It was (as I recall) Mighty Mister Titan, Johnny Cypher, Super President, Sam Bassett, Paddy Pelican, Rocket Rod, Dick Digit, and we were supposed to get Harry Happy but they ended the panel early to start the next one. We bought a seven disc set from Jerry of ALL the WCE shows, so now we have the 2 that were were missing.

Natty 07-25-2009 12:17 AM

I was rudely awakened last night when I received a text-message, which read that Tom K. was at the con! It made me so happy, I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night! :smed:

One Radical Dude 07-25-2009 01:01 AM

Which Tom K.? In this case, it doesn't matter, because both Kane and Kenny are here for this year's Comic-Con.

Anyway, it was a really long Friday. I ran into Carl Greenblatt and Thurop Van Orman at my hotel's lobby. Got one photo taken. I went to two different Clone Wars panels, and I got to meet Dee Bradley Baker, and I saw Tom Kane again. It was a lot of fun. Spoke to Lori from CN (btw, Sparky, she wanted me to tell you that she said hi to you); she was doing portfolio reviews at Sails Pavilion. I met another friend earlier for the first time in person (she's from Sweden). Went to a TMNT panel. At the end, Ernie Reyes, Jr. made a surprise visit (for those familiar with the live-action films, he was Keno in TMNT2 in the 90s). Went to Lauren's booth, asked how things were going, and Tammy List was there (she's still working for CN). You might see Tammy helping Lauren out at the booth. At the end, I went to another panel (the SW Fan Film Awards). For those that went to WCE, sorry that I missed it (hated to choose between two events I liked). I hope it was great. I ate after the panel, and had Ghiradelli's (didn't drop any ice cream this time). That was pretty much it for Day 2. Day 3 may be the most difficult day for me to choose what I'll be doing that day. Wish me well. :P

Rocket Rod I'd heard of--it was Filmation's very first TV effort. But Dick Digit and Harry Happy are enigmas to me.

frankie_fan 07-25-2009 03:42 AM

Hey Cass, you didn't get to see anything about the new Tron sequel, did you?

Lynnie 07-25-2009 04:07 AM

It's just after 5am, and I'm about to leave for the airport. See you guys in about seven hours. :D

OH sorry! I meanth Tom Kenny :p

Lynnie 07-25-2009 11:55 PM

Yay, I finally have something to add today!

My plane landed about five minutes late, no biggie, got in my very first cab ever and rode to my hotel. Check in was a breeze. So the whole plane/airport/transportation thing went great. The last I had heard was Cass and Howard were suppose to meet me at my hotel and we were suppose to head over to the convention center together, so I waited in the lobby for about 30 minutes, then went back to my room to log on and see if there were any messages for me and wait to see if they'd just call me (I didn't have their numbers, so there was little more I could do). So I was totally confused and wasn't sure what to do. Turns out they went to the airport hoping to surprise me by picking me up there. And we totally missed eachother since I wasn't expecting to see them there. Howard finally called me (so he was the first to hear my voice! ^_^), and it turned out easier if I just headed over to the convention center myself. So I did. I hopped the trolley that said "To Convention Center", and ended up riding it WAAAYYYY past where I should have gotten off because apparently there's a transfer station. ::) So I finally realized this, got off and hopped the other one coming in the opposite direction. That time I made it to the CC. Picked up my badge, which wasn't near as big a pain as I thought it might be giving there was virtually no line at all. And wandered through the exhibit hall aimlessly for an hour or so. Took a few pictures, but not much, as I was much too tired and dehydrated to concentrate much on that. I stopped by Lauren's booth (neither her nor Craig were there at the moment), and the guy behind it complimented me on my t-shirt because I was wearing my Venus shirt today. I did however pass by Craig as I was wandering through the crowd. Didn't say anything to him as he has no idea who I am, but I was stoked to see him. Anyway, I got tired of being lost, so I texted Ord, and finally found him, GM and Iceberg having pictures taken with the Bloo costume outside the exhibit hall (Ord was the first person to see me! ^_^). I got to see the costume in person, yay! :yeah: From there we went to Ord's hotel where we met Sparky to drop the costume off and then headed out to meet Cass and Howard to eat. We were getting confused as to how to get to the restaurant; weren't sure which trolley to take, or if we should try walking. Sparky talked a bike taxi driver to drive us. That would be GM, Sparky, Ord, Iceberg and I, all piled into the back of one bicycle taxi. Iceberg didn't want to cause anyone discomfort, so he walked, but that taxi driver was awesome and in great shape, because he pulled the other four of us all those blocks (how many were there? I didn't count) to the restaurant. That was an experience I won't forget. 8D We finally met up with Cass and Howard, who had been holding us a table for some time. Iceberg arrived not long after. We had a great meal, I had a chicken dish with green olives and a red wine sauce, it was delicious! Then we headed over to Ghiradelli's for ice cream. MAN, what a packed place that was! I had a waffle cone with a single scoop of chocolate ice cream. It was heavenly. Then Sparky, GM, Ord, Howard and Iceberg headed off to retrieve the Bloo costume and get back to their hotels because they needed to leave, and I hung out with Cass for the remainder of the evening. We went to his hotel, where he gave me a pic of Mac he had requested Craig draw for me since I missed the sketches and signings today (Thank you Cass!!), and we talked and laughed and giggled much like we do on the boards here. 8D Howard came by briefly to pick something up he had left in Cass' hotel earlier in the day, and he kindly drove me back to my hotel, since he had his own vehicle and knows his way around SD pretty well. I'm very thankful to him for that since I was already so tired, and getting lost at 11 at night in a large city would be a nightmare.

