Terrence is Cool

Terrence is there when u need a little "brotherly love"..... he's a very funny character who's not afraid 2 speak his mind *silence*(lol!) Im serious about him being funny and he might be mean, but ya still luv 'em! My favorite episode w/ him is Seeing Red ;D

Holy Haberdashery Imaginary Man! :)

Ub3rD4n 04-28-2007 01:10 AM

Wow, I'm surprised noone else has posted much on Terrence's strong points.

For one, he created Red. In much the same way that Mac made Bloo to represent the repressed selfichness and irrationality inside him (A popular theory I subscribe to), I think Terrence made Red to represent the feminine side Terrence is ashamed of (I'm trying to watch my stories-uhhhhh....I gotta go hit something!").

Also, I never saw the pilot 'till after getting hooked on Fosters, so before I did, I thought he was just a dumb jerk, but in the pilot, one instance intrigued me. It was when Mac's awesome plan was being played out to destroy the Extremeasaur, and Duchess's and Terrence's plan was falling down around their ears. Duchess says "Don't just stand there, do something!", to which Terrence replies "Shut up! I'm watching this!". This shows, to me, that he's more interested in seeing cool stuff than being a jerk to Mac, so there's hope for him.

I kinda (futilely) hope that Terrence renounces his evil ways and joins the group in the same way as Goo. His stupidity and differing tastes from the Fosters Five would still make him generate enough plot to stop him being superfluous in this situation. I just think It's be cool, probably 'cause Terrence's tastes in cool stuff and his dislike of some of the more childish stuff makes him more relatable to me.

After all, Extremasaur fighting circut? Awesome! If you could work around the cruelty expressed there.

Aly23 05-01-2007 10:48 AM

I have never really thought of Terrence before. I do think he is hilarious though. Yes he's mean to Mac and Bloo but its his stupidness that makes him loveable.

Another Bump! :D (sorry, is that ok?)

Coincidently, not long ago there was a post about an email recieved from a "Frankie Foster", which sadly was no more than just spam. Well, yesterday (or, two days ago, now), I checked my mail, and look what I found-

http://i198.photobucket.com/albums/a...n/untitled.jpg

I know his name isn't spelt right, but combined with that last name, well, it just makes me wonder... Spammers are somehow taking note of what we type in search enguines, you think? I still thought it was kind of funny.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least; prior to becoming a Foster's fan, I got two spam emails from someone calling herself Daphne Blake. 8D

Medikor 08-08-2007 10:04 AM

Terrance isn't my favorite character by any means but I do like him when he shows up. I think they did it right by not having him in in the show too much because, unless they can think up some new twists for him, he'd get kind of old pretty quickly.

I keep getting e-mails with my boss's name attached that are trying to sell me viagra, "cheap new watches," or home insurance.

Sparky 09-16-2007 06:06 PM

Okay you guys, am I the only one wondering if there may actually be some sort of explaination that will come up in a later ep explaining Terrence's total absence thus far from Season 5? Wasn't Infernal Slumber his last ep? I don't think he's even been mentioned aside from when Mac was wanting to buy his Rocket Wars figures back in The Buck Swaps Here (and that wasn't a reference to anything recent anyways), but correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe Terrence has actually been so occupied with something that he either hasn't been interacting with Mac (so there's simply no reason to show him in an episode), or he actually hasn't been home. Maybe he went to stay with his dad or something. If so, is Mac's turn to go visit his dad coming up? If so, what will happen to Bloo? I guess they wouldn't actually do anything like that in the show unless it were another movie, and its too soon for there to be another movie...Well I was just thinking, and wondering where the hell my favorite character has gone to. I thought it may have actually been intentional on the part of the writers for him to be absent for so long. Or maybe that's just what I'm hoping. :P

The Huntsman 09-16-2007 06:12 PM

I wish I knew. The Foster’s Crew have proven to have a lot of talent when it comes to making these episodes, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they have something involving Terrence up their sleeves. I’ve missed a lot of episodes, as I’ve said frequently, but I liked Terrence and I’m hoping your theories are correct. At the very least, here’s hoping that Terrence makes a return to the series before too much longer.

Zeitgheist 09-16-2007 07:56 PM

Mac is my favorite character, but Terrence isn't far behind :D

I love his clothes and his crooked teeth... but I don't know if I like how he falls into the stereotypic mean older brother cathegory. But then again, I wouldn't have him any other way

I laughed so hard when he just killed that pizza slice. I think it's the most brutal and cruel thing I've ever seen in a cartoon. But that scream it produces, it just makes it so hilarious XD

Sparky 09-16-2007 08:08 PM

It was the moment that made me a fan. :bendy:

CartoonNetworkFan 03-24-2008 11:36 PM

I think i'm the only one who likes him not. He is just a lilly-lilly gutless doorbag, like Eddy would say! :bendy:

Mac-a-lacka 04-29-2008 11:05 PM

I noticed that Terrence wasn't in season 5 at all nor season 6 so far:terrence:

Yeah, a lot of us are a bit upset about that. Hopefully its something that they'll remedy before the series is up. IMO, Terrence has been one of the most consistently funny characters that Foster's has had to offer. I think he deserves better than just to fizzle out.

