I loved the fact that they actually got caught in a mobius loop in the end. That was the funniest joke for me.

This series is awesome. Cartoon Network extended the episode order, so there will be 20 episodes instead of 13. I haven’t been this excited for a Cartoon Network show since Foster’s debuted.

Yeah, I like it a lot. My brother gave me his old TiVo at Christmas since it had a lifetime subscription on it, and I got a season pass for Chowder. I watch it all the time, I'm trying to catch up.

Edit: I even made a 30 question quiz, if people want to test their knowledge of the series. :berry: Edit II: The above site is undergoing some maintenance at the moment, so the links may or may not work. |
I'm really growing to love this show. It's cute and funny and different. I like the style, where you see a texture in one of the characters (their hat, their coat, their hair, whatever), and when the character moves on the screen, the texture stays in one place. It's just a different form of animation, and I'm starting to see a lot of it starting to appear. I find it interesting, and it draws my eyes in. :smed:
I'm not too fond of Truffles. She's annoying to me. But I love Schnitzel, Panini, and Chowder. They're adorible. And I'm still amused at Schnitzel always saying "radda". Change that for "coco" and it'd be all too familiar. My favorite part so far is when Chowder is asking Mung Daal if he can make purple nurples and Mung says "No". So Chowder gets all bug eyed and tried to look as pathetic as he can and starts begging, much like yet another Foster's character we all know..... "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......" "You can't keep that up forever!" "Yes I caneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....." "Alright! Now stop it!" "Trying to but I'm stuckeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......" *well, it went something like that* I also love it when whenever Chowder even sees Panini he has to yell "I'm not your boyfriend!" Cracks me up every time! 8D |

Should I be listening out for any familiar voice actors? |

"Please?" "No, Chowder." "Please?" "No!" "Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeee..." "Chowder..." "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..." "Chowder, you can't keep that up forever..." "Yes I can - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..." "Chowder, no!" "But Mrs. Endive let Panini do it - eeeeeeeeeee..." "Endive... If that beast thinks her apprentice is ready, then my apprentace is more than ready! Chowder, get ready to cook!" "Whoo hoo! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..." "Chowder, you can stop that now." "I wish I could, but I'm stuck - eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..." ... Yeah I'd do great in a quotes section. :bloocross: |
This show is awesome. It's one of the last great CN shows still getting new episodes. (The others Foster's & Camp Lazlo)

Haha, I'm still loving this show! :D I loved last week's episode "The Bruised Bluenana", Panini cracks me up. Whenever I hear (or read) the word "panini" now I think of her. I just had one myself last week at Panera Bread. Yummy stuff... Anyway, I like the spontaneous and original humor the writers come up with. Like how Chowder couldn't stop moving his hands while emphasizing his worries, and then Panini couldn't stop moving her head while showing Gazpacho some attitude. Schnitzel had to help both of them stop. 8D

The Bruised Bluenana is my new favorite episode.
Panini's a friggin' psycho in that one. And that part where Chowder held out his arms over and over again made me laugh so hard I almost fell off the edge of my bed. Chowder: Mung, are women usually this emotionally draining? *Truffles drains Mung's emotions from a faucet and drinks it* Mung: ..not at all. Also, the most recent episode contains a subtle reference to the "I like Turtles" kid, at least I think so: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMNry4PE93Y |
I was practically on the floor laughing when Chowder sang that little lullaby to his "pretend blunana baby"... How'd it go?
Lullaby And good night Go to sleep my pretend blunana baby. Please get better very quickly So Panini will stop bothering me All the tiiiiiiiiimmme! 8D 8D 8D Yup, I think this show is becoming one of my favorite cartoons. |
My favorite is the one where Mung won't wake up.

I've still yet to properly see this show for myself, but my curiousity grows ever more fervent by the minute. In my current Cartoon Network-deprived condition, I have no idea whether or not it's actually reached our shores as yet. I've watched a few brief clips and fan videos over on youtube, but that's about it.