Now I'm in my pjs and comfy and exhausted and still slightly dehydrated I think, but it was all worth it! I can't say how cool it is meeting everyone in person! :)

jekylljuice 07-26-2009 12:31 AM

Sounds like you're having a proper blast, Lynnie. I really wish I could be there with you. Enjoy it for the both of us, won'tcha? ;)

Lynnie 07-26-2009 12:39 AM

Will do, JJ. I'll certainly try anyway. :)

I'm debating whether to wear my contacts tomorrow or my glasses. My eyes are so tired now from wearing my contacts all day. Eh, I guess I'll see how they are in the morning.

Howard 07-26-2009 12:39 PM

Well what can I say? I quote Cass, "stars!" The ComiCon was an adventure and a half! In both Cass and myself's case, it was "It's a Mad Mad World," meets "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure," meets "Foster's Goes to Europe" all in one. The whole city was insane! Costumed and non-costumed fans all over the place. Parking was horrible, but we took pedal taxis (have a pic). It was the most wonderful experience I have ever had. I needed to get out of Arizona, and this was the way to do it.

My first and most important mission, was to meet Craig and Lauren. I was able to meet Craig in the morning, but Lauren was on the phone. I told him we were picking up another friend at the airport and would be back for signings at 1pm (See Lynnies story about Cass and I trying to meet up with her). Cass and I ran out to the airport to surprise her, with no success. We were cutting it close to signing time, so I illegally dropped Cass off to get sketches done for me and Lynnie. I spent 20 minutes looking for a parking spot which cost $30! I met up with Craig and Lauren finally, and wished her a Happy Birthday. I then had this taken (a little fuzzier than I liked, but good enough):

Some of Lauren's MWGG stuff (congrats on the toy store deals!). NOTE: Craig somehow got in the pic;):
http://www.imagebam.com/image/31d3d343260366

Here is a ped taxi driver. Most of them are students; great way to get around in the city (note Cass trying to get in the pic - he too is so vain):
http://www.imagebam.com/image/430ad543260359

Later on, we all met up for a wonderful dinner. It was a pleasure meeting with ORD, Sparky, Government Man, Iceburg, Lynnie, and Cass. It was also a pleasure to meet the Frankie and Terrence plushy dolls! They get around geographically more than I do! All of you are great to hang out with. I hope to see many more you at the Con next year!

Sparky 07-26-2009 03:04 PM

Con ended for us yesterday, but here we are now in Anaheim. GM and Iceberg are over at Disneyland with a couple other guys from the Rescue Rangers fanforum they're on. I was with them for a while but my body's had it, I can't walk anymore. So I'm back at the hotel, at least for a while. We're here tomorrow, too. Let me look through my camera and see if I have any good photos to post, but I didn't take all that many. Watching a Cronkite special on the hotel TV right now.

