a good business move. :macwor: It takes time to come up with decent releases (at least, give it 4-6 months after the first release), and plus the sales factor is another thing (which I'm sure will do fine to get another release).

Medikor 10-15-2006 06:21 AM

Exactly. A six month gap between releases sounds about right. The Avatar dvd's have a three month gap between releases (but those only have four episodes per dvd) and other season dvd sets are yearly releases. Either way, I don't think we'll have to wait too long for season two.

Klown 10-15-2006 02:13 PM

Excellent.

Kzinistzerg 10-15-2006 02:37 PM

Yeah. if you release them closer together, then you may make the fans happy but it's also not considered the smartest marketing move.

CG 10-16-2006 08:16 PM

Tis indeed something squee-worthy, but I hope you guys who have learnt that Craig is a member isn't spamming his inbox with messages. He's only signed in twice; once on the old board and once here.

I most probably will purchase it online from somewhere. Since Australia main stores rarely get american release dvds.

Kzinistzerg 10-17-2006 03:18 PM

No, I ahvent PMed him. Seemd kinda rude to do so.

Invader Bloo 10-18-2006 11:41 AM

Me neither, I doubt he'd even read them because he usually just posts 1 post then leaves. Hopefully to work on the show! J/k.

Medikor 10-18-2006 05:41 PM

I never thought of doing that, but I wouldant. Like Kzinistzerg said: It would be rude.

taranchula 10-18-2006 06:04 PM

Getting back on topic here, we already know about the commentaries, but I wonder what kind of behind the scenes features they'll have on the DVD? I for one hope they do a feature on the music of Foster's, since the show has such an awesome soundtrack that always perfectly fits the mood and helps to sell a lot of the scenes in the series, and it would be great to hear from the likes of James (Venable) and Jennifer (Kes Remington) the series' composers about what it's like to compose such varied and memorable music and stuff like that.

Medikor 10-19-2006 05:52 AM

I would really like to see footage of the voice actors performing their lines into their microphones. That would be somthing to see. Espetialy if it's a group take with several of them playing off of each other.:D

Voxxyn 10-19-2006 08:45 PM

To be honest, I don't think we'll be getting much in the way of authentic behind-the-scenes material. One or two short featurettes is what I'm thinking. Children are the core demographic, so don't be surprised if it's crammed with lots of vapid interactive games.

But at least the character commentaries will be something that can appeal to both children and us hardcore fans. :bloogrin

LaBlooGirl 10-20-2006 04:08 AM

Craig is awesome. He comes here to see what the fans are saying, and I think he's wonderful for that. ::gives Craig a hug::

Man these DVDs sound SWEET. I am SO excited and I will never be as anxious for February to arrive again. lol So while it's snowing and freezing cold outside, I can be snuggling up to some Bloo on my TV screen....you are the best Mr. McCracken. The BEST.

Oh of course, I wasn't expecting them to cram as much behind the scenes stuff as possible onto one set, mainly for the reasons you stated above. I was thinking like maybe one or two features per season set, that ought to do it.

Invader Bloo 10-21-2006 03:43 PM

Yeah, 1 or 2 per DVD sounds good. I want commentaries on every episode, no skipping!

CG 10-21-2006 10:03 PM

Invader Zim had the creator' commentaries, but also in the extras they did show some pieces to do with music, the animation process, audio recording; and Zim was aimed at 'kids' too. I use the term loosely since most of the fans were teenagers and adults.

Who knows. We shall see once Febuary comes around.
