It amuses me that people are ripping on the animation style, yet I find it one of the most interesting styles out there. They can practically do anything with the characters, and that's what is so out landish and funny about it, in my opinion.

And the thought process that went into each and every character in the show, giving them their own quirks and ways of their own wass ome great design work. I even have two friends who are on the animation team in Canada, and man. Jealous can't begin to describe it. In fact I used to draw EEE fanart long before I became a Fosters fan.

In fact the first time I ever saw Fosters was when a friend of mine said Ed, Edd 'n Eddy had cameos in 'Eddie Monster'. So you can thank EEE for introducing me to Fosters, because of that short clip, that got me interested in this whole Foster home for Imaginaries in the first place.

Funny these guys are mentioned, since I've just now began doodling the Eds again, and it's pretty fun.

I love the animation style, Squiggle Vision is one of the funniest styles there is. I do respect that art style.

EEE and PPG started their runs within a few months of one another, and between my friends everyone had sided with either one or the other, liking one and disliking the other, it seemed. I was the only one who preferred EEE. I was excluded from many a conversation...quite possibly this is one of the reasons I've never turned on to PPG, because of the way the show made me an outsider with my own friends. Bad memories. :p It might also be why I drifted away from EEE early on.

So I'm not a fan anymore, but I really liked the show once upon a time. I am siding with people who like the animation style, I like it too.

Sugar! Spice! And Everything Nice!

Sparky: I know that it can be hard to overcome a mental stigma against something, but given that you're a cartoon fan generally and especially given that you're a Foster's fan, I would really urge you in the strongest possible terms to give The Powerpuff Girls a proper chance; it is without question my favourite cartoon show, and one of the sharpest, most stylish, cutest, and funniest shows there is. I don't know how much of a fan you are of Genndy Tartakovsky (Dexter's Lab, Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars), but he was also a key player in the early days of PPG, and what you get is a perfect blend of his and Craig McCracken's sensibilites, with Tartakovsky's kinetic, hard-hitting visuals and rapid-fire pacing combining brilliantly with Craig's knack for lovable, imagninative character design and hilarious character-based comedy. All of the qualities I love about Foster's - imagination, wit, offbeat idiosyncracy - are abundant in PPG, which is unsurprising given how many of the key creative team they share, even beyond Craig; there's writing from Amy Keating Rogers and Lauren Faust, a fantastically diverse score from Jim Venable, and outstanding central performances from the likes of Tara Strong, Tom Kane and Tom Kenny (who in my opinion puts in his best work here, and THAT's saying something). Most of all, it's just wonderfully universal entertainment which takes its premise, themes and characters and presents them with such warmth, wit and style and I feel that literally anyone could enjoy it; not bad for a show about three five-year-old girls.

As I recall, the Season One DVD set is due out this June, and I wouldn't hesistate in recommending everybody here to buy it; it really is worthy of the highest possible endorsement. :)

(Err, OK, you can go back to the actual topic now. Sorry. :P)