Terrence isn't my biggest favorite.:terrence::P
But, I agree with you.

Cassini90125 04-30-2008 11:53 AM

I have no doubt he'll be back before the final credits roll. Not that CN will show us the final credits until maybe a week later, but he'll be back.

iluvBlooQKazoo 10-14-2008 11:24 AM

Why is Terrence a jerk

I don't know if anyone's done this one yet or not because I'm still getting use to this site, but I was woundering why Terrence is a jerk. I mean he probley wasn't always like this, right? Oooo maybe it had something to do with his father. What do y'all think? :)

Cassini90125 10-14-2008 11:34 AM

I merged your thread with this one because we already have a thread about Terrence, Nothing personal, mind you. ;)

As I recall there's been a lot of speculation about that question on the old Forum but no definitive answer. It could have something to do with his absent father and his parent's divorce, or he might just be a jerk. I doubt we'll get much more information from the show but you never know.

iluvBlooQKazoo 10-14-2008 11:47 AM

Yeah I kinda figured there might've been one about Terrence I just wasn't sure. I'm still getting used to things around here.

taranchula 10-14-2008 04:34 PM

IMHO I've always been a subscriber to the theory that there isn't some kind of deep rooted reason as to why Terrence acts the way he does.

The kind of antagonistic behavior on display on the show is just a common thing that often occurs amongst older and younger siblings, regardless of the situation at home. (Of course being a Cartoon and all, what happens on Foster's is ramped up greatly for full comedic/dramatic effect.)

Sibling rivalry is just as common in a two parent household as it is in a single parent household. (I am sure many people, will be able to back up that assertion.)

iluvBlooQKazoo 10-15-2008 11:42 AM

Yeah there must be a lot of logical reasons as to why Terrence is a bitter and jerky brother, but we may never know until Craig (not sure if I spelled his name right) tell us til then all we can do is guess. You're right about sibling rivaltys 'cause thats the main things almost all siblings do, I say almost because me and my younger brother are as close as anything. :cheese: But my other little brother hates me and everyone else I don't know why.

WestBunny:3 10-25-2008 12:49 PM

I just love those photos of Mac and Terrence in Infernal Slumber! Terrence seems to have changed since then...:terrconf:

iluvBlooQKazoo 10-26-2008 01:56 PM

So do I, I think both Terrence and Mac were so very adorable when they were younger.

alvarez 12-26-2008 09:03 AM

I think Terrence has improved a bit since the pilot. He's kind of, still a bully and a jerk but not so bad. Like, in "Eddie Monster" he asked Mac what was up with him and spoke with him quite civilly, and he hasn't really bullied him THAT much in other episodes, so maybe him and Mac got better with each other once Bloo left. People say Terrence is one of the reasons Mac created Bloo, but maybe Bloo was one of the reasons Terrence became a jerk. Jealousy and all.

Personally, I wish there were some episodes were Terrence and Mac would get on, but that's just cos I love 'em both!

Lynnie 01-16-2009 06:02 PM

I saw this on eBay today. Not very often we see something with just Terrence on it, I thought it was pretty cool.

They did however misspell his name. :P

Sparky 01-16-2009 06:35 PM

Yeah I've seen that, but it's hardly official merchandise. :P

I need to make myself a Terrence t-shirt or something. At least that doll I've been saying I'd make for years now.

Cassini90125 01-16-2009 07:10 PM

Looks like Terrence is the only Foster's character the seller has. No sign of Bloo or Cheese anywhere. Nice change of pace.

Nyo 01-18-2009 07:10 AM

It really does suck that you don't see Terrence a whole lot these days - I wonder why! He's really funny and has potential for a decent backstory :)

WestBunny:3 01-19-2009 01:37 PM

I agree, he has still lots of potential as a character, though now it seems difficult to see some Terrence since the series is complete and there are only few episodes that haven't been released. But I'm still waiting for Mrs. Mother of Mac to make some cameo, since the truth has to be discovered some day, right? ;)

Fanfiction is always there, I guess. Go Terrence!

TerrenceLover 04-06-2010 08:49 AM

I really don't know why many people hates this boy. I personally think he's the best human character in the show.
And he's really funny...I love the scene where he imagine the imaginary pizza and he eat it! :blooxd: 8D

Cell_Phone_guy 04-11-2010 10:37 AM

I wonder if Terrence had anything to do with Cheese being in Mac's bed at the beginning of Mac Daddy. I wonder if the night before, Terrence saw Cheese wandering outside the apartment and thought the idea of Mac having a second IF would destroy his relationship with Bloo so he brought Cheese inside and placed him in Mac's bed while Mac was asleep.

Or is Terrence that smart?

Sparky 04-11-2010 01:41 PM

I don't think he's that smart, however he may have been the one to leave the door open long enough for Cheese to walk in.

Another Castle 04-12-2010 10:50 PM

Interesting theory, maybe he just put Cheese in there for a laugh.

I can imagine he would get irritated by him after a while tho.

carlito_cool 08-18-2010 07:14 PM

I had used to like Terrnece but in my mind, he's not cool. :terrence:

KazooBloo 11-21-2016 08:42 PM

Terrence is a jerk. :(
