Anyways, this game Still does NOT look interesting to me. Foster's BFAHP was enough, IMO. :) |
Fyi, if anyone's interested in signing up for the beta, don't use Firefox. It won't accept the dxdiag.txt file you have to upload if you use Firefox. IE seems to work okay though.
|
Well, as it's now 2008, some seem to be getting more in the hype of this game. It was originally suppose to come out "Spring of 2008", and now it says "Summer of 2008". Not too surprising though, there always seems to be something that comes up to postpone the original date.
With the new beta, there's a new look to the page, for anyone who hasn't visited it in a while. New pictures, too. Including this one- http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/TheHouse.jpg Nice. :yeah: I still don't think I'll actually play it, but I'm still enjoying seeing some of our favorite cartoon characters done in a different style. Locations too, as you can see. Along with our favorite mansion here, there's also a pic of Leaky Lake (from Camp Lazlo), and Sector V's Tree House (From Codename: KND), and Mojo's Volcano (from PPG), and a few others. I still think they're all fun to see. ;) |
Very nice. I don't plan on playing either but I must admit to being intrigued. I look forward to seeing some pics of the characters.
|
I know, me too. I've searched throughout the sight looking for any Foster's characters, and didn't find any that aren't already posted in this thread. I don't know how many pics we'll be able to see without actually playing the game though. Hopefully someone will be able to get screen shots.
I'm wanting to see Wilt in this game, wondering what he'd look like. :D Ed was in the video, so I'd think Wilt (and Coco) would be there too. Oh, and in the pic above, there appears to be a labyrinth of some sort behind the house. I found that amusing. :bloosmirk: |
There's a new interview up with Sam Lewis, the lead designer of the game here. Some interesting tid bits from the interview-

Considering most MMOs require some sort of payment to play, it shouldn't be a surprise to me. Anything free is better than nothing, but we'll have to wait for more details. Maybe, those details will be revealed at Comic-Con next month.
|
If the business model is like any of those wacky, fun-loving online games like Gunbound, Albatross 18, or Shot Online, chances are some of the better items will require real money to buy.
|
I like how his examples of character interaction all include Mandy =3 Her hanging out with Bloo is something I really want to see =D
If the game ends up being good I'll probably pay up for whatever extras they have in store. Right now I'm playing DOMO but I could probably fit another MMO into my gaming time =3 |
Sorry, can I make a question? I think I've seen EVERY cartoon network character in anime style in deviantart, and seriously, isn't numbuh 5's fanart exactly like in that screenshot a few pages ago?:terrconf:

And if Wilt ever makes it in the game... http://antgirl1.deviantart.com/art/ROFL-JOKING-91132132 THIS is how he'd probably look. =P (Kidding!) |

By the way, the scheduled time for the game to go live now is "Fall 2008". Wouldn't surprise me if it's later postponed to "Christmas 2008" eventually. ::) |
It was originally scheduled to be released this summer, but they pushed it back to this fall. Yay. :P
|
I just went to the site and saw the Eds. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Why of all characters must those three be the ones they took the original designs into account with? Some characters just were not made for animu. I can't imagine the voices of 85% of the characters coming from those bodies.
The art itself is actually really good, sorta Gaia Online-ish. But... Mandark. His eyebrows are so... tweezed! *can't get over it* But we've already discussed the art -- I am curious, but I don't know if I want to eat up more space on my computer or, y'know, pay money. Not to mention whenever I've played MMORPGs before they just didn't keep me interested, and I doubt this'll be different. |
Updated on Cartoon Network: Fusion Fall
if you go to www.fusionfall.com and look in the news section, you'll see links to news reports about a big announcement Cartoon recently made at comic-con. The basic idea of the news reports is that Fusionfall will be completely browser based, no download or CD needed.
Fusionfall will use a new online gaming engine, that allows to load relatively quickly, even in a web browser. Also, the game is reported to be in 3D and have sixty explorable areas. |

There might be a bright side to it. Perhaps they're delaying to refine the game and remove bugs and glitches, something they should have done with BFAHP.
One wonders if they'll give it a new name, given that the current name no longer fits. :P |

