I used it once myself, in that short bit I wrote about Frankie, Madame Foster, and Mr. Herriman playing Scrabble. It's one of those lines that once you hear it you never forget it.

I went to my local Walgreens earlier today, as I do almost everyday. As you might expect at this time of year, they have an isle chock-full of Valentine's Day goodies. Seems that all of it reminds me of Frankie in some way. I look at a box of chocolates and I think of her going crazy over Madame Foster's cookies in Cookie Dough. All the red packaging reminds me of the color of her hair, of course. Then there's the crystal; every piece of sculpted or spun glass, when it catches the light at the right angle, makes me think of the sparkle in her smile and her eyes. Every verse on every card seems like it's something I'd want to say to her. And all the plushies with their arms outstretched like they want to be held, they remind me of how much I'd like to hold her, to share a few moments of the warmth I feel for her. But even without all the merchandise around, Valentine's Day still makes me think about Frankie more than usual, because it's a day about love, pure and simple, uncluttered by the nonsense that permeates the other holidays, a wonderful day when you can look in the eyes of that special person you know and say, "Today is all about you and nothing but you, and you are so worth it." So for me, at least, Valentine Day is all about Frankie, and no one but Frankie. And she is so worth it. :-*

Truth be told, Valentine's day has never been a big holiday of mine. Most likely due to the fact that as far back as I can remember, I have never had anyone that I could truly share valentine's day with. When it comes around I don't really feel too sad about it since I've gotten used to it for such a long time.

Maybe someday when I do find a woman I can love and share things, valentine's day can share a deeper meaning as I really would like to. As weird as it sounds, I look forward to the day that I have someone I can blows wads of cash on to buy chocolates, cheesy love cards, and flowers for someone. That's a situation I still to this day look forward to.

I personally have to commend you Cass for housing such a strong love for Frankie that you can associate so much with her. I do the same with Sailor Jupiter but not through Valentine's day. Its nice to see someone being so passionate towards something and finding that passion in the simplest things.

Probably the most comforting I think about with Frankie and valentine's day is that you don't have to worry about buying the wrong kind of flowers or doing anything super extravagant for her. Frankie is the kind of person that would appreciate the simplest of gestures with great affection and a person who can do that truly is worth spending money AND time on.

I just realized that DeviantART has no respect for Frankie whatsoever.

Dear lord.

THANK YOU.

It's nice to see I'm not the only one who recognizes that fact. :frankiemad:

Forgive my ignorance but when did this happen? I always found some pretty decent (and quite attractive) pictures of Frankie on Deviantart.

So I have to ask, what kind of disrespectful art drawings are you guys referring to?

Cassini90125 02-05-2008 06:51 PM

It's perhaps best if I don't go into that. :frankiemad: But yeah, there is some good Frankie art on DA; I made my avatar from one such picture, by an artist named Jagg17 as I recall. The full-size picture prints very well; an 8.5x11 copy of it is framed and sitting on a display table in my living room.

Why is there like nude photos of her or something? i never saw anything direspectful in there either about her.

That and worse, and let's drop this topic and move on now, okay? :frankiemad:

I think everyone is referring to this...

Which as they said is the very sad truth, but then again this sort of thing is nothing new as many a cartoon lady has been objectified in such a manner, over and over again.

For what reason? I don't know and quite frankly I don't want to know or even care. I'll just ignore it and concentrate on supporting those artists who bring actual creativity to the table (IE Everyone on this very forum) rather then supporting those who rely on pure shock value in order to get a few hits or pageviews.
