I just completed viewing the DVD "Prince Caspian" and a marvelous "Miss Marple "DVD.

I enjoy Joan Hickson's portrayal of Miss Marple very much. I have read most of the novels written by Agatha Christie.

Transporter 3

A lot better then I expected it to be. While strictly action orientated, this movie actually had a lot more structured plot in terms of character development. There was much more emotion and personal connection between Frank Martin (The Transporter) and the other characters in the film.

They also toned down the utterly absurd over the top, implausible action stunts from the crappy 2nd movie and kept it down to like....only 2 implausible action stunts. Its pretty good considering this series actually. I loved the musical score and the fight scenes were spectacular as always, even grittier then before.

I loved especially the fight with "The Big One". Very fun movie and a big improvement over the second movie, though I still feel the first film easily tops all 3 as the best one in terms of characters, action scenes, love interest, villain, and everything else.....though I do admit Transporter 2 had a pretty bad ass fight scene with a fire hose.

Hancock

Well, this is very much your typical, middle of the road Will Smith action blockbuster, really. Not exactly the amusing variation upon the superhero theme which the trailers had hinted that it might be, it starts out briskly enough but soon gets bogged down with its attempts at more serious, emotionally-driven drama, which never gets nearly as much development as it requires. The special effects are serviceable, and the references to Youtube straddle the line between being funny and being annoying. If you're in the right mood, then I suspect it'll pass the time, but I wouldn't say that it has a great deal else going for it.

Wow! I'm afraid I've never read even one Agatha Christie novel but I used to love those Joan Hickson shows. She was such a gentle, well-mannered old lady and she always out-smarted everybody. I always thought she's what Dolly, the never-seen sister of Godfrey from Dad's Army, would be like. If by any chance you've ever seen that show.

Lawrence of Arabia

Good lord this movie was FREAKING LOOOOOOOONG! My word, i have never seen a movie this long before, longest stuff I have ever seen are the LOTR movies, Titanic and the King Kong remake and they didn't feel half as long as this movie. My friend brought this movie over and glorifies this movie as like the Holy grail of movies or something.

I don't know, me personally i really did enjoy the film and it was extremely well made and acted and scripted but I just don't hold this film in the same high regarded opinion as my friend. I think most of these critic glorified films are not worth the buzz they build it upon and while this is great, there are films I think are infinitely more amazing that most critics would regard as garbage or juvenile.

For its age and the subject of something I REALLY don't care to see in movies: war and politics, this movie really held up well and I was quite pleased with it despite its length.

Hidalgo

An excellent movie with a mix of action and horses.

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Is it a movie or just a show? Eh, I see it more like a movie. Anyway, I never got to see it last year, and I felt so incomplete. But I saw it this year! I've always loved it. Now I wish I could see all the other shows and movies that make my holiday season feel more complete.

Punisher: War Zone

Nothing like the first in so many ways. It was a very fun and essentially, mindless movie with ridiculously LARGE amounts of gore, seriously. There are heads exploding left and right, throats sliced open and people being blasted into human swiss cheese. The villains looked cool but over acted in a REALLY bad way.

I usually love over acting but here it was just silly and hokey. It was too much like a living comic book, complete with absurdities and strange "BOOM" "BAM" "BIFF" kind of moments. I miss Thomas Jane and the seriousness the first movie held, but action wise this movie is tops, the gun shooting/blasting people to bits was fun as Hell.

Overall this movie was WAY too cartoony for a serious movie like the first Punisher and this will not help anyone's interest in reliving the franchise anytime soon. Not bad, but certainly not great.
