Black-Headed Gulls (Keehar from Watership Down) and a feral pigeon . The rear Gull is a juvenile but they all lose their black heads in the winter. The fella at the front has only just got his back as shown by the white flecks at the front. His beak will get redder too.
The birds are looking for scraps in a car park but the Starlings get all my leftovers but sadly they keep moving and are hard to photograph. This behaviour, relatively new to the Gulls has also been taken up apparently by Sea Eagles released in the Scottish Islands but is unlikely to catch on amongst them as it takes more than a few scraps to satisfy an Eagle. |
