Great movie, A bit weird for some, but great.

Yeah, Brazil is so great. What cut did you watch?

I watched the original, full movie version. My friend brought it over and we sort of "trade movies". I show him a movie I like he's never seen and he does the same. He brought over "Brazil" and he is like in love with the movie.

He bought this fancy 60$ special edition DVD pack of the movie and we watched the full version. It was a REALLY weird movie. Enjoyable but weird.

Meet the Robinsons

This movie, in my opinion, was incredible! It is definetly worth watching!:D

AerostarMonk 03-31-2007 07:23 PM

Robinsons has a rockin' Elfman score I hear. That and I love 3D, I'll put that on my must list.

some guy you dont know 04-01-2007 05:21 PM

the truman show. i loved that movie. it was funny, but also serious and a little sad. you gotta feel bad for the guy.

Mr. Marshmallow 04-01-2007 08:58 PM

Dirty Pair: Project Eden

Yes, I know an ANIME movie probably isn't the same as a regular movie but never the less. This is the last movie I saw and I freaking LOVED IT! I'm so glad I bought this at the anime con I went to, one of the best anime TV series films.

I liked both cuts, but I have one of the normal (older) releases on VHS.

AerostarMonk 04-01-2007 09:24 PM

There's quite a few cuts, the American, the European, the Director's, and the Love Conquers All. I've only seen the Director's. Haven't gotten my mitts on the ultra deluxe set yet.

jekylljuice 04-01-2007 11:22 PM

Ah, Brazil...what an oddball movie. I watched it (the Director's Cut) a while ago and, after a certain point, lost serious track of a lot of what was happening. I should probably try watching it again. :P

I'd actually be interested to see the Love Conquers All cut some day, given that it not only manages to bump down the film's running time by a significant length, but apparrently also succeeds in distorting the entire tone and meaning of the narrative so, as the title suggests, we get a life-affirming comedy about the overriding forces of love and unity. It's therefore a testament to the evil and manipulative powers of editting in controling what the public sees and hears. :scaryberry:

AerostarMonk 04-01-2007 11:25 PM

I have so many versions of the song is not funny. Plus the soundtrack. I love the music so much. The song is great, and so is Kamen's score.

Meet the Robinsons

Incredible film. Simply incredible. Easily one of the best movies made by Disney in the last few years. The fact that it's only gotten, from what I can see, a mixed set of reviews is distressing.

jekylljuice 04-03-2007 09:18 AM

The Butterfly Effect

Turns out that the version I was watching earlier today was (unbeknownst to me at the time) the Director’s Cut, which had a bleaker and more dramatic conclusion than was apparently shown theatrically.

Nothing beats a well-made time travel movie, and this one certainly had an intriguing storyline and haunting central concept. My only real criticism would be that it felt a tad too similar, in many respects, to the infinitely superior Donnie Darko ( :herriman: no 6ft skeletal bunny rabbits to speak of here, but a lot of the thematics were fairly familiar), a parallel which the DC ending only reinforces. Nonetheless, it kept me involved for the two hours running time, and I was more than a little moved by the final outcome.

Sandie 04-03-2007 09:41 AM

I took my daughter to go see Cars, And that is the last movie I have seen I think.:berry: :scaryberry: :berry:

Crank

One of my new favorite movies, and a movie that never really got enough credit. This is an awesome action movie and it bothers me that apparently everyone I know hates this movie but me.

I really loved this movie and I think it's a shame it never got more appreciation or praise from critics or people.

AerostarMonk 04-03-2007 10:17 PM

Creepshow

That movie rocks the house. It was loads of fun. Especially Leslie Nielsen. And The Crate was the most fun of all. It actually made me jump a few times.

"Just tell it to call you Billie!"

Howard 04-04-2007 10:19 AM

Rose Red, and The Changeling, both wer made for TV thrillers on DVD.

Carlaz 04-05-2007 12:58 AM

Tristan and Isolde ~ rather uninspiring movie about a medieval romance that was forbidden between Tristan of Aragon & Isolde (an Irish princess).

BluebottleFlyer 04-05-2007 04:43 AM

Resident Evil Apocalypse. Saw it last night. The films will never be a patch on the games, but it was pretty enjoyable. Especially the Nemesis' rocket launcher destruction:)

Cassini90125 04-05-2007 06:46 AM

Earthstorm on Sci-Fi. The storyline was ludicrous, as it usually is for the channel's in-house productions, and while the characters were lacking in depth they were still likable, and the special effects weren't bad. I enjoyed it, which is all I ask of any movie. :)

Nyo 04-05-2007 09:09 AM

Ice Age: The Meltdown on DVD.

One of FOX's better films in years. I freakin' love Diego!

jekylljuice 04-06-2007 06:46 AM

Brick

Woo! Old-school neo-noir in a modern-day high school setting! I can't say I found it 100% convincing, but given how difficult it must have been to synthesize those two seemingly very alien elements together, I thought they did an impressive job. Plus, the slick editting techniques made effective use of what I presume was a pretty low budget. Points for originality, direction and tension.

Mr. Marshmallow 04-06-2007 02:03 PM

Grind House

Good lord this movie is awesome! It's so much fun, there's insane amounts of gore, action, violence, it's a great, great movie. I was a bit disappointed with the second film's ending "Death proof" but this movie is hard not to like.

It has so much going for it.

Partymember 04-06-2007 07:21 PM

Man of the Year.

Robins Williams is great :D

Mr. Marshmallow 04-06-2007 09:16 PM

Sky High

It may be a Disney movie but I can't lie, I actually enjoyed this movie quite a bit. I wouldn't buy it but it's a pretty decent flick.

Imaginary Light 04-08-2007 08:15 AM

The Spongebob Squarepants Movie

Okay, okay, I know. But I love this movie. It gives me a good laugh8D

frankie_fan 04-08-2007 07:38 PM

I work at a movie theater, so I watched it on my break. :D

Partymember 04-09-2007 11:55 AM

The Patriot on DVD.

love it!

AerostarMonk 04-09-2007 11:57 AM

I had been watching The Right Stuff, but the DVD crapped out on me. Too bad cause that movie was rockin' until it was stoppin'. So I guess that would make Kiss Kiss Bang Bang the last movie I saw. Any movie that ends with a Robert Downey Jr. love song is okay by me.

koosie 04-11-2007 01:25 PM

The Prestige staring Michael Caine and Christian Bale. Really very good film about nasty competitive magicians.

montitech 04-11-2007 07:32 PM

Puss in Boots,

I never seen Christopher Walken singing like that before.
It was a fun movie, based on the old story of Puss in Boots.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the original)

The Passenger

Really interesting Jack Nicholson film from the Cuckoo's Nest era which seems to have sat in the vaults for way too long.

Mr. Marshmallow 04-15-2007 02:04 PM

Aqua teen Hunger force colon the movie film for theaters

:bloocross: I just HAD to write the whole thing. This movie is hilarious, the beginning piece alone is genius. Fans of the show will die laughing when they see this.