It was another great day. Slept until eleven, the best night sleep I've gotten in over a week I think. Bummed around my hotel for an hour or so before I moseyed on down to the trolley station and made my way to the Convention Center. It was nice not having to rush. Ord and I hooked up, and I just followed him around the exhibit hall all day. We saw stuff. I bought two tee shirts from Lauren's booth, but she wasn't there. So we tried back later and both she and Craig were there, so I was delighted to finally meet them. Craig drew me a sketch of Blooregard, so now I have two sketches, yay! I got a pic of myself with them, too. :w00t: I got a Peanuts tee shirt for my mother, and Ord bought some other tee shirts and met up with some other friends, and we didn't leave the exhibit hall until they were closing. Good bye Comic-Con for another year. :'( We took a short trolley ride to Ord's hotel, and it was so stuffed, it was barely even "standing room only", it was amazing how many people can fit into one trolley, lol. We then went to Ord's hotel room where we just chilled for an hour or so before heading to the nearby mall where we were planning on meeting up with Cass for dinner. We ate at a Chinese restaurant called Panda Inn, and it was excellent. I had lemon chicken, which is probably my favorite Chinese dish. Afterward, we moseyed back to the trolley station so we could get back to our hotels. Sadly we were going in opposite directions, so we said our good byes there. I miss you guys!! :'(

So yup, it's all over. I fly back to Seattle tomorrow (Monday) at 2pm. I hope for pleasant and safe travels to Ord and Cass too. And Sparky, GM and Iceburg too for that matter, even though they aren't in SD anymore. They're not "home" yet either.

Oh, and I wore my contacts again, my eyes felt much, much better after a good night's sleep. :)

One Radical Dude 07-27-2009 01:01 AM

Day 3: Saturday was extremely crazy. It wasn't bad, but it was all over the place. I met up with one friend I haven't seen in nearly five years. I went to a Marvel panel for an upcoming series to air AMs on CN called "Marvel Super Hero Squad". I met up with other friends. This series features actors, such as Tom Kenny, Charlie Adler, Steve Blum, Grey DeLisle, and a few others. Spoke to Tom Kenny briefly. Tom had to leave early to go to the Sponebob panel (thankfully, it's the next room down (or up?). Stan 'The Man' Lee was at the panel briefly, too. I liked what I saw on the previews. I did get speak to Grey briefly and saw her son (he's growing up). I went to the Cartoon Voices I panel (had Bill Farmer, Chuck McCann, Vanessa Marshall, and a few others). I tried to spot Lauren that day, but each time I went to the booth, I saw Ryan (Lauren's brother) and during the second time around, I saw Tammy List and Ryan. I put on the Bloo costume for a little bit. I was definitely a hit. Got to meet Lynnie and Howard, and the NF group had dinner and had ice cream from Ghiradelli's (no scoop fell to the ground this time). Then, I had to send costume back to Sparky and GM (they left for Anaheim, and they didn't have the box). I said goodbye to those I'd not see for a while. I went to see the second half of the masquerade, and stayed until the results were revealed. Samurai Jack was a big winner for the masquerade this year. During the masquerade party, I saw a Jazz (an Autobot from Transformers) cosplayer bust some dance moves. Not a bad day, though the scheduling was not great.

Finale, Day 4: I went to Lauren's booth, didn't see Lauren or Craig there (it was Tammy and Ryan again). Then, I went to Cartoon Voices II (it had Jess Harnell, Greg Cipes, Gregg Berger, Susan Silo, and Tom Kane). I enjoyed that one more than the first one. I was told from Cipes himself that Teen Titans will be returning for Season 6 in the future. The rest of the day, I mostly just hung out inside the Exhibit Hall. I got to meet someone I haven't seen since 2006, and I got to meet a few people from deviantART. And as you saw, Craig did a Bloppypants sketch for me. Another con attendee requested Lauren to sketch Sedusa from PPG, and she did well on that. I purchased a few shirts (not for me). I also ran into a few more people I saw at the con, and I said farewell to them. Then the con ended. Lynnie and I went back to my hotel room to take a short break. Then, it was time to think about what to eat for dinner. This time, we ate at Panda Inn (located at the Westfield Horton Plaza. We slowly marched our way out of the hotel and said farewell for now. It was tough to leave everyone, but I believe we'll be back.

Anyway, some other notes I wanted to mention on this visit. For those that were wondering if I saw Keith Ferguson this year. Unfortunately, I did not see him (he may have not attended or I missed him). I did briefly chat with one of his closer friends, Melody (Hygena in "Who Wants to Be a Superhero? Season 2), briefly, but she had to speak with someone that was in an awful hurry about something. I didn't wait long to wait until she was done with the other friend, because I was about to go to another panel. That was for Day 3. On Day 4, I ran into Kermit the Frog. Yes, folks, Kermit THE Frog. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!! :) I took a short clip of Kermit and Steve Whitmire (the puppeteer that did Kermit). I'll try to post it at some point.

