"no offense to anyone here but I think it means that they think anime is a "superior" style of animation and that's just sad, in my opinion."
I've seen just as many horrible Animes', as I've seen many horrible Cartoons. It honestly depends on actual design. Like there's lots of different general Cartoon designs, take Justice League, for example, as opposed to, well, Fosters. There's other different Anime designs out there, too. Look it up yourself! lolz! :P

Anyways, this game Still does NOT look interesting to me. Foster's BFAHP was enough, IMO. :)

Sparky 01-11-2008 03:28 PM

Fyi, if anyone's interested in signing up for the beta, don't use Firefox. It won't accept the dxdiag.txt file you have to upload if you use Firefox. IE seems to work okay though.

Lynnie 01-25-2008 06:42 PM

Well, as it's now 2008, some seem to be getting more in the hype of this game. It was originally suppose to come out "Spring of 2008", and now it says "Summer of 2008". Not too surprising though, there always seems to be something that comes up to postpone the original date.

With the new beta, there's a new look to the page, for anyone who hasn't visited it in a while. New pictures, too. Including this one-
http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/TheHouse.jpg

Nice. :yeah:

I still don't think I'll actually play it, but I'm still enjoying seeing some of our favorite cartoon characters done in a different style. Locations too, as you can see. Along with our favorite mansion here, there's also a pic of Leaky Lake (from Camp Lazlo), and Sector V's Tree House (From Codename: KND), and Mojo's Volcano (from PPG), and a few others. I still think they're all fun to see. ;)

Cassini90125 01-25-2008 06:45 PM

Very nice. I don't plan on playing either but I must admit to being intrigued. I look forward to seeing some pics of the characters.

Lynnie 01-25-2008 06:53 PM

I know, me too. I've searched throughout the sight looking for any Foster's characters, and didn't find any that aren't already posted in this thread. I don't know how many pics we'll be able to see without actually playing the game though. Hopefully someone will be able to get screen shots.

I'm wanting to see Wilt in this game, wondering what he'd look like. :D Ed was in the video, so I'd think Wilt (and Coco) would be there too. Oh, and in the pic above, there appears to be a labyrinth of some sort behind the house. I found that amusing. :bloosmirk:

Lynnie 06-12-2008 07:29 PM

There's a new interview up with Sam Lewis, the lead designer of the game here. Some interesting tid bits from the interview-

Quote:

Jason: What characters are going to be the nanos?

Sam: We've got thirty-six. We've got characters from the Kids Next Door – Numbers 1 thru 5. Ben 10. We're not actually giving you a Ben nano, but rather one of Ben 10's alien forms. We are using the newest version of Ben 10.

Jason: The series that has aged him?

Sam: Right, so we selected that. So we have some of the new alien forms and some of the old ones. We've got Grim, Billy, and Mandy. We've got Courage. Dexter, Deedee, and Mandark. Oh, Foster's Home – we've got Blue and Coco. The cool thing is we have Blue in there being as snarky as ever, but we've also got the Blue nano. The cool thing is saying, "Okay, how does Blue and Mandy get along? How long until Mandy kicks Number Three?" So we had a lot of fun with those reactions.
Quote:

Jason: Besides being nanos, are you going to ever be questing with the characters?

Sam: Yes, they'll be in the party with you. So during the quests you'll be taking missions from the characters, but sometimes they'll join you and fight with you. You'll be joined by people like Blue, Billy, and they'll help you complete these missions. So you'll be interacting with them as NPCs, nanos, and as characters that tag along with you.

Jason: Is the battle system going to be standard "click and attack" or is it going to be more action oriented like running and attacking?

Sam: It's definitely a little FPS-ish – not like click on this pixel to hit that pixel, but more hand-eye coordination. A lot of it is also managing the nanos as each nano is better at fighting certain types of monsters; a simple rock, paper, and scissor type of system. So if you have the right nano up you'll do more damage. The monsters have targeted attacks that really take you out of that sandwich combat formula. As you progress a little higher, you will have to pay attention, and we're finding out the kids are really enjoying showing off their player skill.
Quote:

Jason: Is it going to be free play?

Sam: Oh that one I already know – the business model has not been announced yet. How is that? There will be a free component though.

Jason: Are there going to be microtransactions?

