The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Oh man, this is probably one of my favorite games ever. I've gotten pretty addicted to it recently, but still haven't got through the first temple. I'll try to work on that tonight.

Come to think of it the only "Nintendo Hard" game I have ever been able to beat was the original Mega Man, without having to resort to using the Pause/Elec beam trick no less.

Anyways getting back on topic the last game I played was the PS2 war sim Kessen 2, which like almost any other game Koei makes is based on the 14 century Chinese novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms"

Ninja Gaiden isn't as rough when you figure out the trick to it. Enemies have static repeating spawn points, so ONLY kill flying ones on a different screen than where they came from. Basically, just practice hitting things while jumping, and most of the challenges are dealth with. A lso, you will always have enough ammo and weapons for certain tricky spots, so don't worry about using them.

Mind you, Jaquio's a real pain to fight.

Street Fight......

Buzz.... We interrupt this gaming thread for the following announcement.

Fans of anime and 2d fighting games rejoiced today, as the impossible has appeared to have happened.

Tatsunoko Vs Capcom for the Nintendo Wii has been confirmed for a North American release.

http://www.411mania.com/games/news/1...r-the-U.S..htm

More on this story as it develops, and now back to your regularly scheduled thread already joined in progress.

Street Fighter 3: Third Strike

I hadn't played it in a while and I must say that it still remains one of the most beautiful looking 2d fighters in the history of the genre. Still could never get the hang of the parrying system though, so it looks like I won't be heading to any tournaments any time soon.

Punch Out (Wii)

Mac is back! (No not that one I'm afraid) One of the best pseudo boxing games in the history of video games has made it's triumphant return to Nintendo consoles and it's just as good as it always was, with it's awesome edge of your seat challenge level guaranteed to make you sweat, doubly so if you're playing with the default Remote/Nunchuck control scheme.

PokeMon Platinum (got it for my B-Day)... I forgot how fun the PokeMon games were, hahaha.

Ditto!

I got a chance to play this game, and man, it was worth it. From the voice acting and the gameplay, Punch-Out!! truly made a great comeback for Nintendo (ever since Samus made a comeback with Metroid Prime for the Gamecube).

Hopefully, a sequel for this game comes out for the Wii in the near future, with wi-fi online play, new characters and an improvement with multiplayer mode.

The Munchables (Wii)

My love for quirky Japanese games lead me to this off beat title from NAMCO/BANDAI, the same company that gave us the wonderful "Katamari Damacy". The game has you playing as a pair of gluttonous little creatures who have to save their island home from space pirates that look like fruits and vegetables, and you have to defeat your foes by you guessed it, eating them all. And much like the aforementioned Katamari the more you eat the larger you get, allowing you to take down some of the larger obstacles in your path.

So to sum it up it's basically Katamari meets Pac Man (another Namco game) and if you're like me and enjoy insane games such as this, you should check it out.

I bought Sonic Gems Collection a day or two ago. Mostly just so I could play Sonic CD again. Also, just so I could beat up tails as sonic alot. But, the one game I didnt really think I'd find amaziingly fun, or to have good music/cool graphics, or actually play constantly, was...

Sonic R!

Man I love this game. Though I'm not very good at it. Need to find those coins. need to unlock the tails doll and metal sonic and those other guys...

Punch Out (Wii)

I made it to title match mode, that's when the game starts to get REALLY hard...man even freaking Glass Joe is a bit of a challenge on the second go around. (Lousy French stereotype and his damage preventing headgear. :terrence: )

Ghost Busters (Wii)

It's one of those video game rarities a licensed that does not suck. Which is a good thing given the franchise shoddy track record when it comes to video game adaptations, that GB NES game still sometimes give me nightmares.

Anyways while this game doesn't break new ground in terms of game play or graphics, GB still retains all of the humor and wit of the two movies.

The game also boasts the vocal talents of most of the original cast, even Bill Murray returns to one his greatest roles in film history which takes the experience to whole new level.

So all in all if anyone is/was a fan of the movies they would do well to check this get this game immediately, anyone else GB is still worth a rental if you have the time.

Cave Story

I've been playing this game extensively since I downloaded it 3 days ago, and just now beat it. It really is better than I was told, which is saying something.