Another year, another con. It was a blast. I look forward to 2010.

jekylljuice 07-27-2009 01:35 AM

Oh man, I love your Bloppy Pants sketch, ORD. And congratulations on running into Kermit - I'll look forward to seeing what he had to say for himself. Glad that everyone had such a good time. :)

:wiltshock: Are you dead serious? Season 6 of Teen Titans WILL HAPPEN?!?

taranchula 07-27-2009 06:08 AM

Ah Dude, you met Kermit!?

That soooooooo trumps my encounter with Red from Fraggle Rock that I had at last years con. ;)

Seriously though I'm glad that everyone had such a great time and that some people's first experiences at the Con were such positive ones and hopefully next year more and more fourmites will have a chance to make the great pilgrimage to Nerdvana.

Natty 07-27-2009 06:46 AM

Tom Kenny approved my comic. I still can't believe it.

..

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!! :smed:

Cassini90125 07-27-2009 08:07 AM

"Nerdvana"? 8D

I did indeed have a great time; I would have posted a lot more about it but frankly I was in a half-exhausted state much of the time. Eh, I'll give you my take on events later. At the moment I need to pack and tidy things up a bit, although happily neither will take very long. Checkout is in about three hours, and my flight takes off two hours after that. There's a one-hour layover in Dallas; I may try to check in at that point, otherwise I'll be back sometime early Wednesday morning Eastern Time.

One Radical Dude 07-27-2009 08:30 AM

Well, this will likely be the last post I make before I leave San Diego. It's been a real blast, and I already miss a city I haven't even left, yet! I really "conned out" earlier. I was about to get ready to hit the bed (didn't turn off the computer), and I simply just lied on the bed briefly. However, I ended up waking up after 6am, wondering why I still have lights and a computer on. Yeah, I definitely conned out. 8D

zwiebel 07-27-2009 08:47 AM

oh my god i have ALWAYS wanted to go to the comic con!
i envy you guys.
maybe next year i'll be able to come too. :bloosmirk:

Lynnie 07-27-2009 08:57 AM

I just got back from my hotel's breakfast, and am quite satisfied with my belly full of eggs, cinnamon roll, yogurt, oatmeal, milk and orange juice. I missed the breakfast yesterday because I slept through it. I check out in about an hour, and am taking a shuttle to the airport after I do. *sigh* I really hate to go.

Oh, I forgot to mention last night while getting on the trolley, a creepy old dude started hitting on me. Oh...kay.... So I went out of my way to find some other women and sat with them. Thankfully he left me alone after that. Ah, such is the experience of a big city late at night. 8D

Cassini90125 07-27-2009 01:31 PM

I'm currently at the San Diego airport. My flight has been delayed at least two hours so I'm not certain when I'll get home. My laptop's battery won't last forever so while I'll check in when I can, don't expect me to stay long. :P

On the bright side, the airport's wifi signal works well.

One Radical Dude 07-27-2009 02:31 PM

I've been back in Anaheim for over an hour now. This is my final full day in California for this trip. I do not look forward to going back to Arkansas, and to go back to work one day later. :P I'm ready to fast forward to 2010. lol I'll have to post links to photos for those that don't use Facebook.

Imaginary Light 07-27-2009 02:50 PM

Sounds like you guys had a really great time! Hehe, I'm jealous.:P Hope everyone has safe travels home!

Howard 07-27-2009 03:38 PM

While ORD was admiring his Bloppy Pants drawing from the man himself, here is mine (also done by the man himself). This is my "Cranky Frankie":

http://www.imagebam.com/image/813a2743379125

Lynnie 07-27-2009 07:41 PM

Here I am, back home in Seattle, safe and sound. :) I'm not happy to be back though. Not only do I return to work on Wednesday, but we're currently under a heat advisory and a stagnant air advisory. I could clearly see a brown halo over the city as my plane was descending from the heavens. Blech. And it's 8:30 right now and.. *checks temp* ..it's 91 out. Oh, and did I mention few residences in this area have air conditioning? ::) It's suppose to reach the 100s on Wednesday. Kill me, kill me now. It doesn't make much sense that southern Cali is 20+ degrees cooler than northern Washington.

Anyway, enough complaining. I had a blast! It was just way too awesome meeting everyone. I know I already said that, but it's soooo true! And it was a fun experience. I hope I can make it down next year too, although it's still much too early to make any definite plans.

One good thing about my being home, I can now upload my pics!