Every Thursday my younger brother always asks me if I want to watch the new episodes of Chowder with him, so it has sort of become our Thursday night tradition. :P
It's just such a fun show to watch, and I always find myself laughing at it. I especially enjoyed Mr. Tummy from the newest episode. "MR. TUMMY IS HUNGREH!"8D |
Wow, has it been this long since this thread has been posted in?
Anyway, I didn't quite catch the Chowder's Valentine episode on Thursday night so I recorded it to my DVR and watched it just now. Did anyone else who watched it enjoy that little "live action" segment they did? 8D It's still kind of early, so in case there are a few still hoping to see it, I'll put it in spoilers. Basically what happened is Truffles got really sick, and Chowder, Schnitzel and Mung go out and spend all this money that Truffles didn't want them to spend. They spend it all on absurd and useless stuff, and finally find out that they are entirely out of money. At finding this out, Mung says "Do you know what this means?? It means...." I wish Foster's had done something like that, that would have been downright awesome! And the scene cuts to the voice cast in the sound booth! "....no more animation!" Dwight Schultz finishes saying. It shows them talking in the sound booth for a few moments, Tara (Truffles) asking what they should do, Nicky Jones (Chowder) and John DiMaggio (Schnitzel) also get a few words in, each in their character's voices. Anyway, the answer to get more money was to do a car wash, so it shows them (the voice actors, not the cartoon characters) doing a car wash to raise money. And finally, still doing their character voices, Dwight declares they have enough to get animation back, and it suddenly goes back to the cartoon. :bloosmirk: The whole live action segment lasted maybe 60 seconds, but I thought that was such a creative idea, it was so cool to see what they look like in person. |
That sounds hilarious, hopefully that episode will air on Teletoon soon and at a time where I will be awake enough to see it. Because I found out the hard way today that TT moved Chowder from it's 10:00AM time slot to the less sleep friendly 8:00AM.
At least on the bright side I am learning more and more if I am ever up early on Saturday from now on, there are decent cartoons to watch. |
stop being so attractive tara strong
i'm serious |
There was a new episode on tonight, as there is every night this week, and there was another appearance from one of the voice actors, although I'm not sure which one. I'm not familiar with their appearances like I am with the Foster's cast. He was also wearing a wig. But again, it was pretty cool. Man, I wish Foster's had done something like that, I would have loved to see them in action.
There was also a line that Mung Dal said that raised an eyebrow of mine. "Chowder, that is NOT ok!" Not just the words he used, but also the way he said it made me wonder if they got it from another show. :D |

Well this bites....
http://voiceactors.wordpress.com/200...n-for-chowder/
Looks like another one of CN's good shows is about to be tossed away like a moldy worm infested kumquat. You know while this show certainly didn't quite reach the levels of comic nirvana that our favorite cartoon did (Not a knock, a lot of my favorite shows also fall into the same category), it was still one of the more clever and off beat shows to have come down the turnpike in recent years. (As an aside: The mere fact I was able to watch and enjoy Chowder on a semi regular bases, despite a less then favorable first impression is a testament to it's quality in and its self.) But according the article things are not as bad as they seem, and if the fans of this show can get together and send a message to the network saying "No, we don't want this series to be canned in favor of UK reality show remake #2453" then maybe things will improve slightly within the network that used to be about toons, toons and nothing but the toons. And that would be wonderful. |
Ah. There was a rumor started earlier this spring I believe that the show was ending, and it was started by someone who actually worked on the show so everyone believed it. Basically they were talking about ending it, but hadn't actually decided yet. According to the rumor, the decision was leaning toward ending it. :bloosad: Everyone freaked out, but others kept stressing that it hadn't been confirmed yet. Eventually it was passed as just a "rumor". Looks like it turned out to be true afterall.
I don't think I'll be watching CN anymore. Chowder was the only show I still watched really. Once that's gone, there's no reason for me to tune in anymore. :P |