Spoiler Below
I'm just not good enough to beat the final cave and get the ultra-good ending. This saddens me. I will beat it, even if it takes all summer.

taranchula 07-29-2009 08:06 PM

Wii Sports Resort

To paraphrase my one of my favorite all time bad movies Road House. This game has become my new Saturday night thing.

The Motion+ attachment does in fact live up to the hype and with any luck other developers will follow Nintendo's example and finally put out a plethora of fun to play AAA titles.

some guy you dont know 07-29-2009 11:58 PM

Chrono Trigger on the DS.

Apparently it took 27 hours of playing (over the course of 4/5 days) but I beat it. I thought it was pretty amazing and didn't dissapoint.

Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Gamecube version)

It took a while for me to get into it, but now I'm hooked. It's got a really good story line and it's really fun to play. It's kind of repetitive at the beginning, having to collect the Spirits' tears three times, but it's a fun kind of repetitive.

Mega Man 2 (Virtual Console Version)

One hit deaths on the Quickman stage?! Seriously?! After that, all the other stages before Dr. Wily weren't as aggravating as Quickman's.

de Blob (Wii)

Just bought the game yesterday, and everything that made it cool when I rented it is still cool today: coloring the landscape to earn a high score, squishing enemies, and listening to the upbeat music that doesn't get old.

Yeah, I hear you. That level was the bane of many children's existence back in the 80's, the only positive thing is that it is one and only time you have to put up with that obstacle in the entire game.

This is probably one of the better original IP's on the Wii. Hopefully with any luck they'll announce a sequel and build upon the great ideas that were laid out in the game.

King of Fighters XI

This game is addicting. However, I'm bad at fighting games and my thumb is very sore right now, even though I've barely played it in the last two days.

I do not know if card games count on this thread, but here I go. I am a Spade playin' fool. I just love Spades - it is fast paced, and you play partners. If you are familiar with Hearts, you can take to this game quickly (Hearts = don't want to take books. Spades = it is all about taking books). I learned this game in the military. When I got good at it, my partner and I would participate in tournies, or at parties where we would play for a nickel a point (you play to 500 points in Spades). Anyway it is a fun game.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Easily the hardest Zelda game I've ever played and as aggravating as the 2nd quest from Zelda 1 on the NES. I had to ask my friend to get through several parts of the game, particularly the Stone Tower Temple which is the last dungeon before going to the moon to fight the final boss.

The Sims 3

I could write a great deal about this game, which I've been playing virtually nonstop for nearly two weeks, and I do intend to write more later, but for now, behold the face of evil:

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...ni90125/KH.jpg

Andrew Havoc, criminal mastermind, future Emperor of Evil, and... forum troll. Yep, in the Sims 3 game, some Sims can troll on forums, and Andrew is one of them. When the option popped up on his computer, I laughed and said, "I've got to try this!" So I did, three times. Two forums ignored him, much to his disappointment. The third banned him; he got a mood boost from that. Like it's predecessor. the game is weird, but a hell of a lot of fun. ;D

NEW Super Mario Bros. - Nintendo DS

I recently got myself a Nintendo DS (since I had MORE than enough money to buy it! 8D) and it was a Mario edition that came with the game NEW Super Mario Bros. I just pre-ordered Scribblenauts, and I'm hoping to find WarioWare: Touched.

taranchula 09-24-2009 01:48 PM

Mario Kart Wii

Yes I finally broke down and bought this game a while ago, it was on sale at one of my local stores, now if they would just do the same and lower the price of the DS version then I will be set, sorry I love Nintendo and all but asking $50 for a near four year old game just isn't right.

Anyways onto the game itself, well it's Mario Kart despite some upgrades here and there it still retains the basic fun components that has made the series so good since it's inception on the SNES ages ago.

I've played some online races and it's not as bad as people been making out to be, I must be lucky and got matched up against some non cheating opponents in every race I've been in thus far.

In the last few days I've been remembering just how stress-relieving going round a futuristic labyrinth blasting everyone in sight with a Flak Cannon can be.

Tatsunko Vs Capcom (Wii)

They said it could never be done, that the licensing issues would make sure that this game would be a Japan exclusive for the end of time.

