If Frankie considered you a friend, it wouldn't be because of some dumb hidden motive, but because she genuinely LIKES you. She's the type that would tell you upfront if a relationship with her couldn't work, not because she wants to hurt you or break your heart, but because she's a very honest person who isn't afraid to speak out when anything makes her uncomfortable. And she HATES jerks.
Frankie is honest, genuine and true... unlike those attractive girls who consider nice guys to be "just friends", only so they have a guaranteed shoulder to cry on when they're dumped and/or abused by their jerk boyfriends. |

I could really see the lucky guy who Frankie will get someday to actually start out as "just her friend". Just because she dosent feel that a relationship would work dosent mean that she's putting salt in the soil-a relationship can sprout from the most obscure places and situations.
I will admit that I, a grown man, find Frankie very attractive physicaly, but it's her personality that I simply adore. I actually prefer cute and pretty over hot and sexy, myself. And Frankie is just realistic in her appearance and personality. That may be why I think she is one of the most enduring characters to be made in ages. Frankies personality actually made her look pleasing to me. It's odd but I never gave her a second glace befor I started to watch the show. But as I started to know her, I found her irrisitable. I would say that Frankie is exactly what I'm looking for in a woman but then I'd be setting my standards WAY too high.8D Oh and to those of us that feel that she wouldant want to be any more than just you're friend; They say that the best thing you can do is marry you're best friend.;) |
that makes alot of sense. i have to say that i would probably have to agree with most, if not all, of that. the more you watch something, you notice something (in this case, frankie) that you never thought important or worth the time. its nice to see an episode like "Frankie My Dear" because it will tell alot about the person in particular(this case, frankie.) I personally didnt really get into frankie until a few days after i saw the episode, mostly as i reflected upon what i had watched.
Also, seeing someone that puts up with as much as frankie does, and to still have enough heart for everyone around, it shows what kind of person she is. not many other people from fosters(wilt and maybe mac, but thats it) are able to constantly be like that. it is a good trait to keep. BTW, that weird drawing of frankie in the head of douglas and adam in GWH, well it made me feel like barfing to be honest. thats all i have to say, case closed. |

Yeah, bridging the gap between "good friends" and more than that is hard and, if you get shot down, VERY awkward and devastating. A lot of kids in my school are so chauvinistic, it doesn't phase them at all to get shot down. Nice guys cry. Although, it would be neat to even be shot down by Frankie. I know a cute bolnde who is SO INCREDIBLY NICE that i actually equate her to Frankie. She's pretty, too. But, as with Frankie, so it would seem, all the guys are "good friends" with her. Even the normally chauvinistic ones are pretty stumped by her. Competition over beauty is natural, though, just like war or disease. Can't change it without being a free-love hippy, and that NEVER lasts. C'est la vie.

I dunno about the nerdvision scene. I think it was just showing how hopelessly in love with Frankie some people are in the show. Notice she was still wearing the same outfit, it wasn't trashy, just...stretched out a bit.
BTW: mad kudos to the guy who posted the "i'm punk rock..." soundbyte. I put that in my Power Rock playlist between the Beatles' "Helter Skelter" and Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song". Hillarious. |
I don't think it's "trashy" but instead "all glammed up". I confess that it becomes more pleasing to my eye the more I look at it. The animation is excellent, and I especially love the hair as well as the butterflies flying around her.
But I still think the original is the best. Frankie has such a sincere warmth and humanity to her that wonderfully enhances her scorching hotness and fiery temper, which is(intentionally) removed in the nerds' specialized vision of her. |
As usual, Vox, I have to agree with you. The original Frankie we all know is the best of all.:D
|
I really wasn't impressed with the "hawt Frankie," but I was afraid to say anything about for fear of getting flamed! But I love Frankie for the way she looks now. Her endearing personality matches the way she looks now. That is why I love her so much.

I honestly just hated that brief image of Frankie from the nerds point of view, I seriously didn't find it flattering or any way attractive. Frankie is hot just the way she is and I think her look is just fine.
With or without those nice dresses she had on in "Frankie my dear". Although of course, I wouldn't be one to complain if they brought those outfits back for whatever reason either ;D. |

And I know I've said this before, but in addition to having a great personality she also has a great design. So colorful. |
She does have a nice colour pallate around her. Green, purple, red, white... hah. Someone pointed this out somewhere:
Red hair = Wilt Green jacket = Coco Purple skirt = Eduardo Blue shoes = Bloo I know that's not really the case, but it makes me smile either way. Plus she 'n Madame Foster share the same colored clothes. It's a sweet little thing you don't really notice that quickly. |
Huh, I never made that connection before. One wonders what the orange socks represent. :)
|
No clue on that one, never really looked at it that way before.
I gotta say my fav. part of Frankie's attire is the purple skirt. I think it looks really good on her whether she has the green sweater or not. I also loved seeing that cartoony green dress she had on for the photo shoot. Bows in the hair always look cute on toon fems if you ask me. |

That is an interesting observation, and that made me smile thinking about it. I still think she looks so cute with that Powerpuff Girls T-shirt! |
I definitely like the purple skirt; the length is just right, and I don't think any other color would work as well. The whole outfit works well together; casual and functional, but still quite attractive.