Good point.
The ideal name for it would be "Cartoon Network's 'Don't register at Never Forgotten just to bother the staff there with pointless questions about this game' Game" but alas, I don't see that happening. :bloocross: |
And yet people are as welcome as ever to believe that I am the sole creator, coder, programmer, and maintainer of the game. ;)
|
Wouldn't it be cool if the new game included some form of secret co- nevermind.
|
What? Postphoning? AGAIN?? Seriously!
I'm starting to think they'll NEVER release it. But keep postphoning everytime the deadline comes around. At January..."Postphoned to Summer 2009" At Summer..."Postphoned to Winter 2009" At Winter..."Postphoned to Spring 2010" And It'll just keeping doing that in an endless cycle. It's like they're just saying "Hey, let's pretend to make a fun online game, show all the neat stuff we'll "put" into it, add a lot of hype to it, and "allow" beta testing! It'll be fun! No one will get allowed in, all of it would be fake, everything! It's genious!" ::) On a lighter note...looking at the new trailer, I caught THIS: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...l1/FOSTERS.png Eduardo. Frankie. But ignore Eddy. He's always gettin' in the way... |

Looks like an ugly munchkin. :/ Seriously, some cartoons were not made to be redrawn the way this game does it. |
Eh, to be honest, once I got used to the style, it didn't look THAT bad...even though it appears now that Frankie's skirt looks more like those anime mini skirts...D=
|
LULZ, you're right.
Bah, I'm not fond of the "action" style of this game. If it's taking them this long to produce, you might start to wonder: Is the game worth the long wait? |

. . . I want to play this game and all... But that would be genius! Oh the pain and sorrow to the children... Isn't that was big entertainment corporations are all about? So I guess Jhonen Vasques run CN Interactive now? Sounds like something he'd do. |
Anyone else who has an account will also know this...this weekend is apparently some kind of test run for people who are registered. In other words, we get to beta their game for them for free, lol. Anyways just fyi. I don't know if they're accepting registrations now but if so and you want to play this weekend, sign up.
|
W00t! I'm so excited! I'm gonna finally see gameplay from my own place....for at least two days. =P
|
I've played it for over an hour. It's nice. It really has come a long way, since I first saw Fusion Fall back in 2007. For those that are registered, give it a try. I have two Nanos and my main character is at Lv. 2.
|
I love how the characters sound....they sound like themselves and not screwed up by lame voice-artists! :D
|
Okay, this REALLY sucks. I can't play, because the checkbox next to "I agree to the terms and conditions" isn't showing up, and thusly, I cannot click it. >:[
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it to work, finally... I'm excited! :D EDIT2: What a let down. I didn't get to play. The game wouldn't load past this ONE part, so I quit... :( |
Aww, I'm sorry it didn't work for you, B2DM...Thus far I've only seen Eduardo in terms of Foster's characters in-game...So here's what he said:

BTW...Guess who I finally found: http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i.../bg_thanks.jpg Apparently Wilt was the Waldo for "Where's Waldo" 8D |
We've been out all day so I haven't been able to play yet, but I want to...what kind of controls do you use, I don't remember from the Con demo? I may want to play it on my desktop rather than the laptop.
|
Until I get my name approved (which is "Sparky Galatea" btw) I am "Player 103533". (And yeah I'm on right now.) I'm a chick with a blue ponytail in blue jeans and blue hoodie.
|
OMG, does *anybody* understand how to get onto the treehouse?? I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I'm guessing it has something to do with those bouncy things but I dunno what.
Btw I figured out how to climb that building in the center of town with the big glowy characters. I stood in Bloo. 8D edit: nm I got up there. |
Oh yeah, this is the weekend where everyone can play the beta for free, huh? Looks like you guys are enjoying it so far. And I still think it's fun seeing the game's version of CN's characters. I love Mandy in the pic Ant shared, she actually doesn't look near as emo as the cartoon, hehe. :P I don't recall seeing her before.
|
The thing was that I've seen either in art or in game Bloo, Mac, Eduardo, Coco, and Frankie. Guess who was missing from the bunch? ONLY NOW...do we know.
I say my goodbyes to everyone gathered around me before I go into the past....8D |

There are some round whitish things on the ground around the edge of the pit the treehouse floats over. You have to jump on one to launch into the air then push towards the treehouse to "fly" to it.
edit: btw I absolutely cannot get into the game this morning. :( That is disappointing as I was under the impression that they were up for the entire weekend. |
That sucks....I'm trying to get on now...