But they were wrong as the battle between some of the most well known video game characters verses characters from one of Japan's most well known animation studios has finally made it's way to North American shores and I for one couldn't be happier.

Not only is this one of the most well put together fighting games to have ever come out in years, it's also a good way to broaden my anime viewing horizons and track down some of the shows whose characters were featured in this title. (Especially the Tekkaman Series, both Space Knight and Blade.)

Now all Capcom has to do is make a crossover fighting game with the Cartoon Network and that would just about do it for all my crazy video game fantasies in my life time.

Nice! I've been waiting for this game for a while now. Never let it be said that Capcom doesn't try.

The last game I played was the demo for Lost Planet 2. After seeing the LP2 video that featured the Gears of War crew I knew it was time to try this series out. I've had an interest in the series for a while now so I'm glad I tried it out.

Batman Arkham Asylum

The Joker (voiced by Mark Hamill) takes over the Arkham Asylum, and Batman (Kevin Conroy) must navigate the asylum to determine the Joker's ultimate plan. Most of the time you're either taking down armed thugs stealthy or engaging hand to hand combat with unarmed goons. As you make progress, you'll earn gadgets and upgrades that will open doors and passages or help take down enemies.

In my opinion, the best parts of the game are the Joker's dialogue and the stealthy portions of the game. It's nice to hear Tom Kane play out his roles as the Warden and Commissioner Gordon. Every time I hear the Warden speak, I immediately think of Mr. Herriman, for they have similar voices.

Medikor 02-08-2010 06:52 AM

Sam and Max Season 1, I just finished episode 3. I always liked Sam and Max so I tried the demo for Season 1 on the 360. I enjoyed it so much that I went to Zellers and bought the game on PC for 14 bucks instead of paying full price to download it and take up space on my 360.:D

What a coincidence that was the last game I played as well, I enjoy the new addition of the retro styled mini games a lot, save for the two gym mini games. That treadmill one is pure evil on the harder difficulties.

scary_dream 02-09-2010 01:16 AM

Oooh yeah, the treadmill one is not what kicked my butt, it was the punching/kicking one. I just couldn't seem to get the timing down right. Aside from that, I loved the 8-bit games as well. They were actually really fun.

And that last fight had me getting angry and yelling at the tv, saying "What the....?", and laughing so much the whole time. It was completely ridiculous.

Medikor 02-10-2010 07:22 AM

I've mostly been playing Street Fighter IV to gear up for Super Street Fighter IV. Not to mention I wanted to enjoy what I had left of my free month of Xbox Live Gold membership before it expired yesterday. I don't mind too much because it just lets me put my focus on trying to unlock the remaining colours and personal actions.

Medikor 02-22-2010 04:01 PM

Street Fighter IV again after getting fed up with the snorefest that is Lost Odyssey. Now my belief of Sakaguchi leaving Square being a bad thing is completely jaded.:'(

The Sims 3

You know, for a game that's supposed to simulate real life...

The family I'm playing consists of eight Sims of various ages and occupations. One of them, a woman named Reese, is an investigative reporter. Among the things she can do in that career is root around in other Sims' garbage cans, so I sent her out to do that. Messy business but whatever. In one garbage can, she found a meteor. Big deal, so what? Well, the meteor in question happened to be worth over $5,000.00. Okay, I can see the owner of the garbage can tossing the meteor in the trash; after all, he might not know what it's worth. However, the fact that the meteor is roughly 10 times the size of the garbage can, I'm having some trouble reconciling that with what I know about the laws of physics. :bloocross:

The game itself is major-league fun, thanks in part to a couple of well-made hacks I downloaded, and aside from an occasional random crash at startup it plays very well. I can't wait to get it running on a better system. ;D

Medikor 04-05-2010 06:06 PM

Do you have any plans to create the Fosters house and crew like you did in the other SIMs game?

Rhythm Heaven on the DS Lite

A fun rhythm game from the makers of WarioWare. It's really fun and addictive to tap to the rhythm of these games. I wanted this game after playing it on my sister's DS while I was in Perth. So, before I left, I purchased it, and I've been playing it ever since.