I loved her dresses in FMD and TBP. I bet Frankie is a favorite character for the animators to work with. She probobly has the largest variety of outfits and colours to play with so I'm sure that she's a breath of fresh air.
|
I'd enjoy seeing her in some different outfits now and then. Not all the time, of course; her regular outfit is part of the character, and she doesn't strike me as a fashion collector. But something new and different would be a treat occasionally, be it another casual outfit or something for a formal evening.

I actually like her without the sweater as well, seeing her in that the whole episode of "Big Cheese" really made me appreciate what a gorgeous figure she has for whatever it is she's wearing. |

Aww...Man, you guys are awesome. I respect all of you immensely for how you really care for Frankie, and not just for what she looks like. I've read on this thread REPEATEDLY how deeply you think of her(ha, it's taken me a long time...This thread is huge!), and I think it's incredibly sweet.
Meh, even the nice guys I know in my area have girlfriends who are "hott" when it comes to "What's your girlfriend like?". Well, I don't really know about all of them...I don't know the quiet guys because when it comes to guys there is NO WAY I can talk to them by my own choosing(Though it's much easier over the internet. ;)). I'm much too shy. The few guys I know are the ones who actually talk to me. I wish you all the best of luck in finding the right women, if that's your calling. I envy whomever snaps you great guys up. |
Hah! Neato! Best compliment i've gotten all.....year.

oh well, back on topic, seeing frankie constantly giving while taking all the stuff she has to go through, its kinda weird, thinking that i havent seen anyone like that in the real world in 2 million years. |

Plus, on top of everything else...Well, let's just say that her family isn't the greatest. We all prefer to spend time with Dad's side of the family, and even they have drama. My Mom puts up with a lot of stuff, and still manages to love us kids to death...Even though we're crazy teenage girls. |

Wow, I'm very flatterd with you're complament, Insanefan. Yes we love Frankie for her heart and soul, but her good looks are a nice bonus.;)

It almost feels kinda like having a secret crush considering I've never openly expressed my feelings or attention towards Frankie out in the open. Mainly due to the fact I don't know anyone personally in RL who watches Foster's. Being on the internet and talking bout something is a whole nother issue, but like I said, thanks again for noticing our seriousness to such a sweet and loveable character like Frankie and seeing it more then just unhealthy nerd worshipping. |

Yep, I was VERY warmed by what InsaneFan said. Thank you very much! :D
And I'm kinda the same way as Mr. M. I'm open on the internet, but nobody I know personally(not even my family) is aware that I watch Foster's, or about my love of some other shows/movies/bands/etc. Not EVERYTHING, of course(I'm openly a Star Wars fan), but certain things I'm just too shy and unwilling to express to others in real life. This will sound stupid and cowardly, but I just fear that other people will make unwanted, snippy and derogatory remarks towards me... like "You still watch cartoons?" and "You're crushing after a CARTOON CHARACTER? Get a life and grow up!". The fact is, though, Frankie appeals more to me than most "real" girls I've ever known. |

Thank you, Insanefan. I really needed to hear that, and I appreciate it. :-* It's hard trying to explain to people about Foster's and Frankie. I don't even bring it up anymore unless someone asks, and I do get asked; I don't work, so people want to know what I do all day. I tell them I moderate an internet message board; if they ask what it's about, I tell them. Reactions range from smiles to puzzlement. Sometimes it goes further, and they want to know why I "waste" my time on a cartoon, and I do tell them it's because of Frankie. I don't really care what they think about it, or about me; I'm in love with her, and I won't deny it. In my view, it wouldn't be fair to her, and it's not something that I feel any shame about. I owe her way too much to treat her like that; whether she's real, cartoon, or Sim makes no difference to me, I will treat her with the same love, honor and respect that I would show any woman that I love, real or otherwise. I wouldn't consider myself much of a friend if I did anything less. That's how it is for me, at least, and my thoughts here are not to be taken as a comment or critique on anyone else's views or situation, because they're not. We all deal with our feelings in our own way, and we are entitled to do so. What I'm writing here is part of me dealing with and expressing mine. There's so much more that I could say about this wonderful lady, so much more that I want to say, but this is enough for now. |