Sam: The business model has not been announced yet. (hahaha) That's one of the great things about working for Turner – they are very hands off and give you a tremendous amount of freedom with the property, but the bad thing is there are certain things – like the marketing and PR – that is very important to them and we can't discuss. It's a system that is news worthy enough that they want to make a big deal of it.
Sooooo, it sounds like there will be free parts of the game. That's cool. Although it sounds like probably the most fun parts will require a fee. And hehe, whoever typed this up clearly is not familiar with our favorite show and how to correctly spell Bloo's name. ::)

One Radical Dude 06-12-2008 10:16 PM

Considering most MMOs require some sort of payment to play, it shouldn't be a surprise to me. Anything free is better than nothing, but we'll have to wait for more details. Maybe, those details will be revealed at Comic-Con next month.

Shelltoon 06-13-2008 01:26 AM

If the business model is like any of those wacky, fun-loving online games like Gunbound, Albatross 18, or Shot Online, chances are some of the better items will require real money to buy.

Subzeroace 06-13-2008 04:27 PM

I like how his examples of character interaction all include Mandy =3 Her hanging out with Bloo is something I really want to see =D

If the game ends up being good I'll probably pay up for whatever extras they have in store. Right now I'm playing DOMO but I could probably fit another MMO into my gaming time =3

WestBunny:3 07-08-2008 06:00 AM

Sorry, can I make a question? I think I've seen EVERY cartoon network character in anime style in deviantart, and seriously, isn't numbuh 5's fanart exactly like in that screenshot a few pages ago?:terrconf:

Nice. :yeah:

I know where I'm stationing (or whatever that word is) myself when fighting fusions! :D

And if Wilt ever makes it in the game...

THIS is how he'd probably look. =P

LOL! Yes, that looks just how I picture him looking, too. 8D Hmm, I wonder if Wilt will be in the game, too? I bet he'd look cool, I wish we could see now.

By the way, the scheduled time for the game to go live now is "Fall 2008". Wouldn't surprise me if it's later postponed to "Christmas 2008" eventually. ::)

One Radical Dude 07-09-2008 07:54 PM

It was originally scheduled to be released this summer, but they pushed it back to this fall. Yay. :P

kageri 07-10-2008 09:46 PM

I just went to the site and saw the Eds. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight. Why of all characters must those three be the ones they took the original designs into account with? Some characters just were not made for animu. I can't imagine the voices of 85% of the characters coming from those bodies.

The art itself is actually really good, sorta Gaia Online-ish. But... Mandark. His eyebrows are so... tweezed! *can't get over it*

But we've already discussed the art -- I am curious, but I don't know if I want to eat up more space on my computer or, y'know, pay money. Not to mention whenever I've played MMORPGs before they just didn't keep me interested, and I doubt this'll be different.

Updated on Cartoon Network: Fusion Fall

if you go to www.fusionfall.com and look in the news section, you'll see links to news reports about a big announcement Cartoon recently made at comic-con. The basic idea of the news reports is that Fusionfall will be completely browser based, no download or CD needed.

Fusionfall will use a new online gaming engine, that allows to load relatively quickly, even in a web browser. Also, the game is reported to be in 3D and have sixty explorable areas.

And now it's postponed to January '09. Am I surprised? Not in the least. :sadbendy: It will be a whole year of postponing before long though. This is ridiculous. ::)

Cassini90125 09-20-2008 07:43 PM

There might be a bright side to it. Perhaps they're delaying to refine the game and remove bugs and glitches, something they should have done with BFAHP.

One wonders if they'll give it a new name, given that the current name no longer fits. :P

Ah video game titles don't really have to be that specific, after all, there are over thirteen (and counting) "Final" Fantasy games on the market. :P

Cassini90125 09-20-2008 07:54 PM

Good point.

The ideal name for it would be "Cartoon Network's 'Don't register at Never Forgotten just to bother the staff there with pointless questions about this game' Game" but alas, I don't see that happening. :bloocross:

Sparky 09-20-2008 09:54 PM

And yet people are as welcome as ever to believe that I am the sole creator, coder, programmer, and maintainer of the game. ;)

Cassini90125 09-20-2008 10:04 PM

Wouldn't it be cool if the new game included some form of secret co- nevermind.

antgirl1 09-21-2008 02:12 AM

What? Postphoning? AGAIN?? Seriously!

I'm starting to think they'll NEVER release it. But keep postphoning everytime the deadline comes around.

At January..."Postphoned to Summer 2009"

At Summer..."Postphoned to Winter 2009"

At Winter..."Postphoned to Spring 2010"

And It'll just keeping doing that in an endless cycle. It's like they're just saying "Hey, let's pretend to make a fun online game, show all the neat stuff we'll "put" into it, add a lot of hype to it, and "allow" beta testing! It'll be fun! No one will get allowed in, all of it would be fake, everything! It's genious!" ::)

On a lighter note...looking at the new trailer, I caught THIS:

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i...l1/FOSTERS.png

Eduardo. Frankie.

