Another small update. She released another new design for a kids' shirt today, featuring Venus doing her piruette, which I'm sure any GG fan has already seen. This has got to be my favorite so far, Venus being one of my favorites and being a fan of ballet. Here it is!

Lynnie 07-21-2009 10:34 PM

Another design for childrens' shirts is up, this one featuring the five GGs that seem to be the most popular- Milky Way, Venus, Jupiter, Pluto and Mars. Here it is! :lauren:

And tomorrow, TOMORROW, being the official kick off day of the Con, will be the big announcement we've all been waiting for. :D Stay tuned.

Cassini90125 07-21-2009 10:40 PM

I'm hoping she got a contract for a MWGG comic or maybe a cartoon series. ;D

Natty 07-22-2009 12:53 PM

I realy want to get the poster, but I don't think my boyo will be happy with a 'kids poster' in our hallway 8D

That's what I'm hoping for too. I think the character designs are beautiful, and that the whole thing has a very good ethos behind it.

It appears I may have misread her blog yesterday. "Just one more day left in the countdown. At ignition, we’ll announce the big news so get ready!!" "Just one more day" =/= "Tomorrow". My apologies. :-[

But she's at Preview Night at the Con, and posted some pics of her booth right here. :lauren:

And now, and I quote, "Tomorrow is the big news. Prepare for launch!!" So now I'm really, really getting excited!

Cassini90125 07-22-2009 06:12 PM

I was at Lauren's booth earlier today. I know things.

BUT, since the official announcement isn't until tommorrow, I'll keep my mouth shut. 8D :bendy:

Sparky 07-22-2009 07:58 PM

Oh crud, was I not supposed to post the video?? I can take it back down...

Cassini90125 07-22-2009 08:01 PM

I honestly don't know; it might be prudent to take it down, just in case, although if Lauren didn't want the information leaked I think she'd have said so, or not told us anything to begin with. :macwor:

Sparky 07-22-2009 08:11 PM

That's really what I thought. I thought it would be neat to break the news with a video of her talking about it. But okay, I'll wait until she's said it on her blog.

Lynnie 07-23-2009 10:28 AM

Ok guys, it's finally up, her big announcement. And that is MW&tGG items, including 24 inch rag dolls, will be for sale at F.A.O. SCHWARZ and select TOYS 'R US stores this holiday season!! :w00t: :yeah:

Many congratulations are in order, the girls have had a rough year. I'm soooo happy for Lauren and her Solar Sisterhood! Hopefully the nearest Toys 'R Us to me will carry them, I'm so wanting me a Venus and Jupiter doll.

Here's the official announcement!

Sparky 07-23-2009 12:52 PM

Don't forget you can order them online from FAO and TRU, and you may be able to get your local TRU to special order you some if they don't have them.

Anyways the video I made is here but as of now it is still processing. It's only 36 seconds long, hopefully it'll be up like, today. :P

Sparky 11-11-2009 11:13 AM

The dolls are available for pre-order! Milky Way, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto.

I don't know which one to get. :P Plus $50 is kind of a whopping chunk o'change for me. But I really want to get one.

Lynnie 11-11-2009 11:37 PM

I so want to get the Venus doll. :bloosmirk: I agree $50 is a little steep, but it beats the price the original hand made ones were. Not that they weren't worth it of course. The hand made ones were created with love by Lauren herself. It's just... I could not afford one.

I'm so happy for her in that the dolls are availible now (for pre-order, anyway). She posted a pic of herself on Facebook holding each of the dolls. She looks so much like a proud momma with her brood of kids. :nyah: I think it's awesome!

Sparky 01-01-2010 05:51 PM

Did you guys read Lauren's latest news (not on the GGirls but on herself)??

CLICK

That is absolutely HUGE news, about MLP. :wiltshock:

frankie_fan 01-01-2010 06:02 PM

The fact that she's teaming up with the guys that did Transformers, Star Trek AND Fringe is surprising!

Lynnie 01-01-2010 07:49 PM

She first broke this news a few weeks ago on Facebook, but only shared a link to the NYT article, and you have to be a subscriber to read the whole article. I understood it was a movie, but I see now it's an animated show. That's terrific news! Many, many congrats are in order! :yeah:   :w00t:

taranchula 01-02-2010 07:52 PM

What I want to know is, with this new show will Lauren fall back into old habits and make one or more of the pony's voices sound "butch". :slybendy:

Come on, you know most of us had to be thinking that after hearing this latest bit of news.

Sparky 01-20-2010 06:04 PM

Cartoon Brew posted a short article today about McCracken's and Faust's latest projects, here. Cartoon Brew is a popular animation blog read all over the world, so this is great publicity for both of them.

Cassini90125 01-20-2010 06:37 PM

Great to read that MWGG is catching on. Craig is hoping to get WOY animated? That'd be cool.

Bet I can guess what network it won't be on. :P

Howard 01-20-2010 06:53 PM

That is fantastic about WOY! I bought ALL three items from Craig himself (he handled my card!) and had the book signed. I will be wearing that shirt at the Con this year (I wonder if it will look good with my viking helmet and spear).

It's that network's loss and someone else's gain.

That's great news! Definitely happy for those two.

Anything looks good when the wearer is welding a pointed stick. ;)

Seriously though, hopefully both of these projects will really take off and bring that spark of imagination to the media landscape once more.

Best of all if that should occur we can be all like "We were into these characters before they were cool."

That is so true about getting into these characters before the main populace. I would love to see this wonderful artwork come to life.

Sparky 03-20-2010 03:02 PM

Milky Way dolls are only $29 now!!

I still haven't got one...but I am busted right now. :( Hopefully I'll have money again before this deal goes away (if its temporary).