Cassini90125 07-27-2009 07:59 PM

Well, here I am... in Irving, Texas, stranded at the local Super 8 for the night. Seems that my connecting flight from Dallas could not be bothered to wait. Ah, well, the adventure continues. At present I'm guessing that I'll be home around 1:00 PM Eastern time, barring weather delays.

Nice room here; bigger than the one I had in San Diego. Also has a complementary roach. My life is so weird. 8D Anyway, I'll obviously have a lot to write about tommorrow but since my power cable is in my suitcase at the airport I won't be doing much tonight, just going over the day's posts and then out to find food. Horrible heat and humidity here but I'll manage. ;)

Lynnie 07-27-2009 08:26 PM

Another roach? I think they like you. And they tell their friends about you. So all across the country, roaches pop out to say "Hi" whenever Cassini is around. 8D

It would be nice if I shared some more info about my actual day, huh? Well, after I logged off here, I packed my computer and went to check out. No problems there. I didn't owe a single cent. I love Travelocity! I waited for the airport shuttle in front of the hotel for only about five minutes. The driver was very pleasant, and I was the only rider during that run so he was very friendly with me. I gave him a hefty tip when he dropped me off. :) I arrived about three hours before my flight left, so I read one of the books I had brought, got droopy eyed, and ended up dozing off in the airport chair. The first flight was a 25 minute one to LA, where I had an hour lay over before continuing to Seattle. The short flight was in probably the smallest plane I've ever flown in, it was fun! The flight from LA to Seattle wasn't as long as the flight down on Saturday, we must have had a tail wind. The plane was packed to the max though, so it wasn't the most comfortable flight. A lot of kids were on board too, including a few young ones who liked throwing fits. And they did two or three times while in the air. :P There was also an entire Japanese family flying, including grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins. Big group. One of the ladies sitting right behind me didn't speak English, and was actually using her cell phone during much of the flight. The attendants had to tell her two or three times to please turn it off. There was another young family from somewhere in Africa and it appeared they were in traditional garb, they were beautiful! Other than the cramped quarters and the kids screaming now and then, it wasn't a bad flight. We arrived about 10 minutes early (yeah, we had to have had a tail wind), and I called my dad to tell him I had arrived so he could meet me at the baggage claim without having to park. And... yeah, that was pretty much it. ;)

One Radical Dude 07-27-2009 08:57 PM

I'm happy to know that you've made it safely. Not so glad to hear about the heat and really poor air quality. Tomorrow, I go back to AR and I have really good rain chances. It could make things ugly. :P

Lynnie 07-28-2009 12:40 AM

Here's to a safe (and quick) flight out, Ord.

I uploaded my pics to Facebook. Here they are for anyone who'd like to take a look. :) About half of them are of the trip to and from SD though. I was there the smallest amount of time though, so my collection will probably be the smallest compared to the other collections. ;)

PeterFoster111 07-28-2009 01:10 AM

Enjoy your trip to the con! Just one question, is there something about fosters at the con? If there is, make sure you have a video camera and take a video of that something about fosters if there is. Good Luck

Lynnie 07-28-2009 01:18 AM

Thank you, but the Con's over now. It was last week. People are on their way back home now. ;) If you read the latest few posts, it should have been pretty obvious that it's over now.

And no, there wasn't anything related to Foster's there this year, other than the show's creator Craig McCracken and his wife Lauren, who also did a lot of work on the show. It's always nice to hear from them whether or not there's anything going on with Foster's.

PeterFoster111 07-28-2009 08:23 AM

I diden't know Lauren was Craig's wife! :craig: :lauren:

Cassini90125 07-28-2009 10:34 AM

I'm back home, running the air conditioner on high. The final part of the return trip was without incident; I even got a primo seat, just behind the first class section. The unplanned stay at the Super 8 in Irving was pleasant enough, albeit not under the best of circumstances. The storms that delayed everything fired up again shortly after I checked in and continued for another hour; heavy downpours, thunder and lightning, you know the type. After I checked in here I sent out for a large pizza, ate the whole thing (first food I'd had in about 18 hours), and went to bed. Not a bad hotel, not bad at all. :)

One Radical Dude 07-28-2009 11:27 AM

I'm on a plane to Houston now. More to come later.

Lynnie 07-28-2009 12:47 PM

Whew, another one made it home safely. Good to hear it, Cass.

This is one of the few times I do NOT like thunderstorms- when it threatens to delay flights and/or cause scary problems in the air. Now I await Ord's return as he's likely going to run into the same weather. :macwor:
