COLORADO SPRINGS! awesome! I've seen that before. :)

Lynnie 01-18-2008 04:14 PM

Lol, Mac's really, REALLY amazed at MLK Jr's birthplace! I wonder what historical fact about it amazed him so? Now I'm curious. And haha, yeah, Madame F seems to come across as a great monarch of Hawaii. Probably because of the mention of a "Zamboo" tribe she once visited, and her love for traveling and culture. She fits right in.

Keep up the greatness WiltsAK! :D

LaBloo 01-19-2008 07:50 AM

It's a good thing you're still at this project.

Dragonrider1227 01-22-2008 02:16 PM

Those are all great! I love Goo in Disney World. Too cute!

Thanks, Lynnie! I, too, would like to know what amazed Mac so much.

I'd love to see Madame Foster run the state of Hawaii for even one day. That'd be fun to watch...

I had to take a loooong break for Christmas and then I was swamped with schoolwork. I'm still working at it though!

Thanks. So far, Goo at Disney World's my favorite for the cute factor.

Haha, Eduardo in the potato state. Well done! :smed:

Lynnie 01-23-2008 06:11 PM

Yes, Ed appears to be VERY happy at the potato expo. I wonder if he made any crafts out of potatoes, as well as eating to his heart's delight? They have lots of crafts at th Potato Festival here. Kind of funny, actually. :nyah:

More greatness WiltsAK! :D

Thanks. Ed and Idaho just seemed to click. I credit antgirl1 for the concept for the most part here.

When I saw the picture of Ed from the screengrabs, I instantly knew that this was what I wanted to use. On the Idaho tourism site, I punched "potato" into the search engine and the Potato Expo was the only thing that came up. <:-/> What kind of crafts can you make with a potato?

I'll be getting around to Illinois, possibly Indiana, tomorrow. Unless they call school-- they're letting us out EARLY today (I'm in my last class of the day, 6th period) for a blizzard warning or whatever.

Thanks, Lynnie!

You're very welcome. Eduardo loooooves potatoes, and Idaho's famous for them, so it's rather obvious to use this idea, since other than that there's really nothing really that much of interest here other than the Anne Frank statue in Boise.

I didn't know there was an Anne Frank statue in Boise. Darn... May I ask why Boise over another city? If you know?

WiltsAKGirl17 01-25-2008 11:54 AM

Please forgive my double post, oh wise NF users, but I have part 13 done:

Part 13: Illinois

Enjoy!

Cassini90125 01-25-2008 12:06 PM

Exceptional job on this one; crisp and clear. Well done!

WiltsAKGirl17 01-25-2008 12:28 PM

Thanks, Cassini. I did what Lynnie suggested-- saved it as a bitmap (bmp) file instead of a jpg. (Thanks Lynnie! :D)

Cassini90125 01-25-2008 12:38 PM

Definitely a good idea. Every screencap or any other image that I intend to work with, it may end up as a JPEG or a GIF, but they always start their lives as bitmaps. They take up a fair amount of disk space but they're easier to work with in Paint, and the quality is so much better than most other formats. :)

Other than my home town, and Boise, I don't know much else of Idaho's stuff...just because I live in Idaho doesn't mean I'd know alllll about it. XD

Don't mention it. :)

I had to look twice to see that the steering wheel is part of the cartoon, not the photo. I was wondering "What on earth is Bloo driving??" lol

As someone who use to live in Peoria, Illinois, and before that Albuquerque, New Mexico, I remember Route 66 well. A lot of history that road carries in its asphalt.

'Nother nice piece, WiltsAK!

No kiddin'. I know very little about Alaskan history, even though I had to take an Alaska History course in 10th grade.

I was a little worried about the way I did the picture, but I guess it came off okay. I tend to be a little paranoid about my work.

I loved Rt. 66 when I saw it a couple summers ago-- it was so rich and amazing. One of the towns we stayed in on Rt. 66 was Williams, Arizona, and I think it was one of the highlights of the whole trip. It made me buy a Rt. 66 2007 calender, which had some amazing pictures in it. If only I could use it again this year...

Thanks, Lynnie!

Lynnie 01-26-2008 09:04 PM

You, my dear, are most welcome. :)

You can always tear pages out of the calender and frame them. I've done that with a few pics from old calenders that I like. ;)

WiltsAKGirl17 01-28-2008 12:24 PM

Here's part 14, 15:

Indiana

Iowa (I'm rather proud of Iowa)

Enjoy!

Cassini90125 01-28-2008 12:29 PM

I like Donna Reed. :)

Stars, I can see Cheese galloping around on that thing. 8D

Well done! ;D

Same here. I love It's a Wonderful Life-- I've been to the Jimmy Stewart Museum in Indiana, Pennsylvannia (you CAN't make a location like that up!), so this was cool and fanscinating.

Yes. Or if it just lies there and doesn't do anything-- :cheese:: Horsey broken.

Thanks, Cassini!

P.S. Does anyone have any ideas for Kansas or Kentucky? they're next on my list.

Lynnie 01-28-2008 06:12 PM

More brilliance here WiltsAK. :D I too love Donna Reed. She left this world far before her time. Did you know that It's a Wonderful Life has been voted as the best movie ever made? I think it's well deserving.

Hmm, Kansas and Kentucky. Well, Kansas is famous for Dorothy's and Toto's home in The Wizard of Oz. "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." And with or without the help from "Oz", it's well known for tornadoes. And Kentucky makes me think of country music. And Kentucky Fried Chicken. Home of some of the yummiest, flakiest, buttery biscuits in the country if you ask me. ;) And its exploration and settlement is thanks to Daniel Boone. That's all I can think of at the moment.

some guy you dont know 01-29-2008 04:33 AM

Being a native to Kentucky, I can think of some ideas:

Kentucky derby at churchhill downs,
Mammoth Cave,
John James Audobon(sp?) State Park(filled with bird pictures and other stuff.)

WiltsAKGirl17 01-30-2008 12:25 PM

Here's 16, 17:

Kansas (I hope you guys saw this coming...)

Kentucky (Thanks, some guy you don't know, for the location suggestion!)

Enjoy!

Cassini90125 01-30-2008 12:57 PM

Oh, that Blooregard. 8-)

When you run out of states you might consider setting some of these in other countries for a "Foster's Really Goes To Europe" series. :D

Well done!

Lynnie 01-30-2008 05:39 PM

Haha, "Topeka", why didn't I think of that. Of course it's Topeka! Nice wording with that one, too. :bloosmirk:

Oh look, Cheese has got his own horsey for the Derby. I wonder if anyone's betting on that one? :cheese: "I'm a horsey! BAA!" "Shut. Up." LOL!!

Looking forward to more. What's next, Louisiana?

Blooregard, indeed. (:herriman:)

I really am considering taking Foster's worldwide. I didn't think of the FGTE thing though, which is a shame... I'll try to get that started soon.

Thanks, Cassini!

The second I saw Topeka in a Kansas tourism site, I had go here. I'm glad you liked the wording-- I write and read a lot, so I'm pretty good at plays on words, and I loved Bloo's "icy chill" line from Bye Bye Nerdy, so it fit very well. 8-) I somehow doubt that anyone's betting on Cheese's horse in the derby. Maybe put a couple of cents on the horse out of pity for the jockey?

Louisiana is next, but I'm not too sure what to do. I'm not exactly comfy with the idea of letting this bunch loose on Mardis Gras... * shudder *

Lynnie 01-31-2008 06:48 PM

I picture Goo in Louisiana. But Mardi Gras? Oh dear... No, no, a thousand times no. That would not go over well. :wiltshock: *shudders too* Ok, shuddering might be contagious at that thought.

Maybe the bayou? When I think of Louisiana, I personally think of the swamps and the grey moss hanging from all the trees. Or concerning food, maybe catfish, crawdads or jambalaya? Or a jazz or blues band? Or simply the Mississippi River? I'm sure you'll think of something perfectly acceptable.

I'm not exactly certain who I envision for Louisiana-- sometimes I know what I want to use, sometimes what character, sometimes both. And now is one of the times when I'm totally clueless. :terrconf:

When I think of Louisiana, I think of the food and the jazz, too. (And Mardi Gras, but I've already 86-ed that idea.) I'm exploring the Cajun reigion and seeing what turns up. I'll try not to disappoint. * Crosses fingers *

Lol Creaky Pete in Louisiana. 8D Can't remember if you've used him yet.

That I have not. I'll see what sorta damage I can do-- I'm still hunting down a location!

WiltsAKGirl17 02-06-2008 12:25 PM

Okay, guys-- please forgive the double post, but here's an update:

I finished Louisiana, but can't put it up because since DA's blocked by the School internet (O, gravest in injustices...), I can't submit it right now-- I can get in because I know what proxy to use (:slybendy:), but it won't let me submit. I'll try to get it up at home-- depends on how the rest of my day goes. (Long story, getting longer by the moment...)

Also, I'm absolutely stuck on Maine. I did Maryland and I'm worrking on Massachusetts, but Maine eludes me. Any ideas? Thanks! :D

Maine? Why LOBSTERS, of course! Eduardo, though, would probably think that they look a little TOO much like a scorpion!

Don't school internet blocking softwares just SUCK? I can't even access the proxy server, now!

Of course, when you get around to South Carolina, I HOPE you know which character to feature!

Well, when I think of Maine, I think of Hawkeye Pierce off of M*A*S*H, considering that I'm the biggest dork in my group of friends! But lobsters do come in at a close second. Hmm... I'll be working on this one.

Yes, school internet does suck some times. And YES, I do know which character to use in South Carolina-- I may be a true dork, but I'm not completely insane! ;)

EDIT: I finally have part 18 up!

Louisiana <Speakin' of South Carolina. Sorta...>

antgirl1 02-06-2008 07:57 PM

Mmmm....Jazz. :D

I know I'm the only one, but when I think of Maine my mind goes straight to Stephen King. 8D

Hooray for Wilt! He's dancing. :D And he's pointing right to the guy sitting down, lol. More greatness, WiltsAK!

Maine? Hmm, yes, I think of lobster. Another thing that comes to my mind is lighthouses and whale watching. Maine has some spectacular ocean views. And it's beautiful in the fall. Lot's of color.

I finished Maine literally moments ago, so they may go up tonight. Maybe now if I can wrangle it. <Attempts to upload pic> AUGH. Nothing. Expect Maine, possibly Maryland, tonight hopefully.

He was born there yes, and many of his stories are set there. His fictional town of Castle Rock is in Maine, he set several of his novels there. And the company that makes the films based on his books is called Castle Rock.

I made a lame joke in one of my Casper fanfics where I mentioned Castle Rock (the Casper movie is also set in Maine). I don't think anyone got it though. :P

Ah, I see-- I learned something tonight. Thanks, Sparky! :D

I have Maine up-- http://supergeek17.deviantart.com/ar...Maine-76782108 (the Internet is going very slow, so I can't do a hyperlink at the moment)-- but because said 'Net is going slow, Maryland may not get up tonight. DA's been "uploading" for the past ten minutes. Grr...

Edit: After 15 minutes of waiting, I have Maryland up: Maryland
