I've done telemarketing.:'(
I was sacked after 4 days.:) |
There's a reason for the national "Do Not Call" list, y'know. Did I ever tel you about the "fun" I had with MCI several years ago? Daily harrassment, sometimes twice per day, for months, all because at the time I didn't know that I had to use the exact phrase "Please remove my name and number from your call list" to get any results. The word "No" was not enough, nor did a variety of unprintable responses get through their heads. Shortly thereafter the national list went into effect, thank the stars. I will never become an MCI customer, not after the hell those :censored: put me through, and I have no sympathy for telemarketers or anyone else who's job is to be intrusive and to harrass and annoy people in their own homes, period. I have the right to be left alone. :frankiemad:

Eh, I don't think that there's any need to be quite so aggressive about it - all I did was suggest that the people on the other end of the line probably aren't having such a fun time of it either. Which, to me, does not seem too outrageous a thing to say.

It wasn't directed at you, sorry. Unfortunately after the hell those people put me through it's difficult to talk about them without getting fired up.

When it's automated I just hang up. 8D

We never get that stuff over here.

The automated ones that you can leave a message on are fun:
"Hey, thanks for calling but I don't live here, I'm a burglar." "I dunno, I'm only three-and-a-half years old." "Moo? Moo moo moo, moo moo, moo moo moo." "Aagh! Help me, please! He's got a gu-" (click) ":censored:" You get the idea. Fun with live telemarketers, too. :bendy: |
