Maybe it's just light styrofoam or something similar. It can't be very comfortable, though.

I wouldn't say heavy, but definitely very hot, especially during the very warm months. :P Frequent water breaks.

I've heard of people making fursuits/mascot costumes with a little fan in the head that keeps it ventilated. I'd want that if I had to wear that costume, but even if it wasn't feasible I'd still wear it just because it would be cool.

I used to do the costumed mascot thing. We didn't have fans, but we would bring bottles of water and snacks into the heads with us. And the stuff that we did in those costumes when no one was looking would scar any child for life. Something about the combination of a 40 pound costume, 100 degree heat and minimum wage just makes people crazy. :scaryberry:

Nowadays, thanks to modern technology, they wear cooling suits with ice water inside tubes to cool them off. It still smells a tad gamey inside, so they usually put something like Odor Eaters powder or air freshener as they dry.
