Like an OMG!Fosters RP where there are the IC and OOC versions of characters. (OMG!RPs are so much fun.)

I haven't got much of a "myself." And I haven't got any imagination. Just look at my posts in the Express You're Insanity and Imaginary Party thread. (Yeah, I know I spelled "You're" wrong, but that's how it's spelled in the thread's title.) And besides, if I was Wilt...he couldn't get more out-of-character-ee-ish.

Uhhhh how exactly would this work?

I'm semi curious but not really sure on how we'd go about doing this.

Scribble 09-16-2006 06:31 AM

I'd love to do it and I really do like roleplaying but I'm one of those people who gets really really worried that I'm not playing a character properly and I wouldn't want to upset anyone if something like that did happen.^^; Besides, I'm not really that great as a roleplayer compared to most people.

From the looks of things, Flashchat would be the best way to handle this game. (I don't have a lot of experience in role playing, but it makes sense that real time chat would be the best medium for something like this.) In fact if there is enough interest in the project, we might just set up a permanent chat room exclusively for role playing.

I assume you mean FlashChat, and yes, I can set up non-expiring rooms if needed or wanted. I can also make the permanent rooms locked if that's necessary. And then, if needed or wanted, we can have a section of the forum here just for discussing the rp. Similarly, if people want to rp on the *forum* rather than in the chatroom, we can do that as well! I myself don't probably have the time for real-time chat but may be able to participate in a forum-based rp. I used to be an rp wiz on both types of rps, and I even have a set of rules written up somewhere (don't groan, rules are good things for rp games).

As with either type of rp, remember that there can be multiple games going on simultaneously if there are enough interested people; that way there isn't only *one* person who can be Bloo, *one* person who can be Wilt, etc.

I'd love to RP. If this thing get started I would soooo join in. But I myself sometimes get worried if i'm outta character. Especially if its based on someone and not one you thought up. Anyway this sounds great. :bloogrin

Whoa, didn't expect such feedback for one query from a lonesome RPer.

I've done various kinds of online role play.

Forum
There's the kind where you have threads on forums, and you role play via posts to that forum. You are normally just one character there.

Live Journal
This is similiar to the forum, but here you actually can get a journal for said character (like I have for Eduardo here). You can either make posts, or start role play threads in your journal or the community journal. From there different people can reply back to move the story forward.

AIM/AOL/MSN/YIM
This is the one I have most experience with. Just two people playing back and forth, and we can both take multiple character's. In reference to my time with my friend, sometimes she would be Frankie, or I would. I played Ringo Rango and our fan-char Spud while she played Eurotrish and her fan-char Grey. The only thing that stayed true was that I was Eduardo and she was Wilt.
And those AOL sessions ammounted to over 800 pages of roleplay fodder in word. That's right.

So there are multiple ways to go about this, but which one would sit easier?
