Smokin' Aces

Pretty messed up flick. I loved the Tremor brothers and the action in this movie was NUTS! Ending was a bit confusing and hard to follow at first. But I get it now, different then how I thought it'd be but it was really good.

The Manchurian Candidate

the original, still the best movie EVER!

Okay. First off it's a Pg-13 horror movie, right off the bat you know something wrong because the actual words "pg-13 horror movie" make about as much sense as "authentic imitation leather". The movie has completely terrible actors, every line is breezed through and they don't even put an ounce of effort in.

The dialogue and story is as about as cliche as you can get, there's nothing original, witty, funny, or scary here. This is the same old family moves out of city, to a haunted farm, and sees boring rehashed copy cat ghosts that mimic "the Ring" and "The grudge" almost to the point that you can't even stand it.

On top of that, the movie's overall ending makes the movie feel like such a waste because it makes no sense how this makes this a "ghost" horror movie. Also, be shocked and amazed for the incredible high body count of (SPOILER BELOW):

One person!

Unless you count flashbacks that is, then it ranks up to a whopping 4 victims. This movie isn't scary, isn't smart, and it isn't worth your money, not even for a rental unless you are seriously interested in finding a movie that makes "Hide and Seek" look like a masterpiece of cinema.

Cassini90125 02-03-2007 04:39 PM

Ouch! 8D Okay, I won't be seeing that one.

House of Bloo's

Cassini90125 02-04-2007 07:54 AM

House Of Bloo's yet again, which just finished a few minutes ago. CN is now playing Everyone Knows It's Bendy, to be followed by Good Wilt Hunting at noon. I was hoping they'd play a couple of the shorts between the movies, but I can live with seeing Bendy again. With a little luck they might play a short after GWH. Here's hoping.

Deep Rising

AerostarMonk 02-05-2007 08:55 PM

One of the movies of the 90s crying for a sequel. Any movie fan worth his salt know what island they landed on in Deep Rising. And the Jerry Goldsmith score is top-notch too.

Yeah i was really pissed they left it at such a GOD AWFUL cliffhanger. I mean this really set it up so desperately sequel wise, and I really enjoyed this movie too. It was a kick ass and original monster movie and a very gory one too.

After this movie, most monster movies copied the same format of having military groups being randomly killed by cheesy monsters made out of CGI and crap. Except this one's ACTUALLY worth watching as opposed to Sci-Fi channel's movies.

AerostarMonk 02-05-2007 10:57 PM

Oh my. Well we did get the sequel in a way. It was called King Kong. Haha.

Mr. Marshmallow 02-06-2007 05:03 PM

The Grudge 2

Alot of people bad mouthed this movie and said it was terrible. I admit the first one was better and it has a few weak moments, but I really did like this movie and it had some excellent creepy scenes, and I REALLY liked this cast of actors.

It's better then people say it is and I still support/love the movie.

Nathander 02-06-2007 07:22 PM

A Scanner Darkly.

Probably one of the best adaptations of a Philip K. Dick novel ever done.

Mr. Marshmallow 02-07-2007 06:15 PM

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning

A certainly much more gory and gruesome prequel to the remake, I would have to say I enjoyed this more then I did the original remake just for entertainment value. Sheriff totally steals the show (again), even with the film's few flaws.

TraverseTown 02-08-2007 04:19 PM

Taledaga Nights, hated it.

Osamu Tezuka's Metropolis. Brilliant movie, especially in the cliamx with Ray Charles' 'I Can't Stop Loving You'.

I totally agree, that ending song was magnificently placed. Who cares if it's american music in a Japanese movie? It was incredible, a beautiful finale.

I just got back from watching "Hannibal Rising" with my girlfriend. It is a great Valentine's Day movie.

Smoking Aces

Great movie, but one of the only two action movies I've seen that leaves you with a complete downer of an ending, the other being Reservoir Dogs. STill, a great and entertaining action movie, and a good watch for anyone of the age to see it.

Ghost Rider

Hell of a lot better then I was expecting, I expected alot of cheese and alot of crap. Well there's still plenty of campy weirdess all around but the special effects are amazing, and this movie is certainly not going to bore anyone.

Ghost Rider looks amazing on the big screen, I'd say they got his character down pretty accurately.