But ignore Eddy. He's always gettin' in the way...

Eddy...
Looks like an ugly munchkin. :/
Seriously, some cartoons were not made to be redrawn the way this game does it.

antgirl1 09-21-2008 11:19 AM

Eh, to be honest, once I got used to the style, it didn't look THAT bad...even though it appears now that Frankie's skirt looks more like those anime mini skirts...D=

fosters home fan 09-21-2008 12:00 PM

LULZ, you're right.

Bah, I'm not fond of the "action" style of this game. If it's taking them this long to produce, you might start to wonder: Is the game worth the long wait?

. . . I want to play this game and all... But that would be genius! Oh the pain and sorrow to the children... Isn't that was big entertainment corporations are all about?

So I guess Jhonen Vasques run CN Interactive now? Sounds like something he'd do.

Sparky 11-11-2008 02:44 PM

Anyone else who has an account will also know this...this weekend is apparently some kind of test run for people who are registered. In other words, we get to beta their game for them for free, lol. Anyways just fyi. I don't know if they're accepting registrations now but if so and you want to play this weekend, sign up.

antgirl1 11-14-2008 10:13 PM

W00t! I'm so excited! I'm gonna finally see gameplay from my own place....for at least two days. =P

One Radical Dude 11-15-2008 12:08 AM

I've played it for over an hour. It's nice. It really has come a long way, since I first saw Fusion Fall back in 2007. For those that are registered, give it a try. I have two Nanos and my main character is at Lv. 2.

antgirl1 11-15-2008 10:04 AM

I love how the characters sound....they sound like themselves and not screwed up by lame voice-artists! :D

Bloo2daMacs 11-15-2008 11:21 AM

Okay, this REALLY sucks. I can't play, because the checkbox next to "I agree to the terms and conditions" isn't showing up, and thusly, I cannot click it. >:[

EDIT: Nevermind, I got it to work, finally... I'm excited! :D

EDIT2: What a let down. I didn't get to play. The game wouldn't load past this ONE part, so I quit... :(

antgirl1 11-15-2008 12:04 PM

Aww, I'm sorry it didn't work for you, B2DM...Thus far I've only seen Eduardo in terms of Foster's characters in-game...So here's what he said:

BTW...Guess who I finally found:

http://i260.photobucket.com/albums/i.../bg_thanks.jpg

Apparently Wilt was the Waldo for "Where's Waldo" 8D

Sparky 11-15-2008 03:34 PM

We've been out all day so I haven't been able to play yet, but I want to...what kind of controls do you use, I don't remember from the Con demo? I may want to play it on my desktop rather than the laptop.

Sparky 11-15-2008 05:31 PM

Until I get my name approved (which is "Sparky Galatea" btw) I am "Player 103533". (And yeah I'm on right now.) I'm a chick with a blue ponytail in blue jeans and blue hoodie.

Sparky 11-15-2008 06:53 PM

OMG, does *anybody* understand how to get onto the treehouse?? I cannot for the life of me figure it out. I'm guessing it has something to do with those bouncy things but I dunno what.

Btw I figured out how to climb that building in the center of town with the big glowy characters. I stood in Bloo. 8D

edit: nm I got up there.

Lynnie 11-15-2008 07:04 PM

Oh yeah, this is the weekend where everyone can play the beta for free, huh? Looks like you guys are enjoying it so far. And I still think it's fun seeing the game's version of CN's characters. I love Mandy in the pic Ant shared, she actually doesn't look near as emo as the cartoon, hehe. :P I don't recall seeing her before.

antgirl1 11-15-2008 08:07 PM

The thing was that I've seen either in art or in game Bloo, Mac, Eduardo, Coco, and Frankie. Guess who was missing from the bunch? ONLY NOW...do we know.

I say my goodbyes to everyone gathered around me before I go into the past....8D

All the way to the top of the treehouse? I'm still trying to figure out how to get up there that high.

Sparky 11-16-2008 05:19 AM

There are some round whitish things on the ground around the edge of the pit the treehouse floats over. You have to jump on one to launch into the air then push towards the treehouse to "fly" to it.

edit: btw I absolutely cannot get into the game this morning. :( That is disappointing as I was under the impression that they were up for the entire weekend.

antgirl1 11-16-2008 11:19 AM

That sucks....I'm trying to get on now...
